diana_coman: mod6, yes, new server is at new ip from pizarro :)
mod6: diana_coman: I tried to connect to eulora, but I suspect the problem is that I haven't tried to login since the new server moved to its new home at Pizarro.
mod6: Ok, I'll put in a bid tomorrow, I gotta buy some ecu with pizarro's funds (im nearly certain I don't have 1bn or even near that in my eulora acct), then put in the bid.
asciilifeform: pcie is the current pci ( as seen in e.g. the pizarro boxen )
asciilifeform: incidentally, there is also a potential iron cure, currently FG at pizarro are attached to miniature usb2 hubs. ( asciilifeform was not able to source pure usb1 hubs, but potentially these exist somewhere. )
douchebag: My main problem with the Pizarro business model is that I could essentially get the same service by purchasing a fiber internet connection and hooking it up to a rockchip and then SSHing into it
asciilifeform: hey mod6 , why is #pizarro filling up with spamola ?
a111: Logged on 2018-07-09 21:24 lobbes: mod6 I would gladly work to earn that grant. As it is, I already need to get the 'legacy' auctionbot away from heathen dependencies (in this case, the 'supybot' api), so in building this custom auctionbot for pizarro I may just take the opportunity to design something sitting atop ircbot/logbot and eventually release a proper genesis

mod6: lobbes: As a courtesy, Pizarro would like to let you know that your quarterly rockchip rental is up for renewal after July 31st. Just a heads-up. You can renew now, or on August 1st (or thereabouts).
mod6: jurov: Is it ok with you then (or easy enough for you to do) if I do: !!invoice jurov [btc_amt_for_june] June Invoice for The Bitcoin Foundation's colocation service. #foundation #pizarro
a111: Logged on 2018-07-26 00:01 mod6: trinque: Question for ya regarding how jurov can make a payment for The Foundation's hosting fees at Pizarro: Is there a way that I can get an outside BTC address to give him that would go directly to my deedbot wallet? I see that I can do `!!deposit amount`, which might work, but it could be days before a payment is made. Is this a problem? Thoughts?
mircea_popescu would like to provide some air to the fine pizarro folk, but... !

mod6: ben_vulpes jurov BingoBoingo : I do not believe The Bitcoin Foundation was ever invoiced for colocation services for The Foundation's one machine at Pizarro for the month of June. And thusly, no amount was shown on the Foundation's June 2018 statement.

mircea_popescu: asciilifeform consider eg that pizarro doesn't need to undertake the (significant, and unbounded) cost of writing "code of conduct" or "terms of service" or any of the other nonsense. things have changed. nude bitcoin is dangerous in the sense discussed in 2012, but bitcoin-as-currency-of-the-republic eminently usable today. ☟︎

mod6: If you and lobbes make amends, you could be a Pizarro customer.
lobbes: esthlos: now this is very true; if you're going to trust your coin to a 3rd party, it may as well be someone in-wot. anyways, whenever you want to set up an account hop on over to #pizarro. I'm sure BingoBoingo or mod6 can get you started
lobbes: esthlos, you ever consider pizarro shared hosting for your blog? over 99.8% uptime (math used to calculate uptime rate > http://archive.is/7hPmN#selection-1537.42-1539.18)

asciilifeform: diana_coman: it isn't impossible to keep a seekrit, but proposition re doing so to a proggy that has to run on colo'd boxen ( in many cases outside of festung pizarro, even ) is dubious imho
mod6: In other news, BingoBoingo has accepted the position as Pizarro Manager, and officially will take over in this role after the August Statement is published in the first few days of September. Congrats to BingoBoingo!

diana_coman: and as a customer of Pizarro I'd be very happy to know that BingoBoingo takes on the management role and gets it moving;also, re directions to my mind this forum here is a great place to come and ask about scary/unknown stuff *early*
BingoBoingo: Well, pizarro has the dedicated boxes that require invoicing and the occasional standup. The rockchips that require invoicing and the occasional standup. Then there's the shared hosting server which is beefy as hell and runs a very lean gentoo.
trinque: the fact that wallet features benefit greatly from a live and healthy pizarro is also not lost on me, which is why I jumped to be (afaik) live customer #1
mircea_popescu: did pizarro ever build up a localbitcoins acct ? ☟︎
BingoBoingo: lobbes et al: I'll keep taking stuff on my plate, but the reason Pizarro isn't BBISP is... A need for more direction.
mod6: I'd like to remind everyone here that Pizarro still desperately needs a manager, please inquire within if you're interested.
mircea_popescu: iirc ben_vulpes was working on something like that prior to pizarro adventure.

diana_coman: asciilifeform, re ssh key, pizarro already has mine, just use that one; re box: I've read through the logs and in the end I'm still confused as to *what* is in there now - is it musltronic system or not?
asciilifeform: currently pizarro has substantially moar FG than it has machines.
mod6: one question that I was thinking about today... I know we've been over this a few times before... but did Pizarro ever put in a formal order for say, 100 more FGs?

mimisbrunnr: Logged on 2018-06-20 16:30 mircea_popescu: which brings us to : ben_vulpes would pizarro be amenable to bring up the spare sometime so she makes it a full gnat musl thing, test whether we can move everything there, and either move it (so basically, moving servers) or else backing down (so basically i guess either renting both for a while or powerting back down the spare) ?
mircea_popescu: diana_coman you mean other than because it dun require pizarro provision a box ?
asciilifeform: mircea_popescu: if no answer from ben_vulpes in day or 2, i'ma have to ctrl-C that loop and take over reactor controls, and ask mod6 to make good on his offer to sell his spare ssd's, currently kept in the bilge, to pizarro, and then give the signal to BingoBoingo to install it in diana_coman's auxiliary box.

mod6: One thing that I'd also like to mention regarding the role for pizarro manager: We are looking to de-couple the manager role from the accounting portion. We're really looking for two roles at this moment. One person to handle the accounting role, and another person to handle the day-to-day management.
mod6: I'll stand in as acting manager for the time being, but now begins the official search for a new pizarro manager. Please let us know if interested in the role.
