mod6: Let me work through it here...
mod6: asciilifeform: alright
mod6: BingoBoingo: I'm gonna look at your invoice numbers now.
mod6: As I said, I do not have much time. I do what I can. But I know it's not good enough.
mod6: The times that I've put in there are a bit subject, my irc client runs on UTC time, and the logs the same, and we've had DLST here this week. I've tried to be as honest with the thing as I can be.
mod6: Alright. I'll put together a blog post.
mod6: Well, in regards to the statement, specifically, I only got the draft of the statement from BingoBoingo on the 7th. And been going through it since then.
mod6: But maybe others disagree. I don't think it's 'a'.
mod6: Well, I think I have a lot on my plate, and we've discussed that. So I'd say 'c'. Overwhelmed. Too much to work on, and not enough time/hands to do it in.
mod6: I want to do this, and get a keccak vtree. I think I said as much at the time, just wanted to ensure that keccak was in working order before we moved to it. I thought that to be the most prudent thing to do.
mod6: I think this was just a misunderstanding, poor communication on my part.
mod6: is this in reference to the keccak vtree?
mod6: what do you mean about the 'hijack the foundation standards process' ?
mod6: (no offense to BingoBoingo who's doing as good of a job as can be expected with not much to go on)
mod6: I'm trying to get both BingoBoingo and myself better at this -- but as it is, it's like the blind leading the blind.
mod6: The acution for instance, was just a careless oversight on my part. But the accounting stuff, this is something pretty far out of my wheelhouse.
mod6: I am trying to learn all of this stuff ; It has been difficult as some things come easy for me, but a lot of what is important in what I think you're frustrated with has not come easy.
mod6: mircea_popescu: I'm sorry you've lost faith in me, and if I could some how fix it, I would. The only thing I can figure that is wrong here is that I'm in way over my head.
mod6: jurov didn't want to touch pizarro or its accounting. so that's out, I tried to hire him months ago.
mod6: ben_vulpes was going to look it over, but I don't think he had a chance.
mod6: I just have very little clue on this accounting stuff. And other things, it's apparent.
mod6: <+mircea_popescu> mod6 coming on the heels of the misspecced auction and so on, this looks terrifying. << Yeah, I screwed up the auction. I apologize. We had hoped to get some oversight on the last months statement from pizarro but it didn't happen. It might not even be incorrect, and BingoBoingo's draft might not be even incorrect.
mod6: An update on Pizarro's statement for October: BingoBoingo has a draft, of which I've poured through. We seem to have more BTC on hand then is adding up at the moment. So we're going to be auditing some previous statements to see where the problem might be.
mod6: <+BingoBoingo> In other updates: The Birthday card mailed in February has been recieved! << lol
mod6: Hey, thanks for the info lobbes. GL with the dentist.
mod6: Nice, thank you, Sir. :]
mod6: Sounds like a deal, thanks a ton jurov!
mod6: Any other objections to this? asciilifeform, BingoBoingo ?
mod6: !Qcalc 2934.06/6451.61
mod6: We will be using the same price amount per BTC:
mod6: I thought we had it covered with the two previous auctions, but jurov thankfully noted that we'd have been short.
mod6: Yes, that's correct. I didn't put in the correct amount.
mod6: i can see that arg, asciilifeform. lobbes are you opposed to an !Xclose <auction_number> : which would accept the current highest bid? mircea_popescu, et. al. is this a good idea?
☟︎ mod6: Not sure if cancel-toast would untoast the auction. I'd like there to be a record of the auction, so I'm fine to let it close by expiry.
mod6: asciilifeform: there is an !Xcancel, but not a close.
mod6: Also, please send me a btc addy to pay you at, will send the coins within 24 hours -- probably later today for sure.
mod6: If not, then jurov, please go ahead and send the wire to the DC ( you can use the same info from last time ). If you need the wire info again, please say so and I'll have BingoBoingo send it to you.
mod6: asciilifeform, BingoBoingo any objections here?
mod6: I'm prepared to accept the bid.
mod6: I'm not sure how to close the auction prematurely. But...
mod6: jurov: sure, sounds fine to me.
mod6: Ah, thanks for the updated notes file, Sir.
mod6: Thanks asciilifeform -- updated the Advertised Republican Node page.
mod6: *nod* good talk, I gotta step aside and yield the floor. gotta check on these preliminary report numbers.
mod6: I dunno, I love to start on a clean board when thinking through things. Otherwise my brain feels some how cluttered.
mod6: I would probably use slate + chalk myself if I wasn't so weirdly obsessive about needing to keep the board clean. I'd feel like I'd have to wash it all the time after erasure.
mod6: just makes your hair stand up on your arms?
mod6: ah, kinda was figuring as much. does it work?
mod6: what does the electricity do for ya?
mod6: interesting. I would have guessed you for a slate + chalk stick like prof at U.
mod6: Yeah, I bought a giant whiteboard just for that purpose.
mod6: asciilifeform: nice. I really need to get to that. I kinda went through a lot of it while you were working on it - but I really wanna sit down and work through each chapter. Got other things on the stack first tho.
mod6: Good to hear. Dark and rainy up here. Hope it's better wherever you all are at. :D
mod6: how goes alf, mircea_popescu ?
mod6: asciilifeform: hmm, interesting
mod6: ben_vulpes: cool, thanks.
mod6: jurov: go ahead and Xcancel your auction #1005, and plz to bid on mine (#1006)
☟︎ mod6: !Xbuy .311bn 100 2k wFF
mod6: lobbes: do you have a list of commands for auctionbot somewhere?
mod6: jurov: Ok, that's probably a better way : We'll start the auction, and you can bid on it. We'll do this going forward.
mod6: hanbot: Thanks for your thoughful response.
mod6: jurov: lobbes has it, I think an auction is the way to go here.
mod6: shinohai: nice! it's rare that i even hear of anyone else using Mutt. When I used to email in earnest, it's all i used.
mod6: jurov: Yeah, we'd love to have a wire sent by the 10th.
mod6: (mutt being a successor to elm)
mod6: <+asciilifeform> 'pine', 'elm' << i liked mutt with vi/gnupg integration
☟︎ mod6: I'd say just let his 9.5k ride, we'll get it eventually. meanwhile, I think we need another 2k. maybe jurov wants to put up an auction?
mod6: Hello, young log reader. Listen to your mom, she knows what she's talking about.
mod6: Sriracha + Skittles = ish.
mod6: werd. totally agree for the search for the truth.
