mod6: Here's what I come up with on my own, would be the Sum of the BTC on hand (in mod6's deebot account, minus the 0.08479669 that was in there previously to pizarro's BTC deposit), plus the BTC book value of the USD, and the BTC book value of the UYU:
mod6: Ok we're not getting the same sum of the tangible book values, did I add something in that I wasn't supposed to?
mod6: Before I do that, I forgot to sum the values in the book value column in the Tangibles table
mod6: ben_vulpes: qq on the UYU book value -- you listed 0.21648971 , but I get the above ^ am I doing that correctly? Or am I using a bad UYU/USD number?
mod6: So the USD Incoming/Outgoing table in the July provisional pizarro statement looks correct to me. The only thing I would adjust is the statement about Fiat expenses. Whereas, I agree that all the work could be done from the apartment and we no longer need the co-work space. I'm inclined to let BingoBoingo make the decision there, and it sounds like he wants to take it down to "part-time", which should red
asciilifeform: mircea_popescu: i suspect they dun want and can't use money for anyffing. they want miami.
mircea_popescu is particularly unimpressed by the sort of fucktard who goes all http://trilema.com/and-in-todays-lulz-the-obnoxious-cocksucker & http://trilema.com/2014/the-public-burning-of-bob-beck/ on me when i come offering ~a little~ actual money ; and then rolls over for usg's own "offers" of EXACTLY ZERO.
mircea_popescu: i'm not fucking impressed ; what the fuck, is it http://trilema.com/2017/in-scams-today-disk-less-terminal-sa-dba-laesquinadelamazmorra/#footnote_3_72501 hour now ?!
mircea_popescu: "corporate" dun even begin to describe it. after i fucked that moron's ugly ass-face in every conceivable venue, he's actually "bought" freenode to try and impress ?
a111: Logged on 2018-08-05 05:13 lobbes: Bah, it took me way too long to figure that out. Anyways, thanks to all who helped me troubleshoot (phf, ty for pointing me to the hyperspec; I found that documentation to be especially useful on educating myself on the kidergarten-level things)
diana_coman: asciilifeform, freed and answered; one of those days I will get around to relocating the blog too and restore its sanity re comments
asciilifeform: diana_coman: i think my comment went to your spam trap
lobbes: I'll be sure to include this tip in the eventual guide hinted at in >> http://blog.lobbesblog.com/2018/07/logbot-multiple-channels-corrected-on-gentoo-tips-n-tricks-for-the-uninitiated/#selection-551.26-551.132

lobbes: http://btcbase.org/log/2018-07-22#1837189 << in other news, I finally figured out my issue. I failed to notice a very crucial piece of the 'logbot-check-mode' method (http://btcbase.org/patches/logbot-genesis#selection-1265.19-1265.63). i.e. the bot's nick has to have irc mode set to +o or +v or else 'logbot-start-pg-thread' and 'logbot-send-outbox' will not be invoked. ☝︎
mod6: ben_vulpes: ok only had time today to start on reviewing the provisional july pizarro statement - going through your steps at the same time. so far, I can confirm the BTC incoming/outgoing is accurate.
a111: Logged on 2016-01-21 13:29 asciilifeform: 'if i make it what i think is the right size, it crashes!111'
asciilifeform: mircea_popescu: i expect the spammer folx will register their bots in short order. it takes ~0 work.
mircea_popescu: but i want to fully realise the republican advantage over the pantsuit morons. this situation where #trilema is safe "and so are their chans" is overt socialism redistributing goods from us to the moronherd.
mircea_popescu: anyway, tbh i'm mostly encouraging the utter collapse of freenode's "security" model. it should be obvious that lode/ae dorks could just as well REGISTER the spambots. it's a fully automated process, what's the problem, emails ? gimme a break. ☟︎
a111: Logged on 2018-08-04 22:05 asciilifeform: ben_vulpes: iirc i proposed at one time an intermediate item on the way to proper gossipd ( 'serpent'-ciphered tunneler to connect coupla ircd instances to each other, and ditto for users ( get otp cookie a la deedbot, get a key that's good for 1 tcp connect ) but so far instead followed mircea_popescu's advice re not wasting sweat on such a thing, but pushing with ffa so as to get with what to gossipd.
asciilifeform: phf: i was referring to http://btcbase.org/log/2018-08-04#1839467 variant. ☝︎
phf: asciilifeform: well, we don't have a gossipd, so our only move option is to take steps towards gossipd or leprotoilet. "i personally would prefer exodus from fleanode to happen on our schedule" exists at odds with both. it seems to ask for "faster gossipd" or "leprotoilet" now, hence at odds.
mircea_popescu: i don't see it.
mircea_popescu: and while at it, the essential part of "#b-a => #trilema transition happened" isn't even so much the (very extremely never-seen-before) narrow time wondows ; but the fact that ~it very much was~ on own fucking schedule. i don't recall having to hassle anyone about anything. it was a coupla days cuz it took me a coupla days, and it was a week because it took trinque, phf & gang a week.
mircea_popescu: lobbes you're overworked, last i checked!
asciilifeform: i'd like to avoid it entirely.
asciilifeform: phf: last thing i want on my boxes, tho, is yet another 1MB ball of c opensores publicly-tcpable liquishit.
asciilifeform: this being said, i personally would prefer exodus from fleanode to happen on our schedule, rather than in the wake of a catastrophic drop of it into complete unusability. ☟︎

asciilifeform: i'ma fix the links shortly.
asciilifeform: i admit i'm surprised that we were able to have one for this long.
mircea_popescu: ok so i've set r mode ; which means only registered users can join. this will directly resolve the join/part spamolade ; but in general it's quite in line with the narrowing of tolerance for self-important douchebaggery, precisely in the vein of http://trilema.com/2018/the-republic-without-mp/#selection-175.0-179.0 ; http://trilema.com/2018/how-things-have-changed/ etcetera.
mircea_popescu: THAT is the fucking problem, in quite those terms. that i somehow care about the morons. cuz i must, cuz i'm their mother or some dumb shit. but aaanyways.
mircea_popescu: is anything smaller than anglo "culture" ? i mean we're plumbing http://btcbase.org/log/2018-03-21#1788430 levels of tiny-ness over here. ☝︎
mircea_popescu: i can scarcely imagine a lulzier scene than argentina-borne monkeys inside german old diesel scrapmetal pile.
asciilifeform: mircea_popescu: as i understand, the .ar/.uy folk thought they could jury-rig a sort of 'alt-europe'.
asciilifeform: usg.red set'em up a 'pedo scandal'(tm) to remove politically unreliable (i've nfi , but presumably even in this set of fleas there is a set of more- and less- nsa-approved halves ) ; so fleanode.blue whine ( redditus bonsaikitten has no response mechanism aside from the whine )
mircea_popescu: did i just talk myself into a 10% bill increase ? :D
mod6: shit, I didn't even need to cancel the one for S.MG.
mod6: http://btcbase.org/log/2018-08-04#1839230 << Sorry all, I screwed this up. Will cancel all invoices, and re-price & re-do. Anyone who paid, will be refunded the exact amount, and reinvoiced at the correct amount. ☝︎
mod6: i think there was a lot of mental gymnastics I had to do.
mod6: i will cancel the outstanding invoices, and send back trinque's money. and re-invoice everyone at the correct rate.
mod6: how do i figure out the rate?
mod6: was thinking i had to "buy 8200 fiats" for 1.1, and that was the rate.
mod6: did I do that wrong?
mod6: Hey, nice ben_vulpes! Thanks for putting that together, I'll comb through it tomorrow and check numbers.
ben_vulpes: BingoBoingo mod6 asciilifeform: http://p.bvulpes.com/pastes/6dB0R/?raw=true << detailed walkthrough of how i've been generating reports for pizarro, along with trial report for july. will doublecheck numbers tomorrow and finalize.
trinque: cool deal, that's exactly what I wanted in the logs
mod6: The invoices that I just made cover the service through the month of August. Invoices received need to be paid by the last day of August.
trinque: I'm just asking educational questions, is all
mod6: clearly i'm not the man for this, just trying to keep things moving.
mod6: i dont' really know what arreass is
trinque: I've (more or less!) been paying at the end of the month for the prior month. I'm happy to begin paying for the month ahead, if y'all want that, but we oughta say what the policy is for the logs
mod6: So should I cancel those invoices or what is the plan here?
trinque isn't pissed, just asking the question, as I didn't see an announcement
mod6: I'm just trying to stick to what I said I would do so you'd be happy.
mod6: ben_vulpes said at the end of last month that I should send the august ones as soon as I have the price point. which is also what I committed to doing when we had this last go-around a week ago.
trinque: I don't have a problem with that, but like things to be defined
BingoBoingo: asciilifeform: I'll give some cafes a try, but a side effect of the Mate crack pipes is that there aren't many cafes, and... Looking for a combination cafe+package reception kinda reinvents the cowork thing again.
BingoBoingo: I'm working a lot in the flat, but I've been getting hit with the cabin fever pretty hard since leaving the hostel. I've been using the cowork desk to get my dose of social orcnoise.
BingoBoingo: <ben_vulpes> BingoBoingo: now that you have the buttbox do you plan to rent the cowork desk in perpetuity? << I plan to knock it down to a part time deal, but it is still the best place we have to recieve packages, and the cabin fever hit pretty hard last month.
ben_vulpes: asciilifeform: 'tis why i ask
asciilifeform: BingoBoingo: correct me if i'm wrong
asciilifeform: ben_vulpes: i thought he left the cowork thing ( what's the use of it, if there's an actual flat )
ben_vulpes: i miscalculated (under) the outgoing fiat total for pizarro last month by 186 USD; is the correct way to resolve that in this months statement to add an outgoing "adjustment" charge?
asciilifeform: the 'i didn't opt' button aint connected to anything. just like the traffic light buttons in ameristan.
asciilifeform: possibly i missed a memo
asciilifeform: i thought the fixation was opposite, 'can't do anyffing because notenuff privilege!' or the like
a111: Logged on 2016-12-05 20:28 asciilifeform: http://btcbase.org/log/2016-12-05#1577753 << both of'em, mikrotik 'RouterOS v6.35.2' >> i now say let's pronounce as in 'necrotic'.
asciilifeform: right, exactly the 'argument' i was thinking. by same argument 'why die at the front, stay home and wait to drink bavarian beer'
asciilifeform: i suppose from ye olde reddit 'hodl' pov ('why do anyffin with coin but to sit on it!') s.nsa, and likewise s.mg, pizarro, etc would look fundamentally damaged . but these folx, i expect, aren't tuned in to begin with.
asciilifeform: i was thinking, i read enuff of those for 1 lifetime..
asciilifeform: maybe i'm thick ? how ?
mircea_popescu: well... seeing how it's same day... i mean you literally say, "results later today"
mircea_popescu: i like the "but do not run it quite yet" byline
asciilifeform: mircea_popescu: noticed this myself , still creaks under load periodically. i've a new ver of frontend with saner caching, in the conveyor.
mircea_popescu: asciilifeform you know phuctor stats still take forever to load. am i remiss in thinking this was solved ?
mircea_popescu: http://btcbase.org/log/2018-07-26#1837808 << i just discovered i never paid this by going through the ledger looking for it and not finding it o.O ; sorry folks, will fix now. ☝︎
mod6: i miss playing eulora
mod6: this auction thing is pretty sweet, what can I say. now if everything else falls into place, will be good.
mod6: ok cool. i don't even have the ecu yet, i've only got about 50mn in my account at this very moment, but I trust that someone will sell them to me in time.
mod6: np, i found that in the logs.
mod6: can I put in a bid for "1.2bn" or does it need to be "1200mn" ?
mod6: Do I just need to point it at a new IP?
mod6: diana_coman: I tried to connect to eulora, but I suspect the problem is that I haven't tried to login since the new server moved to its new home at Pizarro.
mod6: danielpbarron: Ok Sir: I need to purchase 12.00000000 ECU (1.2 billion)
danielpbarron: lemme know how much coppers you want and i'll invoice ya
danielpbarron: mod6, i'm the Eulora Preferred Trader
mod6: Ok, I'll put in a bid tomorrow, I gotta buy some ecu with pizarro's funds (im nearly certain I don't have 1bn or even near that in my eulora acct), then put in the bid.
BingoBoingo: mod6: I am
mircea_popescu: anyway, logically just tell the dc they're getting a large chunk payment towards your acct, and it takes care of however many months or w/e. i guess. dunno, your show.
mircea_popescu: but i suppose if you search well you might even have that much in your acct.
mod6: then if I should win the bid, the filthy fiats are wired to whatever bank eh?
mod6: if I wanted to bid on the wFF (wired filthy fiats), i might for instance take the current price, $7,333 USD/BTC price and then bid as such:
mod6: So let's talk through this a bit, I want to try to understand fully here, and perhaps others do as well...
BingoBoingo: diana_coman: ty, I'll head over there in a little bit
diana_coman: BingoBoingo, please plug back in the 2nd FG on smg test server; anytime in the next 10 hours is fine, I'll shutdown the machine now
mircea_popescu: uhm, i mean slot. slot. srsly now. not freudian at all.
