ThickAsThieves: explaining how time is the one thing scammers can't control
San1ty_: ThickAsThieves: Ain't helping me now isn't it. But yes I should do it in the future...
Namworld: If you don't trust anyone, you don't get to trade tho.
mjr_: they say, dude, i promise i won't fuck you
Namworld: You basically have something the scammed can't reverse and can't be found.
San1ty_: The most frustrating part isn't even the BTC, it's the "how big of a douchebag can you be" part
thestrin1puller: mircea_popescu: Isn't it a romani word?
mircea_popescu: deadweasel i wasn't really watching in '95, but it started to smell to me sometime in early 2000s
San1ty_: *didn't CC me
San1ty_: don't know if he pm'd friedcat with my transfer request or not
ThickAsThieves: if you know the wallet address you don't need the list anyway
gribble: Error: Couldn't get RSS feed.
benkay: you don't have to pay to learn, cosmo.
cosmo: i understand what you mean matthew_boyd, but what i'm thinking is that bitcoin is open source, and still kind of beta, i'm not entirely convinced it won't be dominated by a superior version
cosmo: i understand how crypto's work and strongly believe they'll have a huge impact on our future (who doesn't?) but with it being open source it's anyones guess as to what system is most optimal
cosmo: keep in mind i have no experience in any of this so i don't know what i'm talking about 90% of the time
jurov: don't have
ertyctnseldom: hint: don't
Skitchen: hmm probably shouldn't have clicked that while at work

CheckDavid: Didn't notice about bitfunder
rulother: Don't go to just-dice
gribble: Error: Dice can't have fewer than 3 sides.
Vbs: didn't work
rulother: Na Microsoft wouldn't do that to you
rulother: Didn't think it would be that easy frankly
rulother: Yeah I love using it for work, just noticed it doesn't seem to support Skype, so I take that back as an option.
thestringpuller: didn't work darn
stayingayou: so there won't be some magical value gain in the next days for am and i would only receive 1 am share for 1 amc-pt and not 4 or something?
ThickAsThieves: i won't go so far as to suggest what you should do
stayingayou: i don't care about it being toxic or not, as long as i can profit
stayingayou: i don't understand this amc stuff. i hold some amc-pt shares at btct and there is a huge wall sitting on 0.0025 and one on 0.002499. i have the option to transfer my shares to bitfunder and convert them so "am" shares, which are traded for ~0.002. so essentially trading on btct is locked down and i'd loose value if i transfer to bitfunder. i'd be very pleased if someone could brief me with a tl;tr what i'm missing here..
mircea_popescu: thestringpuller re the entire "they fucked up wow by making the endgame accessible to entitled idiots" stuff : https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=153979
matthew_boyd: Good Lord, mircea_popescu, you really don't hold anything back, do you? :P
rulother: You telling my little roomba doesn't actually battle the dirt in my house but just, collects it?
ThickAsThieves: Today's Daily NewsLinks brought to you by the letters, T,A,T

ThickAsThieves: Burnside can't share info either
ozbot: HMRC: UK Bitcoin exchanges don't have to register
Diablo-D3: "My ... only regret... is... they didn't cure... boneitis"
parseval: I hope we don't get any more exchanges popping up, that makes 5 to keep track of..
davout: jurov: you shouldn't ack though
ThickAsThieves: then i quit that and played Dishonored for a while, luckily it just wasn't as addictive
parseval: Aren't all versions gaping security holes?
benkay: what, you don't install MacAffee on your mice?
mircea_popescu: bitcoin can't be moulded tho is the thing.
mircea_popescu: hehe i couldn't take the credit for that one.
ThickAsThieves: scammers don't get to speak for themselves!
jurov: hm, 715 of O.USD.P095T, 655 O.USD.P101T sold? but they most likely aren't in money as well
jurov: no they weren't shorted. iirc mp said shorts don't go into OIX.
jurov: i see mostly O.USD.C113T/O.USD.C107T... if the weren't shorted, means nice dividend for s.mpoe
ThickAsThieves: what i think doesn't matter
ThickAsThieves: i'm saying he doesn't like changing them as it is a form of defeat
ThickAsThieves: it doesn't require such concern to believe
thestringpuller: Wasn't that the case in Diablo II years before?
thestringpuller: Yes but if the gameplay were new and they weren't obviously milking you would you really care?
thestringpuller: ThickAsThieves: but that actually doesn't have to matter. In Mario all of the sprites are practically the same because of hardware limitations.
thestringpuller: mjr_: isn't that by neal stephenson?
Namworld: You don't HAVE to pay. But most micropayment games have gameplay made so that if you don't pay, you can't advance, compete or must grind for months on end to acquire "premium" currencies.
ThickAsThieves: it wasn't THAT bad
Namworld: And honestly, how fun is a game when to progress, you must pay? Isn't the whole point to entertain yourself with good gameplay and advancement through that gameplay? A subscription for online games and flat fee for offline game is a good model.
davout: thestringpuller: didn't know it, actually it's the first time ever I read an article there :-)
mjr_: can't wait to play it
thestringpuller: but haven't heard from him recently
ThickAsThieves: didn't smickles used to play midmarket?
mjr_: and i don't claim to know better than him, by any means, i haven't written a lot of options and he has
mjr_: You can't pull yourself up by your breeches and for the very same reason you can't have everybody in the market hedge. Someone needs to provide the support everyone else relies on to hedge. I'm that someone
mjr_: if you aren't hedged
ThickAsThieves: and can't make money
mjr_: i mean, i think the only reason (per trilema) that mp hasn't moved it, is due to the fact no one has jumped into the middle
mjr_: yes, you have to map out where you are covered and more importantly where you aren't
mjr_: anyways, financial engineering should allow me to abstract away whatever risks i don't want, and focus on the risks i do want, and then collect on those risks

mircea_popescu: sure, most "people". bitcoin isn't about headcount.
mircea_popescu: it seems to me you're the only one who doesn't read trilema
ThickAsThieves: so you don't see bitcoin as a the populous currency of the future?
mircea_popescu: just like i showed the SDRs as the exact equivalent, and people ignored it because well... they never had one so it don't exist. ☟︎
mircea_popescu: and everyone ignored it because welll... they didn't like to hear it.
ThickAsThieves: i still can't make the jump to fiat value being irrelevant
emptyeddepended: that's a huge step. i see another beneficial aspect of bitcoin, but yet there aren't enough merchants. i live in europe and a wire transfer to china to purchase goods is very delayed and expensive. bitcoin could do that in ease..
Namworld: Because they don't understand Bitcoin. Cause Bitcoin works in misterious ways.
pankkake: because they are stupid. and they like to blame something, usually people who have what they don't have
mjr_: its also nice though, since you have redeem on demand, you don't really have to, as you can just sell and everyone knows what its worth
Namworld: No, doesn't go up and down.
CheckDavid: don't they go up and down on hashing bonds as well?
CheckDavid: That's apparently a bond that doens't pay principal?
Namworld: He, looks like he didn't read that address at all at first, just assuming you were going to ship to whatever other country you currently reside in.
matthew_boyd: Haven't finished, but I found that entertaining :D
matthew_boyd: "Your whining and crying on the forums doesn't exactly give off a mature tone."
Bugpowder: but I don't trust gox
KRS: teh new bubble? already? noooo can't be..
