lobbes: In other news, I wish this
mp-wp-bot already existed. I've been trying to locate a Trilema piece for this post I'm working on, and I must've gone through a few dozen by now with no luck.

billymg: without going into too much detail my current
mp-wp roadmap is: 1) finish writing tests, 2) mass delete cruft/unnecessary "features", 3) formalize a republican theme (or a few themes)

diana_coman: re logger atm I am undecided as my options so far seem to be: 1. do another round of madness with flask until it works on this old (but stable at least) centos 2. replicate environment aka burn down centos and have fun installing remotely on the machine cuntoo 3. simply run irssi (as I'm otherwise running this code anyway as my client) with logging to db into an
mp-wp database and be done with it (possibly each line a one comment - will end

mircea_popescu: im not re-debugging this, spent a day year-or-so ago on it, i expect the resuklts to be in the

mircea_popescu: someone can then configure a local ~eater~ (taking, eg, bot cvs dumps) and have the logs (of w/e chan interests them) directly on their
mp-wp. which means -- including the selection thing etc.
mircea_popescu: incidentally, lobbes or billymg i guess -- if either of you feel like futzing with it, having a logger bot that spits out days formatted for
mp-wp into MPWP_posts table formatted into a category so one can just plug that into their blog will prolly be fantastic.

BingoBoingo: diana_coman: This is odd. I an unsure how or why

mp-wp diana_coman: BingoBoingo: the
mp-wp on younghands.club seems to be still stripping all tags; is it deployed without the patch or what?
mp_en_viaje: diana_coman, alternatively, you set up a
mp-wp on postgres.
diana_coman: so uhm, basically it has to be a different
mp-wp installation for logtron specifically?
mp_en_viaje: diana_coman, how appealing does the following sound to you : 1. run an instance of logbot, feeding the log into your
mp-wp db, so that each day is publishd as a new post ; 2. have a special category for these, such as "logs" or w/e ; add a special search page, such that if one introduces a term is fed a list of days that include it, with the term preselected in the page by url.
mp_en_viaje:
mp-wp entirely exists as "this thing that displays a database" thing. if you already have a thing that feeds a database, and miss athing that displays it, then mp=wp very well could be it.
mp_en_viaje: it ~occurs to me~ however, that some trivial glue would readily turn a db pre-populated by this logbot into
mp-wp pages.
mp_en_viaje: wth is this bullshit, anyway! left to own devices how about we just driftwood forever into nothingness! when i discovered a problem with
mp-wp, at night in fucking minsk, i was also ~publishing~ a solution the next fucking morning, what the everloving fuck already.
BingoBoingo: diana_coman: I'm not familiar with crontab, but your db user has full privileges on the
mp-wp blog's database
BingoBoingo: Now,
mp-wp does have a user role facility that allows restricting what different user names get to do.
BingoBoingo: Well,
mp-wp also has all of the dashboard including living in /wp-admin as well including the page for making posts.
diana_coman: I knew I did it before but on standard wp and I hadn't looked at
mp-wp BingoBoingo:
mp-wp has a user management feature. As long as they are interacting with the shared account through
mp-wp they shouldn't be setting up irc bouncers to draw aggro by evangelizing Pantsuited tonterias
diana_coman: BingoBoingo: asciilifeform does the
mp-wp install on a shared account with pizarro work with multiple authors?
Mocky: BingoBoingo: I have my blog posts migrated over to the
mp-wp you set up for me on UY1, I want to switch over and have mocky.org served from there. What's a good way to do that?
mircea_popescu: because it occurs to me that ~if~ you publish your codebase you're working on, and if your blog works correctly in the
mp-wp sense, then therefore you get all this for free, just make a metapost.

☟︎ billymg: but yeah, the "
mp-wp roadmap proposal" post is something i've been meaning to do
mircea_popescu: now ~whether~ it can or can not resize images, that'd be part of

mircea_popescu: asciilifeform, it's altogether dubious
mp-wp is program, or really anything other than an overgrown script.
billymg: in terms of test suite, i didn't actually write any automated tests for

a111: Logged on 2019-03-27 17:14 mircea_popescu: billymg, if you're happy with it, one thing you could do is patch your testing suite as an alternate patch off
mp-wp genesis ; this way people looking to test can just use it (and patch atop it if need be) rather than write from scratch.
mircea_popescu: diana_coman, word. it's more a thing for something like
mp-wp, which is a sort of enduser app so to speak, than something like eucrypt that's basically a library, or in any case a building block intended for use in forging.
