mod6: ascii_field: ok, all set. running & sync'ing actively with: ./bitcoind -datadir=/mnt/btc-dev/.bitcoin -myip=W.X.Y.Z -connect=M.P.I.P &
mod6: glad i asked!
mod6: anyway, no worries, i'll stop the sync, use -connect :]
mod6: you link that email from the stator email saying "MUST run as described in", which says to use -addnode.
mod6: the reason i did is because of: http://thebitcoin.foundation/ml/btc-dev/2015-June/000101.html
mod6: yeah? i used -addnode
mod6: ascii_field, mircea_popescu: am now pulling blocks from mp's seed with stator ☟︎
mod6: ascii_field: re: blkcut, neat!
mod6: <+ascii_field> i barf from it daily << lol
mod6: lol birling
mod6: forgot post this in here lastnight: http://thebitcoin.foundation/ml/btc-dev/2015-July/000106.html
mod6: asciilifeform: nice charts. wd.
mod6: thx for the update asciilifeform
mod6: yah, there's asciilifeform's way, and there's that python thing
mod6: glad I looked at that
mod6: i would have though with all the same version (pretty much) that they would have all been the same hashes.
mod6: im suprised they diverged that much.
mod6: yeah, totally agree.
mod6: january was pre SSL 1.0.1g
mod6: one was done in january, one in february, and one in march.
mod6: so one of them seems to be more screwed up than the others. but there were blocks like blk0009.dat & 10 where all were different.

mod6: these were fully sync'd up to ~320`000 blocks or so. they were shutdown after full sync was achieved. each goes upto like blk0017.dat
mod6: and all 3 of my blk0009.dat's do not match
mod6: huh, now i have one chain that has 2 that match and one that differs: f7ab989febce649e49f8373f1c5a5fbd44008dd21eaf16ce0d1b73e1070421f0 blk0008.dat && b1d0da3ff6b2b2d6da096f06cf7359ca98e08490ab61202f94468587f51aaee5 blk0008.dat ☟︎
mod6: *list
mod6: decimation: yours match mine, or mp's lis?
mod6: *seeded via irc
mod6: mine were sync'd with some pre-v0.5.3.1-RELEASE [ v0.5.3 + some patches ], sync'd the old way from irc.
mod6: yeah, i don't have any of those.

mod6: lol, im now doing 5-16 on all three chains at the same time: 02:42:27 up 2 days, 3:32, 5 users, load average: 2.88, 1.48, 0.71

mod6: i have 3 full-sync'd chains from between January and March, all have the same blk0001.dat hash: sha256sum blk0001.dat \ 7aac5826b91b4f87a2e9534e0e38e8d64ed21aff8a4eb8ff8dde4e726e67fe1a blk0001.dat ☟︎
mod6: ok cool
mod6: will this have any impact on the hashes that are posted here? http://www.loper-os.org/pub/turdsums/sums.txt.gz
mod6: well, i still had the build directory anyway. a list of patches & checksums is at the same URL nao: http://thebitcoin.foundation/doxygen/v0_5_3_1-wPatchesApplied/v0531-wPatchesApplied.txt
mod6: I did it like that because the list of patch names is far too long. makes it look kinda ridiculous in the header
mod6: and I can't find a backup
mod6: huh? no, im laughing because when I swapped the doxygens around (LR, to TB) i nuked the file that showed the patches included.
mod6: lol
mod6: awe jeeze
mod6: http://thebitcoin.foundation/doxygen/v0_5_3_1-wPatchesApplied/v0531-wPatchesApplied.txt
mod6: ok http://thebitcoin.foundation/doxygen/v0_5_3_1-wPatchesApplied/ has been updated
mod6: derp: http://thebitcoin.foundation/doxygen/v0_5_3_1-wPatchesApplied/
mod6: **NOTICE** I'll be updating the graphs in this: http://thebitcoin.foundation/v0_5_3_1-wPatchesApplied/ in about the next ~15 minutes. So if there's a hiccup, just wait a minute or six.
mod6: perfect, thanks!
mod6: <+mod6> plz clearsign your email, and attach a detached signature of the patch file << along with the patch itself i might add!
mod6: danielpbarron: yeah, i saw that. i thought that'd be enough. but maybe something else is up? anyway, you can send to me. I'll review, etc.
mod6: some detals on that are here: http://thebitcoin.foundation/ml/btc-dev/2014-December/000022.html
mod6: plz clearsign your email, and attach a detached signature of the patch file
mod6: ah, i don't think you're in assbot's L2. Sorry if I wasted your time. Just send the patch to me: modsix@gmail.com ☟︎
mod6: !up ascii_field
mod6: Salud!
mod6: <+Jautenim> shall i submit a patch to the mailing list? it's quite a simple fix << If you're in the WoT (looks like you are) feel free to submit a patch as you like.
mod6: Jautenim: sorry, I had it kinda mixed up. The patch link I posted is to resolve the issue where the libs and headers don't get copied over.
mod6: ah, ok yeah.
mod6: [ the relivant part here anyway is the alterations to auto.sh ]
mod6: that patch is here: http://thebitcoin.foundation/ml/btc-dev/2015-April/000082.html << this patch does a few other things too, might be worth a read through though to see how it aligns with what you had already done to your own local auto.sh.
mod6: nubs submitted a patch for that -- it'll be fixed in the next milestone for sure. thanks for the heads up Jautenim.
mod6: So that one should be fine now. Tomorrow, I'll update the graphs in this one: http://thebitcoin.foundation/doxygen/v0_5_3_1-wPatchesApplied/
mod6: I did remove the original http://thebitcoin.foundation/doxygen/v0_5_3_1/ source code browser for the one that was in /test/ with the Top->Bottom graphs.
mod6: Ok, just about done. And that's jsut about all for me tonight.
mod6: lotta stuff this month!
mod6: getting close though
mod6 is still going on this thing.
mod6: asciilifeform: re: ... the first time to carry out FULLY DETERMINISTIC tests ... << yeah this is great!
mod6: Since we all seem to like the Top->Bottom graphs better, I'll re-generate & post them possibly tonight. tomorrow at latest. i've still got about 30% left of SoBA to finish first.
mod6: decimation: thanks for the heads up on callgrind call graphs -- if IgProf (instead of gprof) can do that also, i'll definately build some when I finally get to those profiles. ☟︎
mod6: i have only horiz displays, and it looks way better for me too
mod6: this thing's documentation is kinda spotty, ironically
mod6: www.stack.nl/~dimitri/doxygen/manual/diagrams.html << check out the section about half way down that says "elements in the graphs generated by the dot tool have the following meaning:"
mod6: i should add that i can make these SVG graphs too, if that seems like it might be somehow better
mod6: asciilifeform && ascii_field ^^
mod6: alright, try it out here: http://thebitcoin.foundation/doxygen/test/ ☟︎
mod6: 1487 i guess
mod6: so.. there's like a bunch that might still go another directoin
mod6: out of like 1600 odd graphs, only ~1450 actually have a config with the standard directional line in there "rankdir"
mod6: i've orientated them Top->Bottom "TB"
mod6: i think maybe they should go the other direction tho? so anyway, I'm gonna put up a temp/test dir so you guys can take a look
mod6: ok actualy, those graphs dont looks as bad as I had thought.
mod6: decimation: ah, well, once i get this sorted out, maybe I can do something about that part too.
mod6: take a look through here if you like: http://thebitcoin.foundation/doxygen/v0_5_3_1/
mod6: ya call graphs
mod6: ah yeah this ^
mod6: at least it can be manipualted
mod6: i'll come back to this later.
