mircea_popescu: remember when the icbc had no listing in reich paper mills, except for something tiny in the pink sheets ?
mircea_popescu: apparently apple could buy russia ; but icbc, which not only "could" but ACRTUALLY BUYS america (not the fucking us shithole, THE WHOLE CONTINENT), that dun exist, never happened, etc.
mircea_popescu: anyway, didn't you get some reply from ivan turbinka or somesuch ?

mircea_popescu: hey. if security were an objective state, trompi wouldn't have centered the software of females around it.
mircea_popescu: see alf, I TOLD YOU teh chinese will break it. did i tell you ?
mircea_popescu: the whole dispute re theory of future of computing, years ago, was you making the (otherwise very solid) case for nsa/tivo-ization, and me saying "i betcher the chinese will break it, inadvertently".
mircea_popescu: and you were "they're dumb as rocks". which is true, they are, there's no dumber beast than the asian. nevertheless -- to break it inadvertently they don't need deliberate, directed effort. they just need to be numerous and take themselves seriously. which they are.
mircea_popescu: goes right back to the tmsr principle of security through modularization.
BingoBoingo: and yet, we live in the future and it is awesome
mircea_popescu: i expect the indirection layer between "reality as is" and "reality as perceptible", rudimentary as it is, should be entirely suffcicient to go from hurr durr as displayed by academics to actual science.

mircea_popescu: it's an idea that sounds great in theory, and works ok while it's new, because only golda meirs and margaret thatchers make it in. but on the long term, the fundamental whorish substrate of the female, biologically conditioned to trade cocksucking for "safety", surfaces and fucks everything up.
shinohai: Theresa May gonna cuck the entire continent.
mircea_popescu: if she gets a chance to, totally going to "leadersheep"

God has placed men as the authority (head) over women, and therefore they need to submit to this authority. Moreover, this authority was established from the very beginnin
trinque: for all I know that happened in the translation to turdlang.
danielpbarron: "are to be" is the author of that article's words; not scripture.
jhvh1: danielpbarron: [KJV] 1 Corinthians 14:34 :: Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.

mod6: trinque, danielpbarron, et al. thx. got X built, gcc 4.9.2, etc. on the new laptop.
☟︎ danielpbarron: it's only in church that women shouldn't speak, and I don't know of very many true churches
diana_coman: I find funny all the talk of no-speak, what
mircea_popescu: yeah, but it's only funny until someone loses an eye. to wit, suppose your job was to find some woman qualified to speak -- other than you. preferably, 21 something, pr pisi.
shinohai: Perhaps because diana_coman is equal to any 10 other women I know.
diana_coman: mircea_popescu, not sure I'd have less trouble finding a man really; I get what you mean though
mircea_popescu: hey, im not much in favour of putting "men" of the sort in positions of power either.
mircea_popescu: whole "position of power" bs is so much statal crap. but on the positive side, it's definitely wringing itself out of existence, as finely exemplified by teh "tangerine in chief" etc. what exact power is it ?
mircea_popescu: i dunno why the pantsuits were so aggro re trump's twitter account. whole fucking JOB is little more than a pretext for putting "trump official" on your twitter.
mircea_popescu: blows dat dick like statal "positions of power" meant something.
trinque: my lady friend put it to me thus, that woman can behave like a man in certain realms, but often means cutting off a tit, like the (possibly apocryphal) amazon woman archer thing.
diana_coman: tbh I am not sure I see much to really distinguish this sort of "it makes me happy" from the "mud makes me happy"
trinque: generalizations that broad being easily falsified and so on
mircea_popescu: obama i understand. basically, tiganu' satului elected mayor. he's gonna be fucking thrilled, look ma, i'm on top of the world.
mircea_popescu: ro commies did exactly that sort of thing also, back in the early days.
mircea_popescu: trinque i suppose the whole amazon loped tit thing was commentary re "stop being so damned nurturing" and the whole lacedemonian cultural shock.
diana_coman: trinque, perhaps; I don't quite buy this cutting off a tit but I can't say I spent a lot of time on it as such
diana_coman: mircea_popescu, mama lu' stefan cel mare? lmao
trinque: diana_coman: girl's also part cherokee; apparently they'd solve the cognitive dissonance by saying "ah, her? she's got a man's spirit!" and leave it at that
mircea_popescu: diana_coman yeah, and that whole "because fuck your race" thing.
diana_coman: trinque, I saw that approach in practice, yes

danielpbarron: strange thing is i can take the drive (that is, that which shows up as /dev/sda) out and put it in an identical machine and it will boot with the lba32 thing
danielpbarron: no, but they are the "same version" as reported by themselves
danielpbarron: the one i got it working on reports a slightly newer version, but i suspect this fix would work on the other one with same version
