trinque reflects on his several migrations of the
deedbot stack

deedbot-invoice asciilifeform (i'ma have to refill the piggy before i can fill it tho).
diana_coman: nocredit: register a key with
deedbot as otherwise there can't possibly be a "next time/later", it's always first time...
diana_coman: nocredit: for that matter if running own trb is too big a pain/expense, I suppose you might be better served by getting in the wot and using
deedbot's wallet for that matter.
trinque: having serious problems with the DC I'm using for
deedbot, sorry folks. I'm going to try to get the migration to pizarro completed this weekend.

deedbot.

deedbot/any user privately directly, you don't need to join some channel first; and re newcomers, it's usually safer for themselves to join one of the lords' channels first, really (e.g. #asciilifeform, #trinque, #eulora)
a111: Logged on 2019-05-22 12:51 diana_coman: stjohn_piano_2: re ^ , an OTP challenge is a way to check one's identity; hence,
deedbot will not send an OTP in response to !!register but WILL send an OTP in response to ~any other command (technically to any command that is a request of *someone* i.e. that requires an identity)

☟︎ trinque: I'm going to quickly restart
deedbot in a repl session, so next time this hang occurs I can fiddle with the thing live.
a111: Logged on 2019-05-17 23:18 trinque: I could e.g. make

☟︎ a111: Logged on 2019-05-16 18:01 stjohn_piano_2: my pgptron is gpg 1.4.10, compiled from mp's original source in
deedbot.
a111: Logged on 2019-05-16 17:11 stjohn_piano_2: asciilifeform: gpg --list-packets shows that the key ID is C8EFFF13 in the OTP file. The key ID of my public key is 5991 52AC. Is this expected? (the fingerprint shown by
deedbot in the earlier line is correct, though).
stjohn_piano_2: in my notes, i had this sequence: 1) join forum, 2)
deedbot will present OTP, 3) decrypt OTP, 4) use !!v OTP.
stjohn_piano_2: asciilifeform: have exported pub-derived-from-priv and diffed it with pub-downloaded-from-
deedbot. no difference other than "Version: GnuPG v1.4.10 (GNU/Linux)".
stjohn_piano_2: asciilifeform: i have imported the corresponding priv. will now export pub and confirm that it's the same as the one in
deedbot.
stjohn_piano_2: my pgptron is gpg 1.4.10, compiled from mp's original source in
deedbot.
☟︎ stjohn_piano_2: puzzler: why the key ID in the otp message is C8EFFF13, while my key's fingerprint is 599152AC. importing the private key into gpg produces (in gpg --list-keys) the correct key ID 599152AC. diffing the key returned by
deedbot with my public key shows no difference.
mp_en_viaje: and it's worth your time to do this by yourself rather than actually use
deedbot because why ? tryina learn how shit works ?
stjohn_piano_2: checkpoint articles are hashed and made into bitcoin addresses. some bitcoin is transferred to this address, much like
deedbot.
stjohn_piano_2: asciilifeform: gpg --list-packets shows that the key ID is C8EFFF13 in the OTP file. The key ID of my public key is 5991 52AC. Is this expected? (the fingerprint shown by

☟︎ a111: Logged on 2019-05-02 11:01 mircea_popescu: so
deedbot doesn't work because apaprently p.bvulpes is dead
mp_en_viaje: and the EXACT same goes for linus. because if
deedbot comes out with 0, you know ~for a fact~ schmuck's running a bait and switch scheme, waiting for anon tards to donate their wikipedia editing to him so he can donate it to some "code of conduct" femstate tards down the line.
mp_en_viaje:
deedbot could see if any of the other bots respond.
BingoBoingo: OriansJ: Anyways, with my rating you can voice yourself by sending a private message to
deedbot lobbesbot: trinque: Sent 16 hours and 22 minutes ago: <spyked> could pl0x look at
deedbot deposits when you get the time? fyi, I started two !!deposit and only did the latter; can cancel the former, I'll redo it later if needed

BingoBoingo: <
deedbot> Invoiced asciilifeform 3 << Pizarro Second Round pt 1, 4th and 5th pending << Slipped the !!v in the other window
mircea_popescu: what would you think of a lord who actually googled for your key ? didn't have it in keyriong, something like wot.
deedbot DIDNT EVEN EXIST
mircea_popescu: chonkin, pm
deedbot !!up then !!v the challenge string.
mircea_popescu: chonkin, i expect
deedbot will let you self-voice now, give it a try.
chonkin:
deedbot says I cannot !!up myself
a111: Logged on 2017-08-14 17:20 mircea_popescu: this is actually going to be teh magic number of the republic. so at this juncture i would like to ask everyone to compute "the largest primorial (ie, product of all successive primes) that fits in 515 bits", sign it and put it into
deedbot.
mircea_popescu: it's certainly a huge difference between (
deedbot is connected to republican network, from which moron world managed to temporarily netsplit itself) and (
deedbot is connected to moron world, apparently alone in corner by itself)
mod6: I'm going to be rebuilding the new irc server tonight to include NICKLENs of 24 chars (fleabag has a max of 16, trinque also checked, an no current regiesterd nick in
deedbot is >24), TOPICLEN of 390 chars (for uberlong topics/urls etc), and USERREGLENs of also 24.
a111: Logged on 2018-08-04 22:05 asciilifeform: ben_vulpes: iirc i proposed at one time an intermediate item on the way to proper gossipd ( 'serpent'-ciphered tunneler to connect coupla ircd instances to each other, and ditto for users ( get otp cookie a la
deedbot, get a key that's good for 1 tcp connect ) but so far instead followed mircea_popescu's advice re not wasting sweat on such a thing, but pushing with ffa so as to get with what to gossipd.
BingoBoingo: Will grab key off of
deedbot and try again
PeterL: does it match the one
deedbot has?
trinque: now that we're at something of a cuntoo interude while folks are testing, I'll find some time to figure out what
deedbot gags on time to time re: reconnecting
mircea_popescu: other than maintaining the
deedbot infrastructure, trinque is working on cuntoo, which is a rather large piece and it taking a [difficult to predict] while is not by itself the end of the world ; but i'd like to see some roadmapping, tentative and subject to change as it may be, lest the effort degenerates.
trinque: afaik they're just displaying the rdns in
deedbot's case, isn't a cloak
trinque: probably the thing to do is a) rip out the tls part and b) get
deedbot hosted on cuntoo
trinque: once off that, I might see about ebuilding trb (with perhaps phf's v+portage work if it surfaces), and then mircea_popescu's gns v-tree, unless gpg replacement surfaces soon, in which case
deedbot->peh work
mircea_popescu: trinque o, nice! can it be wrapped into
deedbot ? !!sendtx <raw> or <url> ?
danielpbarron: if it's gonna get me a bunch of negative ratings i'd rather it get removed from the feed bot. i'd like to keep using
deedbot and eulora
