mod6: and seems to work ok... but i'll hvae to
test this quite a bit.
mod6: i use the built thing to
test my code changes and other config changes.
mod6: <+mircea_popescu> mod6 alrighty, seems it's teh consensus here. << ok lemme put this together, and will post in here for you guys to review, and people to
test.
mircea_popescu: put the
test sufficiently high up in the program flow you won't have bad things happen.
mod6: All: Stand-by I've made some updates to the script referenced in the wiki as to drop in the latest version of V (with the latest 3 patches in the mirror) - im gonna
test it, then post it here. It'd be good to have some of you
test it too.
mod6: i'll give it a go as soon as I get the soba out and
test the PVS.
mod6: i need to
test PVS a bit more actually tho.
mod6: which is a good thing that the
test picked it up.
mircea_popescu: yes, but it's necessarily a meaningless
test seeing how wikipedia itself is not notable.
pete_dushenski: maybe 24hr qc

ben_vulpes: i only had the opportunity to
test it recently, failed to even build prerequsites and so cannot sign it. i also do not intend to build another openbsd system in the immediate future.
phf: basically the patch being dropped created bunch of work for me, that i don't have bandwidth to pursue. (i.e. produce a v version,
test on stator)
phf: fwiw openbsd didn't make it through v-ification either, it was designed to work cross platform, but i believe there were makefile modifications since, that didn't include it. i don't actively run openbsd, so can't integration
test the result
ben_vulpes: anyways, interesting thing, polarbeard, perhaps i shall
test it some day along side the tools written by people i trust like mod6 and trinque and asciilifeform.
mircea_popescu: asciilifeform he included a
test suite, and a list of its outputs, which is impressive.
assbot: Logged on 22-01-2016 15:31:49; mircea_popescu: the problem with tests is that you can't

mircea_popescu: 5) Function Macros And Recursion <<< "What ended up being the bug in my preprocessor for this

mod6: <+mircea_popescu> well, i do think to some degree your patch should be restated, but not in the sense of replacing it altogether << yeah, ok. i'll do some work here today / tonight, do a re-
test and the hopefully get it to the ML before the week is out.
mod6: <+mircea_popescu> asciilifeform
http://dpaste.com/26VKRQG << re: There is no reason to

mod6: ok changes made. gonna recompile send some

mod6: <+hanbot> eh, can't complain. got a sunburn, acquired another deskbox...speaking of which i'ma want to
test trinque's makefile bonanza soon, may be firing derpquestions. << cool! i need some sunshine myself.

☟︎☟︎ mod6: <+thestringpuller> yea it exited when the connect failed << would someone like to
test this & log their results so we can put this one to bed? basically should be able to start up bitcoind, run a `ps ax`, `netstat -an` and an `ifconfig`, then a `./bitcoind stop`, then the `ps ax`, `netstat -an` and `ifconfig` again to see whats happening - perhaps even a tail of the last 100 lines of the debug log...

pete_dushenski: mod6: cool thanks. i'll let you know how this
test goes :)
BingoBoingo: Quent: They really don't. The
test is whether or not node sealed in concrete without admin port needs chiseled out or not
mod6: ok -- so in this scenario (before the introduction of '
test-v054-REL-wLayout.vpatch') the '
test-layout.vpatch' is a disconnected node - its own root/leaf if you like
mod6: But I don't need to tag every file in the '
test-layout.vpatch' to tie it in, just one file will suffice.
mod6: the main problem here is going to be tagging the MANIFEST file, like i did in the '
test-v054-REL-wLayout.vpatch' -- because it'll be a clearsigned file. no way to 'tag' a file like that.
mod6: so here's what we'd look like after we add all of the new makefile+configuration files+directories via the '
test-layout.vpatch' & a '
test-v054-REL-wLayout.vpatch' to tie it all together:
mod6: V with the latest changes { post-press hash checking & use .wot/.seals in pwd } seems to press a new vpatch containing new dirs + files within (where the vpatch has no antecedents) -- this is only a
