ben_vulpes: mircea_popescu: once upon a time there was an s.nsa expense line for ~"servers for nascent isp", would you sell one or both of those to
pizarro?
hanbot: waiting for
pizarro people to figure out php-mysql. from what i can tell they've been hacking at it all week.
ben_vulpes: btw douchebag are you following the shared hosting php saga in #
pizarro?
trinque: 319899 blox on my
pizarro node
mod6: The current thinking is that this server still here will be racked locally to make use of it; as soon as we have pricing, and maybe a less item of less value shipped successfully, we'll have this one couriered down to
Pizarro.
mod6: So here I am writing up the SoBA, looking for a log reference to where either I or ben_vulpes said that only *one* of The Foundation's Two (newly bought servers for
Pizarro racking) made it down there.
mod6: diana_coman: thanks for your careful reading of the
Pizarro Feb statement, the error has been corrected, I believe.
mod6: jurov^ The above is a
Pizarro invoice for services rendered to The Bitcoin Foundation during the Month of March. Please remit the amount indicated to the address indicated in the deed. Thanks in advance! Please let me know if you have any questions.
lobbes: I could always just slap up a separate gribble instance with this new
pizarro shell tho. May be the cleanest that way actually.
mod6: BingoBoingo: re !!down that man. I don't have time to read through all this nonsense to pick out 3 important lines to
pizarro.
mircea_popescu: i suppose a logical next step for
pizarro is to have a bot dedicated to listing who's on boxes, what the load is like etc.
mircea_popescu: now on to the issue of the vps. is
pizarro coming up with something in short enough order it's worth having the whole genesis mp-wp wait on it, or rather should more business go away and hanbot pick herself yet another rando vps host ?
deedbot: diana_coman rated BingoBoingo 3 << Qntra and
Pizarro ISP; moved to Uruguay for TMSR and learnt a LOT in the process; best hired hands I saw at work around in a long while
a111: Logged on 2018-03-05 05:41 mircea_popescu: well, this is a fundamental, at least to me, service
pizarro is offering, GENUINE raid. ie, raid installed by republican hands out of genuine components etc.
diana_coman: mircea_popescu, how many fg-s was the s.mg server with
pizarro meant to have?
mod6: now (there are links to me doing so in #
pizarro) I have locked the modes to +cnt for now.

☟︎ trinque: at any rate, this needs a longer look. we don't need to be going "oh upstream broke us" again in a month. meanwhile I don't want to hold anyone up setting up a
pizarro box.
trinque: since we're discussing cuntoo in
pizarro, and it's more generally relevant, I'm moving the thread here.
trinque: I'd like to know the cheeky bastard that invites him *after*
Pizarro gets rolling.
mircea_popescu: well, this is a fundamental, at least to me, service
pizarro is offering, GENUINE raid. ie, raid installed by republican hands out of genuine components etc.
☟︎ ben_vulpes: that box is hosting both qntra and
pizarro's web presence, and then on top of that it's splitting a 1u with another piece of hardware (right BingoBoingo ?), so something hilarious like .003 btc this month? i was planning to host it as a service to the republic tbh, especially since the machine it's on is running
pizarro's website as well
mircea_popescu: so something like "
pizarro incorporated, issued 1`100`000 shares with a par value of 100 satoshi each, subscribed by mod6 (500`000) ; asciilifeform (500`000) and TBF (100`000)" would be more in the regular form of these things.
mod6: ah, yeah, it's slightly more grey than the others. stars here: jurov: ben_vulpes: and the foundation loan == Stock Warrant #1 in
pizarro's report?
mod6: mircea_popescu: Can I get your opinion on this quick regarding the Charter for
Pizarro?
mod6: One thing, I don't think I ever mentioned yet; I intend to fill The Bitcoin Foundation's board seat on
Pizarro's board. Unless anyone objects to this.
ben_vulpes: mod6: i'll do the 5 for 0.7838890 btc; that's a 10% markup from
pizarro's cost plus ~20usd for shipping
ben_vulpes: having wallet commands would be handy, unless mircea_popescu wants to see
pizarro invoices/payments in #trilema
trinque: don't know if that's interesting to
pizarro, but it's coming.
ben_vulpes: sweet trinque does that mean i can get deedbot in #
pizarro then?
mod6: (Not to be confused with the 10 that
Pizarro needs a quote for)
a111: Logged on 2018-02-23 15:32 mircea_popescu: incidentally mod6 : given teh centrality of teh work he's doing, do you suppose teh foundation could be prevailed upon to give lobbes a grant so he can get himself a shiny dedicated box with
pizarro ? could for instance
http://btcbase.org/log/2018-02-21#1785458 work as teh application ?

☝︎☟︎ mircea_popescu: ben_vulpes for instance ; or machines
pizarro thinks are worth racking, with pros and cons. or anything really.
mod6: also to go along with
pizarro's hardware, etc.
mod6: 3)
Pizarro to signoff on 2U reserved for The Foundation.
ben_vulpes: hey mod6 if there's demand for boxes, would you be averse to selling the machines we got for the foundation to
pizarro for leasing on? we can always get another couple of machines, it's not as though the two we bought for the foundation are super important to get racked right now; i'm sure other folks might be willing to rent 'em out and that'd be a great thing for
pizarro's cashflow
ben_vulpes: not yet, still wrapping up the first courier run. when you say gearlist, you mean "machines
Pizarro is buying and will lease out"?
ben_vulpes: trinque: can i get the
pizarro website's rss feed added to deedbot?
mod6: I'll link my questions in #
pizarro.
mod6: "asciilifeform, mod6, and the chairmen of The Bitcoin Foundation will each appoint one board member, hire ben_vulpes to manage
Pizarro, and hire BingoBoingo to perform remote hands labor."
mod6: I hope that it would be an initial amount that will get
pizarro off the launch pad.
mircea_popescu: quite literally, "measure to so and so is coming before
pizarro board ; ben_vulpes is voting x, mod6 is voting y, foundation should vote z according to so and so considerations..."
mod6: What I think is that it maybe clearer, better for
Pizarro to have private investment -- especially since the two co-chairs are also going to be involved in either "management" or "board seats".
mod6: trinque: to me, it's not that expendature is inappropriate, that's not what I'm saying. I think trying to help
Pizarro get off the launch pad is a great thing for the Foundation to do.
a111: Logged on 2018-02-19 16:45 mod6: there might be a better way to go about this without the Foundation's involvement. Like I said before, I could have just put up my own coin for this. Just again, as discussed yesterday, the thought was "Can The Bitcoin Foundation do something here to help
Pizarro, for the Republic and the betterment of Bitcoin as a whole?"
ben_vulpes: trinque: i maintain that the expenditures to date have been appropriate and legitimate, but am compelled by mod6's argument that actually embroiling the foundation in the ownership of
Pizarro complicates it unnecessarily
mod6: trinque: This is a very good question, and so far, other than
Pizarro, adds up to 1 renewal of a domain name.
mod6: What I'm offering, if it is more palatable, is for me to return the Foundation's money and make that whole again, and instead offer up a 5 BTC private / or gift to
Pizarro.
mod6: When thinking about how to re-structure, or re-word some of the
Pizarro Charter, it becomes way simpler, and easier with The Bitcoin Foundation out of the equation. And probably would provide for a better structure, a more sound structure, perhaps.

Pizarro, for the Republic and the betterment of Bitcoin as a whole?"
☟︎ mod6: So reading through some of the comments, questions, concerns rasised by mircea_popescu, and diana_coman, I started thinking yesterday that maybe -- since there are specifically hard-to-draw lines between mod6's role as Foundation Co-Chair, ben_vulpes's role as Foundation Co-Chair and their roles as ``managers'' or ``management'' in
Pizarro ...
mircea_popescu: such a fine rant it was, too! however, i looked over teh
pizarro logs, an' there's evidently no room for it. so good for you! my poor rant, now has nowhere to go an' nothing to do ;/

Pizarro, and I think it's great the foundation picked this up. while i think the particulars will likely prove challenging, i would have no problem putting faith, time, etc behind mod6 and ben_vulpes. a few weeks ago, that wo
