mircea_popescu: hanbot a moment's meditation reveals that i dun really want to clickl a bunch of boxes. ideally, i'd click once, and shift-select a set of files. does php even support this in any sense ?
mircea_popescu: <input type="file" multiple=""/> << apparently this exists now.
hanbot: i get whatcha mean, yeah. looks like specifying multiple and fucking around with arrays should make it work thusly, i'll see if i can coax it.

mircea_popescu: btw, do you have the rss feed for that article via deedbot ?
mircea_popescu: (ie !!subscribe http://trilema.com/2018/euloras-communication-protocol-restated/feed will have it pop pms on any new comments to that article)
diana_coman: mircea_popescu, I tend to check it anyway for ref
diana_coman: but yes, I should set it
mircea_popescu: just wanted to make sure you know about it.
mircea_popescu is sitting here watching 11MB/s transfers... what a pleasure.
diana_coman: hm, does this need to be in here? I tried in pm and it says it failed
diana_coman: !!subscribe http://trilema.com/2018/euloras-communication-protocol-restated/feed

a111: Logged on 2018-04-24 02:10 trinque: the !!subscribe lever is detached, yes, since it used to run back to a pretty sad pile of duct tape.
mircea_popescu: oh
mircea_popescu: i guess it must be.
mircea_popescu: im guessing there's no real need to have the rss bot melded into deedbot rly.

trinque: diana_coman: you want these aimed at you in pm?
mircea_popescu: heh. hey spyked... what became of ye ? ☟︎
BingoBoingo: In other lolz, I got a phone call warning me of planned power outage for my block tomorrow
diana_coman: trinque, yes please
asciilifeform: BingoBoingo: !
asciilifeform: BingoBoingo: how long outage ? and can you arrange to be there when it happens ?
asciilifeform: cuz it's a mighty convenient time for interloper to diddle boxes.
asciilifeform: ( and peculiarly coincident with trinque's deedbot hiccups from last night )
trinque: diana_coman: done

asciilifeform: trinque: portage snake seems pretty long btw -- what did you end up being stuck on ?
asciilifeform has a box ready for beta cuntoo any day of the week
asciilifeform: BingoBoingo: plz post the exact announced outage time asap
mircea_popescu: haha wtf.
mircea_popescu: BingoBoingo definitely gotta be there.
mircea_popescu: da fuck "planned" is this, "tomorrow".
trinque: asciilifeform: not stuck, swapped onto wallet work for a bit. improved the deposit handling and swept a bunch of small outputs.
trinque: I'm running one of my primary work boxes on cuntoo atm, working great. I'm going to try to cut a release during the holiday.
asciilifeform: neato
trinque: just need to make an ebuild of phf's latest, haven't done that yet, and to see what deps it will require in the genesis.
asciilifeform: trinque: i'm quite looking forward to adult cuntoo , eventually would like to move whole buncha boxes to it
trinque: since its set up to have classical gentoo portage as "just another repo" I haven't had a single problem with building things that aren't yet vpatch-ebuilds
trinque: the ebuild porting story is downright comfortable.
BingoBoingo: asciilifeform mircea_popescu: Power outage is not for the rack
BingoBoingo: Is residential power outage
asciilifeform: aaaaa
asciilifeform: lol
mircea_popescu: you mean at your house ?

asciilifeform: imho worry is waste of cpu.

diana_coman hears asciilifefore singing don't worry, be happy
asciilifeform: eh 'happy' optional
diana_coman: I'm scratching my head more at the "how I was surviving without a smart phone and much longer could I live like this." + notebook maps etc but I suppose I'm essentially already too old to fully grasp the phone attachment thing
asciilifeform: but worry is simply empty loop. ( and i think mircea_popescu hooks'em up to 220v when he finds'em doing it )
asciilifeform: diana_coman: pnoje-gps-ism is wildly popular in usa, where folx drive 100+km erry day and thing (nominally) walks'em around crashes/jams

diana_coman: I can't quite tell for sure what she means by worry i.e. if empty loop or not
mircea_popescu: or if anything.
asciilifeform: mircea_popescu: presuming we're talking about an actual critter rather than eliza, can then assume that if it put down words, then meant ~sumthing~ ?
asciilifeform: rather than rng hiss
mircea_popescu: we can't so assume, because natural language has no definite meaning.
mircea_popescu: we use it by defining arbitrary "gate voltages" if you will, of "something-vs-nothing", but these are cultural, contextual and personal.
mircea_popescu: hence, literature.
asciilifeform: it's supposed to be gate voltage, yes. i.e. narrow down the phase space of possible meaning
mircea_popescu: right.
asciilifeform: ( and while we're in 'gate voltages', imho 'worry' is exactly like parasitic oscillation -- whether in electrical machine or the vibration that slowly destroys a sad washing machine )
mircea_popescu: aha.

mod6: Hi, was it decided that we would change vpatch names to have the word 'keccak' in them? Or simply keep the same as before?
mod6: (I made a trb keccak tree over here, just about to test it out. So far, that was my only question. Once done testing and things, will bake blog posts about diana_coman's vk.pl and the grinding of the keccak vtree.)
BingoBoingo: In local news: McDonald's second best place to work per the paper of record https://www.elobservador.com.uy/nota/-cuales-son-los-mejores-lugares-para-trabajar-en-uruguay--20181120134523

mod6: Thanks for the info asciilifeform. For now, I've just named them the same as the original ones, for testing here on my own. Was able to press with `vk.pl` successfully, and build a trb from that pressed keccak vtree.
diana_coman: mod6, as asciilifeform says, essentially it's preferred to keep same; for ref, logs discussion http://btcbase.org/log/2018-09-19#1851864 ☝︎
