mod6: asciilifeform: sure thing, will do.
mod6: i have a bunch of trb work queued up too -- need to put some effort into that next few weeks.
mod6: and that's working pretty great. just now digging into comba and other higher-level ones. not writing tests on those yet -- just studying, reading.
mod6: i've written like 22 unit tests around various functions/procs
mod6: been studying ffa most of the month.
mod6: yeah, kinda interesting little project there.
mod6: there's also a few other things mentioned in the thread above.

mod6: heh, 'spangle the log'
mod6: i don't know if it is doing this any longer, or if it does zips or whatever. no idea.
mod6: and it was pretty nifty that it had archived all of the pastes.
☟︎ mod6: i did this recently when looking at the rsa thing that happened back in like august of '15
mod6: well... he's just saying if he wants ~something~ put up. (right?) much like i use mod6.net
mod6: so, yeah, perhaps come up with a plan, and hand it in to the foundation, and we'll consider.
mod6: but if people did wanna emplace some thing somewhere your bot could be a good way to go with a reasonable pricing model.
mod6: much like, I stuck a bunch of dependant files in deedbot. that obviously is probably not the best way to do that.
mod6: like... if I want to stick a porn movie in the archive... sure, i should be able to pay some nominal fee perhaps.
mod6: however... to the point of archiving things, say >1Mb, then by all means.
mod6: yeah, i think it could be pretty minimal. and be a non-annoying choice.
mod6: ben_vulpes: thoughts? if given a proposal on this that is a resonable, should the foundation consider?
mod6: cool. but i don't think invoicing everyone for this is gonna work.
mod6: if it comes down to cash to get the drives and set up the stuff, maybe the foundation can support that.
mod6: so, maybe a drive that grabs the pastes, and links and stores them somehow. then make another that backs up the first.
mod6: shinohai: yeah, both would be super helpful.
mod6: archive the pastes?
mod6: <+asciilifeform> in other holyfuqs: hotelshower has A HOSE << like a garden hose?
mod6: <+asciilifeform> imho mine was quite readable << i never had any problem.

mod6: happy travels, Sir.
mod6: thanks for the update
mod6: shinohai: werd. about to log back in actually & checkout the mining today
mod6: anyway, have a good night :]
mod6: originals were taken with a much older version of ent than the new.
mod6: ok, just ran 2 quick tests on different box. results are very similar. different # of samples on new ones, however old|new: 25%|27.42%, 50%|53.57% respectively
☟︎☟︎☟︎☟︎ mod6: (just to see if I get a different value, or non-round value for X^2)
mod6: ima try using an ent on a different box against some of the runs that I did previously...
mod6: yeah, not too sure. i've also never looked at the `ent` code.
mod6: There's a bunch of in-depth information in this book, I highly suggest if examining these results.
mod6: if (by interpolation in the table) V lies between the 5% and 10% entries, or the 90% and 95% entries, the numbers might be ``almost suspect.''" -- Knuth, The Art of Computer Programming Vol. 2, Seminumerical Algorithms pp. 46,47
mod6: "If V is less than the 1% entry or greater than the 99% entry, we reject the numbers as no sufficiently random. If V lies between the 1% and 5% entries or between the 95% and 99% entries, the numbers are ``suspect'';
mod6: yah, i'll go grab the book, standby.
mod6: might be in the logs
mod6: ben_vulpes: seems fine. iirc, and i don't have the book in hand at the moment, but knuth outside certain boundaries is suspect.
mod6: i'd have to look at other's results, can't recall off the top of my head.
mod6: ben_vulpes: ah, i seem to remember reading about the X^2 percentiles in knuth. mine in particular came out pretty round ya. or do you mean "your" in the general sense?
mod6: and rear-facing, why not, right
mod6: would figure that would be something you would want in-cage.
mod6: gens, sure. do you want to share power conditioning equip?
☟︎ mod6: <+BingoBoingo> <ben_vulpes> mhm; estimated as 42*.3kW << Of those 42U, 1 or 2 go to switch. Then you gotta keep a sane heat envelope lest some alf-weird cook everything and piss off the neighbors. 42U ends up turning into something like 20 servers apparently. << minus space for UPSs
mod6: i lul'd at your encounter with a "martial arts expert" in The Mechanic.
mod6: good! just catching up on the log here.
