mod6: totally worthwhile. but the exant code appears to still work on main-net anyway. but agreed, more testing/auditing/investigation required for sure.
mod6: that i do not know. but indeed a good test. set diff to 1, then generate

mod6: # LC_ALL=C ./bitcoind -datadir=/mnt/btc-dev/.bitcoin getgenerate
mod6: works fine.
mod6: im running it now!
mod6: i've run it myself since then for sure.
mod6: bien :]
mod6: how's it goin today ?
mod6: mornin'
mod6: haha
mod6: yeah srsly. ty
mod6: & mircea_popescu
mod6: congrats asciilifeform
mod6: thanks, nice pics :]
mod6: heh, 'sad_dog'
mod6: yeah, that could probably be a decent feature there. i do recall phf talking about it.
mod6: Food for thought I guess. :/
mod6: Eh, I don't even think I like my own idea.
mod6: Or tb0t for that matter.
mod6: Something just to start the thought of what to do about all of this. Maybe there is even some folding into a UCI with this, not sure.
mod6: I did that, as to not spam the channel here, and to try to think through what my entire thought might have been. If there is any merit to my thoughts, I'll post it somewhere.
mod6: To start a bit deeper of a discussion surrounding what we talked about with 'infrastructure' for V, if it's necessary or not, or whatever. I kinda put some thoughts down; http://dpaste.com/2S08M67.txt
mod6: http://dpaste.com/25AZT9N.txt
mod6: lol
mod6: Once a solution is realized, I encourage you gentlemen to work together, putting previous disagreements aside.
mod6: mircea_popescu: yeah, makse sense.
mod6: It could place those in, just as it does regular deeds.. I'd say, if anyone is a good lisp dev (phf, whomever) to work with trinque to get this feature put into place.
mod6: I think it would be really cool to have something like !!deedbot <wotpaste_of_vpatch> <pgp_sig_of_wotpaste_vpatch>
mod6: ok, cool! then just leave that part out.
mod6: i'll even run a mirror of it myself if anyone would like me to do so.
mod6: done. ship it.
mod6: if I were him, this is what I would do: take the schematic blob, encode it, clearsign it with a note at the top and a hash of its output value. submit to deedbot. next, edit the code somewhere or prefereably create a README.txt that points to that deed, create a new fuckgoats_genesis.vpatch and fuckgoats_genesis.vpatch.alf.sig on nosuchlabs.com, point to them with your www.
mod6: now. if you need to ship, this instant. you either do what you can, as I did, or you do nothing until you can.
mod6: it currently does not exist.
mod6: there may be some better solution to this with deedbot.
mod6: phf: oh i get it. i lead by example with trb on this. there is no good solution here. we do not want blobs in V, and somewhere between a-z you end up with a blob that must get signed along with the vpatches.
mod6: <+asciilifeform> v should abolish the idiocy of 'signed tarballs' << it doesn't have to. so far, we don't even have anything of the kind. just vpatches + sigs. 'tis all.
mod6: <+asciilifeform> ---- except that i can't because apparently we have 0 working infrastructure for actually releasing v code << i disagree with this. what we have, and trb isn't the only one who's done this, is; you make a mirror, and then v.pl deals with this. you grab all the vpatches you want, and the sigs from people you trust, and you place them in v, then you do what you wanna do.
mod6: *ideal
mod6: what do you propose as the idea solution here?
mod6: 'nothing' is always an option.
mod6: then do nothing, until there is a solution.
mod6: it's your thing, you can do it however you see fit.
mod6: then this is a question for trinque; he'll know if deedbot can or can't deal with .sig files.
mod6: i do know that. :]
mod6: are you just trying to clearsign one vpatch then?
mod6 is finally caught up on megal0g
mod6: yeah
mod6: yeh, it is very pretty actually. but just awful beyond that factor. haha.
mod6: you like everything being coated in ice? it's rare here, since it just usually snows, but when it does, power outage everywhere.
mod6: that ice-rain stuff is the worst.
mod6: where it does get a bit hairy is when you're going down the freeway with over 6+"
mod6: ben_vulpes: indeed, there's like 1.5" of snow on the ground.
mod6: n00b
mod6: i like how the guy couldn't keep it out of the ditch even with chains on the tires.
mod6: lol, nice pics.
mod6: nice day for a walk down past the canal to the park.
mod6: that sounds so nice
mod6: tomorrow is supposed to be 83 in BA.

mod6: they've had hockey down there for quite a while
mod6: The Atlanta Flames moved to Calgary in like 1980...
mod6: and if you're not willing to spend the cash on the air cooling, that can make problems.
mod6: yeah
mod6: air temp in the arena matters too.
mod6: im sure it has probably a lot more to do with how they operate the refrigeration system than anything
mod6: pete_dushenski: yeah, i can imagine that florida has horrible ice.
mod6: lol
mod6: i always wanted to moonlight as a zamboni driver
mod6: yeah, i hope they're out there tonight.
mod6: *really
mod6: fast ice.
mod6: but if they do it like now at 0, then give it a chance to go into the deep cold, you'll end up with reall excellent hard ice.
mod6: if you try to flood the rink when it's -25 like that, the ice will turn out too brittle and get this weird horizontal fracturing... coming off in like sheets.
mod6: nice. i need a new stick, then I'm ready.
mod6: i hope they flood the rinks this week.
mod6: cool
mod6: or so I was told.
mod6: when my old man was a kid, out on the farm he would put hot coals from a fire under the oil pan in like a '40 pickup to get the oil viscous enough to crank it over when it was cold like that.
mod6: so, the batteries don't do that great in the cold. but the real problem is the antifreeze. plugging in the blockwarmer runs current through the antifreeze so it won't freeze.
mod6: anyone with antifreeze
mod6: yeah, it usually helps to plug 'em in, especially if it gets down below -25 deg. F.
mod6: fuckin crazy
mod6: when it gets that cold for a number of days or whatever, getting back up to 0 feels nice!
mod6: haha
mod6: too cold to shoot birds even!
mod6: they're saying -24 deg. F/-31 deg. C here on Saturday :/
mod6: ah ya
mod6: ah, ya.
mod6: yeah, certainly could be. i guess i wasn't initially thinking about the SSH keys.
