diana_coman: upon asking my moldavian ISP for the data re attack on my server, they sent over a .pcap file + a .pdf file with an analysis; it says max 1.5Gbits/s on Oct 4th; the whole thing seems to be coming in from 8 IPs; I still have to look at the .pdap in detail

diana_coman, honestly i ddin't want to use them because moldavia right next to ru geograpically, but i guess they're making it strictly impossible not to. i will have to sit down lobbes' thing somewhere as per our contract, and considering it's been a fucking month ALREADY i'd rather not have it waited, especially indefinitely.

diana_coman: Not if you are using the qntra name servers instead of a host file to resolve
BingoBoingo:
diana_coman: The DNS server IPs are now both down. Shared server is still up.

diana_coman, listen, take the weekend off / do some writing / whatever you don't need the pizmess for.

diana_coman, is pizarro smg server farm even accessible atm ?
ossabot: Logged on 2019-10-04 22:01:52 mp_en_viaje: personally has no intention of pulling the plug over
diana_coman 's inability to do smg work today because of this for instance ;

diana_coman, okay, just for you, the next paragraph :
mp_en_viaje:
diana_coman, i offered them a server back in 2011 ; and then throughout cca 2014. they never took me up on it, and eventually sold out to usg agency
mp_en_viaje:
diana_coman, how is a woman exactly oppposite ?!
mp_en_viaje:
diana_coman, to me it seems ~guaranteed~ to happen if truly "exactly opposite"
mp_en_viaje:
diana_coman, are you talking of post kill-bill tarantino ? because in that we agree, i banned him.

mp_en_viaje: hm... apparently
diana_coman 's doesn't either. i guess i must've caught self in own fingers somehow
mp_en_viaje: in other minutia, since i'm using
diana_coman 's logviewer i notice that ancient behaviour of, if you click on a link on the page page is reloaded came back. asciilifeform 's viewer does not do this for some reason.

diana_coman: asciilifeform: uhm, how does that reasoning go? they fire less at my box because one box or what? anyways, is there at least any concrete communication from piz's data centre re what they are doing otherwise exactly?

diana_coman: if latech is to be believed, it's a rotating ddos
ossabot: Logged on 2019-10-04 14:31:54 asciilifeform:
diana_coman: that being said, i also suspect that yer box is only standing because piz is taking 90% of the fire

diana_coman: all 3 loggers seem synced atm; ossabot is back too, though still waiting to find out wtf happened exactly.

BingoBoingo: asciilifeform: I don't see a simpler narrative for why
diana_coman's bot went down too.
BingoBoingo: <
diana_coman> that's why I didn't really bother re cloak because the ip is public anyway << Even the most trivial barrier does something, like prevent lurkbots from harvesting addresses as they connect.

diana_coman: asciilifeform: why use timestamps rather than log lines number though? I don't get how is that better at all; ie give syncer "last known ok line", should drop anything with id > that for the chan; then import everything with id > that from the reference
snsabot: Logged on 2019-10-03 21:21:37 asciilifeform: trinque,
diana_coman , et al :
draft!!! of semi-auto sync mechanism. is only ~demo~, it cannot write to a db, only proposes changes.
lobbes: asciilifeform,
diana_coman I also have #lobbes registered with fleanode and live. Feel free to include in your loggers if you want. No archives to snarf really
snsabot: Logged on 2019-10-03 16:06:25 asciilifeform:
diana_coman: aite. proposed algo , is a manually-triggered item that 1) takes a 'breakage point', i.e. last known correctly logged line represented by tuple [chan, index] . 2) finds its timestamp 3) drops errything in db postdating said timestamp 4) walks list of peer loggers, fetches for each enabled chan, errything from last-known-idx i to i+500 5) 4 is repeated until returns <500 6) then takes the ~longest~ s
snsabot: (ossasepia) 2019-10-03 asciilifeform:
diana_coman: there is 1 potential point of danger re the described syncer -- if the 'break line' chosen was ~itself~ imported from another bot, it may result in unwanted droppage ( there is no guarantee of monotonicity of timestamps except as written by ~one particular~ bot, atm )
snsabot: (ossasepia) 2019-10-03 asciilifeform:
diana_coman: this is correct, and in fact is moar serious, from mathematical pov, problem , than appears at 1st glance

diana_coman: i have reuploaded the reground vpatch with version in bot.py set correctly

diana_coman: bvt: no worries; I'll first just make the changes, deploy and see how it keeps on; though it took ossabot ~10 days before it fell down at all.

diana_coman: bvt: ah, I had this niggling thought that there *was* some patch I missed somehow; asciilifeform what was it with this/why didn't it make it into the sept vpatch?
