assbot: Logged on 30-07-2015 15:37:38; mircea_popescu: i don't solve problems. i just throw away other people's solutions.
punkman: pete_dushenski: I don't buy that the crown has any control whatsoever against the botmasters
pete_dushenski: http://log.bitcoin-assets.com/?date=07-09-2015#1264735 << also being silly ? i really don't disagree with your assessment of your personal situation at the end of the day. i mean, how could i ? but nor do i share your uniquely russian fatalism. ☝︎

mod6: Well, one thing I don't want is a persistant store of the parents and children of a given patch. I want it to read it fresh everytime so ensure things aren't diddled or cosmic-ray'd or just stale or something. Not sure if that's what was changed on punkmans side. But I want the one that I use to do all of this in one shot.
mod6: <+ascii_modem> http://log.bitcoin-assets.com/?date=05-09-2015#1263375 << catastrophically bad idea !!! << I don't want it to cache the stuff to disk each time either. I want it to do everything from start, ensures that everything is fresh and !stale. ☝︎

trinque: shinohai: yeah I have pictures of the relevant stickers with all that, but don't give a siht
mircea_popescu: (this event actually happened. splendid ass, /me grabs it, woman turns unamused and asks me what i'm doing, i retort that i'm innocently grabbing your ass, she says don't do that and i say alright.)
mats: what qualifies as 'military'? i don't believe the army operates any uas with arms
thestringpuller: Yes, Bitcoin will go up in value just by people holding it. That's how commodities work. I don't see anyone "using" gold.

phf: trinque: i don't have a reference for that rednecks that i go snowboarding and sometimes hunting with are not very religious. they just say all the tv talking points, abortion, gays, liberal elite, etc.

trinque: I don't get the sense that Tim Cook would beat someone with one if he didn't approve of it
phf: ben_vulpes: i'm not sure why that would be a controversial point. how does something like trig functions work in python? they don't, they are a call out to system level math library

phf: which wouldn't be a problem in a traditional c code, but in case of gnupg half of the code seems to have hidden, side channel concerns, that i just don't have yet enough experience in practical crypto to grok
phf: sure, but i did some large scale projects using ffi (including things like modifying arrays on heap from inside c libraries), so i don't think it's necessarily dead end. just that gnupg doesn't make it easy at all and requires basically full environment scaffolding before you can do anything useful
mod6: i guess i don't mean to confuse.. was just thinking about it in the capacity where a stripped down box is being used.
mod6: yeah, i don't grasp that part fully yet. but it does make sense from genesis up through patches/bitcoin-asciilifeform.4-goodbye-win32.vpatch
