lobbes: this is the point huh? Goal should really be to answer question of 'can
mp-wp run on rockchip?'
lobbes:
http://btcbase.org/log/2018-06-23#1829073 << after some investigation it appears that either mysql and/or php is the issue. In other words, stopping the mysql server (thus killing
mp-wp) yields the ability load static 'non-
mp-wp' pages that otherwise timeout when the server is running
☝︎ mircea_popescu: ah, crapolade trying to spam. shouldn't really bring
mp-wp down afaik.
phf: (to clarify for logs,
mp-wp patchset now, correctly, has reground mp-wp_genesis only)
spyked: anyway, given my limited experience with wp (nowadays I just lul at the attackers from republic of moldova trying to gain wp-admin access for the old blog), I am ready to admit that
mp-wp's may be the optimal permeability of this membrane. I was even tempted to switch to
mp-wp, but I'm hoping to see trilema antispam implemented in Lisp at some point in the future.

http://btcbase.org/log/2018-06-05#1820747 <-- I dun disagree at all. as far as the thought experiment goes, I still wonder, though, whether those edges of productivity follow from *all* the lines of
mp-wp code and is more than the sum of each, or whether there's a lot of extra crud in there. perhaps overly naively/boyishly at the time, I started my (still ongoing) experiment the other way around ("what is the minimum number of lines to
☝︎ phf: asciilifeform: right, not all of the svgs have multiline base64. and you'll notice that some of the files have windows newlines. i think
mp-wp codebase is the one that would benefit the most from the autoformat tool discussed in logs..

☟︎ phf: just to clarify my blog is
mp-wp, i just bastardized the theme to the point of "improvements" being worse than original
phf:
mp-wp is 162093 loc, 6062 of which are containered gif/png. so it's not even that base64 blobs are adding to weight. the codebase is massive

mp-wp genesis is 5.8 mb, i haven't yet figured out yet how to make btcbase not fall under the size. at the very least i need to add a caching layer, so that i'm not regenerating 5.8*n for the generated html every time

☟︎ lobbes: BingoBoingo: I left a comment on yer guide re: php5.6 shitgnomes deprecating mysql in favor of mysqli. (Should be in queue). This will be a boon indeed if we can string all the quirks of
mp-wp-on-rockchip in one place
diana_coman: BingoBoingo, thanks; looking forward to the rest of the walk to
mp-wp at any rate (I can see the appeal of ligthtpd for sure)
lobbes: the "error: dereferencing pointer to incomplete type" sounds like we have the same issue. Either way, I've no solution yet myself. I figure if I can get
mp-wp going with php 7.2 I guess I'll be satisfied for now
mod6: in a pinch -- you could always try to just : `patch -F 0 -E -p1 < mp-wp_genesis.vpatch` in some directory and just inflate the thing.
mod6: When you see it in the flow, then you should be good. Then you'll have to do : ./v.pl p v mpwp mp-wp_genesis.vpatch pd mpwp sd .mpwp-seals

mircea_popescu: asciilifeform, you could of course put in ye olde
mp-wp page limiter, and give all the boecks a very sad surprise.
hanbot: danielpbarron still, it'd be great if we could merge dpb-wp with
mp-wp and get something going.
danielpbarron: i've made so many modifications to
mp-wp it's like dpb-wp now
hanbot: hey danielpbarron (or any other
mp-wp users with 'classic' theme goin'), assuming you're using mp's antispam, wouldja mind pasting your themes/classic/comments.php for me so i can see how you're handling the $suffix? differs from the 'default' i'm using, but i'd like to include a fix for it in a comments patch.
hanbot: and that'll be
mp-wp's first patch, eta this week.
lobbes: i.e. not yet figured out trb, because I've been working on
mp-wp migration
mircea_popescu: Mocky, my very good pleasure.
mp-wp (as pressed by hanbot recently) may be useful to you.
mircea_popescu: ben_vulpes, consider the eminent case of apache serving
mp-wp. the fact that at t1 i updated the article list and at t2 the db read the stale t0 version makes EXACTLY NO DIFFERENCE.
lobbes: Essentially would need it for various php-trons,
mp-wp hosting, and irc bottage.
lobbes: Ugh, so my www on my frantech vps has been dog slow all day. Same vps that hosts lobbesbot, so possibly I have finally outgrown the thing (currently hosts bot,
mp-wp, archived urls index, eulora price history, and various misc)
hanbot: well, left branch approach does exist; that's why i was even able to put up the
mp-wp genesis, after all. as for fix, sure an eta'd be better than no eta. i'm just sayin', doesn't look much like a runner to me.
mircea_popescu: incidentally, the inept way in which postgress handles this case is why mysql still official db for
