mod6: And/or go on contracts.
mod6: escape the current salt-mine? I've been earnestly looking since last fall. Most of the similar pay jobs have ~some~ remote work, but not all. To go back to basically 100% (or close) wfh time, I'd have to take a pretty big pay-cut.
mod6: Need the fiat. Someday, when we're at the right levels, I won't need to do any of that. But today isn't that day, sadly.
mod6: Well, I take that back, not "all" the difference, but it certainly helped. Now, I've got to be in the fascist-tower daily, with a 2+ hour commute every day. It sucks. ☟︎
mod6: asciilifeform: So for the first ... 5 years of my participation here, I did have a 95% wfh job, and that made all the difference.
mod6: mircea_popescu: I had a super-knee jerk reaction to the blog-post on the train that afternoon, I surely should have spent some more time with it as opposed to assuming that she just picked up the wrong one by mistake.
mod6: This year has been very hard, and I'm going to be getting out of the way so that the Republic can go on doing its good work.
mod6: Anyway, the thoughts from the last week are basically that, I want to work on some things, but I just don't have the capacity any longer, or the same passion that I once had.
mod6: I was sincerely confused as to why she picked up 99994, just wanted to ensure that whatever happens there, that it was the correct thing. Yes, perhaps I should have spent more time on that reading thouroughly, clearly.
mod6: Well, four days, I guess.
mod6: I did do some thinking over this last week.
mod6: I've been trying to stay off of here, as much as I can turn my attention away, this week. But repeated admonishments for my life choices doesn't help anything.
mod6: mircea_popescu: I can't take any time off of salt-mine, or at least, not the kind of time that I would need to drop all and head down to BBstan. Used my time for this year, already.
mod6: <+asciilifeform> mod6 pleez let me know when we can swap yours, iirc you're the last rk fella on old disk << go ahead when ever you guys are ready.
mod6: <+diana_coman> mod6, re comment, it seems it got lost, I could not find it anywhere so not in queue nor anything << not a problem at all. we've resolved it anyhow. thanks for looking.
mod6: thanks for doing all this work diana_coman, I appreciate it. it's long over do for a v'ing. :]
mod6: <+diana_coman> mod6, I meant out of date wrt to my vpatch i.e. keccak hashes << ahh, gotcha

mod6: anyway, srsly bb.
mod6: lol, o hai mircea_popescu

mod6: Anyway, *nod* looks good. I'll try to test it one of these days when I have a spare minute.
mod6: http://btcbase.org/log/2018-11-14#1872191 << Totall get it that you don't want to maintain the user docs, I do disagree that they were are out date tho. I did a diff between them from the 99994K and 99993K versions and I did update it for the Feb release. ☝︎
mod6: http://btcbase.org/log/2018-11-14#1872187 << no worries, I tried to post a comment on your blog post from the train, it may have not went through. ☝︎
mod6: http://btcbase.org/log/2018-11-14#1872182 << Ahhh! I see what you did there. ☝︎

mod6: Anyway, bbl.
mod6: ah yeah (0x05), it is a significant change from all previous releases of my vtron.
mod6: I suspect so, ya.
mod6: Anyway, just thought I'd say. o7
mod6: You may not want the good, and discussed changes in version 99993K. Here's a list of the changes between version 99994K and 99993K in the ML posting: http://therealbitcoin.org/ml/btc-dev/2018-February/000290.html
mod6: 2) http://btcbase.org/log/2018-11-13#1872126 << diana_coman I tried to leave you a note on your blog. But seems that you've based the genesis off of my vtron version 99994K, but there is a newer version: http://thebitcoin.foundation/v/V-20180222.tar.gz http://thebitcoin.foundation/v/V-20180222.tar.gz.mod6.sig Which is denoted as version 99993K. ☝︎☟︎

mod6: I've been doing some chores here, I gotta run away again and do more. :/ ben_vulpes, if you have another Q, just ping me.
mod6: *nod* looks great, I like the use of the hash there.
mod6: np
mod6: Seems to go to the same as the october one.
mod6: BingoBoingo: Looks good! The November 2018 link for the price point goes to the wrong log entry.
mod6: ben_vulpes: np!
mod6: Alright, beginning with 2018-07-15, all transactions in my ledger are Pizarro transactions. Nothing personal in there after that date (where ben_vulpes sent me the funds).
mod6: http://btcbase.org/log/2018-11-11#1871301 << looking... ☝︎
mod6: BingoBoingo: don't forget to send those invoices when you get a chance today.
mod6: Yeah, I recall. There's just no more to give, presently.
mod6: !!ledger
mod6: !!sent-invoices
mod6: I believe.
mod6: asciilifeform: I'll take some time, but in all honesty, I think Mr. Popescu has it on all accounts. I don't even think he wants to be right on this one, yet he is. And presently, there is nothing I can do to pour myself into the Republic, Foundation, or Pizarro more than I currently am. And at this level of commitment, is harmful to all.
mod6: (I had half-forgotten about it myself)
mod6: ben_vulpes: While we're at it, BingoBoingo reminded me that xmas time is upon us, and it might be a very good time to start shopping for some Pizarro hardware with those amazon credits you're holding. Just a reminder.

mod6: In my mind, the Republic isn't just a bunch of individuals - at the low level, of course, we are. But we're here for something greater than ourselves, and that is what drives all of us to put time and money into.
mod6: Yeah, I'll think it over, Sir. But, my main objective is to do what is best for the whole, instead of the individual.
mod6: The same goes with the Foundation, new leadership is required. This means that I will not be within the lordship anymore, but better that, than dishonor.
mod6: So I think the correct thing to do here is to step-down from the Pizarro board, let someone else direct and lead the company to glory, as opposed to the back pages of tardstalk.
mod6: I will take some time to think it over, but this past year has taken a tremendous toll on my physical and mental health. I'm not doing right by myself, my family or the republic. I always said that I wanted to do the Republic as my main thing in life (outside family), but as I've said before, we're just not quite there yet.
mod6: http://btcbase.org/log/2018-11-11#1871031 << I will not. I will send the remaining Pizarro coins in my deedbot wallet to BingoBoingo today. ☝︎
mod6: http://btcbase.org/log/2018-11-11#1871008 << Point taken. ☝︎
mod6: http://btcbase.org/log/2018-11-11#1870995 << Thank you for saying as much, what I've learned from the Republic can not be ever measured. I agree with the point, however. ☝︎
mod6: http://btcbase.org/log/2018-11-11#1870994 << Having been there myself since '11 and all of the scams, believe me, this is the last thing that I wanted. ☝︎
mod6: http://btcbase.org/log/2018-11-11#1870993 << I agree, need to re-think my life. ☝︎
mod6: http://btcbase.org/log/2018-11-11#1870991 << ah yes, what a time it was tho! ☝︎
mod6: http://btcbase.org/log/2018-11-11#1870981 << You're right, I'm trying to be objective here, I'm not doing a good job on either. ☝︎
mod6: http://btcbase.org/log/2018-11-11#1870979 << Yeah, I'm disappointed with how things turned out. ☝︎
mod6: http://btcbase.org/log/2018-11-11#1870978 << I appreciate you taking the time to think on it, Sir. ☝︎
mod6 reads
mod6: mornin'
mod6 is out
mod6: Perhaps I can convince ben_vulpes to help take a look at it with us.
mod6: Ok, so I'm gonna call it a night. What I do know at this point is the ``surplus'' that we're seeing in the statements goes back at least through the August report. However, I'm not even certain at this point if what I'm seeing is actually incorrect, as I said earlier. Or if I just don't understand what I'm looking at. There's a strong chance that I just don't understand it. ☟︎
mod6: Anyway, i'm gonna be looking for that error.
mod6: But, well, here we are.
mod6: I wanted to hire an accountant / CFO / whatever for the work, even back when ben was working on Pizarro -- so he could focus more on sales. But no takers.
mod6: Got a lot to learn I guess. But this is totally something I've never even thought about before.
mod6: So my accounting skillz, are basically epsilon.
mod6: At one point, I could balance my checkbook. Now, I don't even do that, computer does it for me.
mod6: mircea_popescu: fair enough. ben said something to me on the phone, "double entry accounting". I don't even know what that is. But, my guess is that I'm supposed to know.
mod6: Yeah, I'm gonna try to stick to the schedule I posted, and get some food now. When I get back, I'll work on the accounting surplus.
mod6: The sad part is, I was good at the former stuff, not so good at the latter stuff.
mod6: I remember when keeping up with the logs + trb + v really felt like a ton of stuff. But that stuff has been wholesale replaced + some even, by pizarro.
mod6: I have the hunger to do much. But I fear that I've bitten off more than I can chew -- especially with things that are not in my wheelhouse that really take-away time, or slow down other progress. This being accounting things, or other management stuff.
mod6: I'd have to say, I was just doing enough to get us by with the Foundation (library) stuff before Pizarro. Much less, even getting a Stanford and world-class embassy.
mod6: Normally I do tend to work slow so I ensure that my work is accurate, despite recent fuck-ups, which I agree with MP, are not my normal thing. But yes, I'm way overloaded. And it's been hard to keep up with anything foundation related since Pizarro. Especially since Ben left.
mod6: I'm fairly busy, yea.
mod6: #7 yes, is accurate.
mod6: #6 Yes, what I did is in the blog-post there.
mod6: # 5: Yes, that's pretty much accurate
mod6: Which also covers #4
mod6: *can't really recall what I got distracted by
mod6: for #3 Again, yeah, I'm sure I did it, may have been an hour. More or less. Those two days (6th and 7th), I recall being pretty busy, but other than the usual stuff, I can't really what I got distracted by.
mod6: brb, being called awayh
mod6: for #2: We keep the notes so we know what's going on with all the customer accounts, our ledgers, and general information about on-goings of the business. This is necessary so we don't have to log-spelunk everything. Logs don't work all the time, like right now, the logging for #pizarro is down.
mod6: So usually that leaves 30min-1hour per night, sometimes more depending on the size. Sometimes I fall down a well in the logs if i'm looking for something specific related to any number of things: pizarro, foundation, ada, ffa, who knows.
mod6: Well, as for the logs, I read what I can on the train.
mod6: #1 was halfhour. i remember it being not 3 seconds because I had to look up the bot commands and try to get that correct, etc. despite the fact that I made it for the wrong amount.
