mod6: mircea_popescu: ya.
mod6: also, to the readers, if power flux is a problem, best to use some power conditioning (UPS) of some sort - shut down and back up your chain as you can to help prevent against BDB corruption from bad-shutdown, etc.
mod6: 1286 setstate(std::ios::failbit, feof(file) ? "CAutoFile::read : end of file" : "CAutoFile::read : fread failed");

mod6: fwiw, it looks like these lines from serialize.h :
mod6: i basically did a recent full sync with nothing but feeding into eatblock, from cut blk files, took ~6 days iirc.
mod6: however, i might try a hand at keeping all but the most recent blk###.dat files, cutting them up with blkcut, then feeding them back in with eatblock.
mod6: that's probably the simplest answer :[

mod6: so it's been suggested that we change 'trusted-nodes' to 'advertised republican nodes', which is fine with me. but the file that these live in is called 'trusted-nodes.html'. Since this is now linked in trilema 'how-to-participate', should we do a redirect to a new file, or just change the filename, or just change its contents?
mod6: mircea_popescu: need some help when you're around.
mod6: To all L1 who do not have a TRB node yet, please start this process now-ish, and let me know if you need a hand standing one up when ready.
mod6: Yah. My node is like ~$60/mo.
mod6: I guess I'd like to see all of L1 at least have a trb node at least sync'ing by years end. That's a good goal.
mod6: well, I think we should certainly encourage all to run a node. but yeah, maybe give it some time. my node is close, but 20k blocks behind currently.
mod6: Ok all: trinque, ben_vulpes, asciilifeform, pete_dushenski, mircea_popescu : I have updated the trusted-nodes page, please take a look and verify that the information for your nodes is correct, thank you!
http://thebitcoin.foundation/trusted-nodes.html mod6: <+mircea_popescu> mod6 since these are public and publicly known, how about adding an irc name next to the ip ? so i know who to talk to. << sure, working on the updates now...
mod6: Ok, sure. Let me know how it goes.
mod6: trinque: sounds good.
mod6: Basically, operators are responsible for keeping the nodes going.
mod6: Occasionally when I'm trying to do a test or some such thing.
mod6: fwiw, I almost never connect to these myself.
mod6: Attention rest of the node operators: Can you vouch for your node being online? Ideally, it should have 95% or better uptime.
mod6: And as far as I know, that one is re-syncing.
☟︎ mod6: mircea_popescu: hey! cool. thanks for adding that in there. lemme look those IPs up quick.
mod6: Damn heat + humidity up here is starting to get annoying everyday.
mod6: I should have gotten a few.
mod6: I'm open to suggestions for re-name.
mod6: I don't think these belong permanently in the SoBA each month. It would be probably a good idea for individuals who own these nodes to sign their Node IP and send that to the btc-dev mailing list. However, I seem to recall some resistance to that.
mod6: werd, was helpful info indeed.
mod6: pete_dushenski: yeah ssd helps
mod6: maybe that's encouraging news for mike_c who just started his sync adventure
