mircea_popescu: yea
jurov: hm, must redo it then
mircea_popescu: hm ?
jurov: users want understandable computation to be done automatically on exercise page... and one complained it isn't correct
jurov: now i know why, used wrong ticker
mircea_popescu: https://www.bitcoinasic.net/ awww they got pulled off the interwebs
mircea_popescu: Where is the "specialized devision of a huge corporate electronics manufacturer in Canada" !!!
mircea_popescu: jurov there's a json there too
jurov: yes, i see. but there's also said "query only once per 15 minutes". quite lame.
jurov: must set up caching etc.

mjr_: anyone know how to get a google doc to reload a script?
mjr_: trying to make it automatically get the freshest mt. gox price
Bugpowder: it will do it every hour or so
Bugpowder: there is some code you can use to make it do it faster, but it didn't work for me
Bugpowder: google it
mjr_: ah ok
mjr_: cool
mjr_: thanks
mjr_: yeah, i keep changing the value, but it doesn't rerun the script
mjr_: even though i can rerun it from the script editor
mjr_: also, is there a way to poll mpex for the last price of a given symbol? or bidding price
assbot: [BTCTC] [RSM] 100 @ 0.0095 = 0.95 BTC [-]
mircea_popescu: you can get either the book or the prices json, its in the faq
mjr_: i know
mjr_: but i just wanted one single price, do i have to find that subobject? or can you query for it directly?
jurov: no you have to extract it from json
mircea_popescu: mpex is too good to take user input
jurov: mjr_ i think something like live.coinbr.com/last?mpsic=MPSIC can be added easily
mjr_: lol, i do like it
mjr_: and thanks jurov, that would be awesome
mjr_: It would be nice to have an autoupdating spreadsheet that lists total positions and relative gain
mjr_: also, on an interesting note, depending on how i value my options, i am either -$0.17 or +$3.16
mjr_: or +$1.44
mjr_: respectively that is cost of bitcoins at present exchange, cost of bitcoins at my conversion cost, or cost of bitcoins at time of option purchase
mjr_: so as you can see, it is not trivial which number i use, and i still cannot figure out which is the correct one to use. I think at the end of the day it is really just my choice, but I am curious how ForEx guys do it

mircea_popescu: 1 year from 2012 march 11 is 2013 march 10th

mircea_popescu: what if instead of spending money on video cards, motherboards, and a crudely built home depot rack, you spent that money on hydroponic equipment and you mined weed, same as bitcoins except you end up with something that has value

mjr_: and i think it was common knowledge (in the trailer) that they show the future

iz: it's like a 3 hour movie, and after i watched it and the credits started to roll, i felt like i had just watched a 3 hour trailer for a movie called "cloud atlas", which seems really cool and all.. but that i still haven't seen yet
mjr_: yeah, it is not executed perfectly, but i think its themes are powerful
mjr_: to be honest, i think some of it even relates to bitcoins...in some ways
iz: also, i sort of feel like that movie was like.. part of loni warchowski's transformation into a woman
mjr_: though i think i can see parallels to bitcoins in almost anything
iz: like with all of the gender bending of roles and stuff
mjr_: yeah, i could see that
mjr_: very true
