kakobrekla: so i was only
taking hash rate specified bonds
parseval: Well, I was
thinking of making
the whole process automated
parseval: Use case: You want
to go play
the volatile MtGox market
to capitalize on changes in btc price, but you also want
to keep your AM shares intact and collecting dividends while you do it.. Pay a small fee and a percentage,
then repay your loan within
the
terms paid. Collect back your AM shares plus dividends.
parseval: I wonder how strong of a reputation I'd need
to have
to launch a securities backed loan site
that lets borrowers put up shares as collateral and
take out BTC loans from people. Kind of like BTCJam only everything would be 120%+ collateralized and borrowers could keep
the dividends
that accrue while
their loans are active.
pizzaman1337: not yet, I'll be going
there soon. I
think
the "doors" open in about 45 mins. =
error4733: "Just stop mining, so
the difficulty will go down and it will be more profitable for me. Grin
KRS1: we must look like a bunch of chumps
to
the rest of
the world
parseval: That guy should move
to litecoin instead, no asics yet
KRS1: yeah like..was obama
the best we could come up with?
parseval: I still need
to add in flags for
the dividends, and maybe make up some candlestick charts. Oh, and a USD->BTC comparison
parseval: I
think I need
to work on
those charts a bit more, people seem
to like
them
mjrIII: so far
this conference sucks compared
to romania
truffles: maybe itll be 3 by
the end of month
mjrIII: that is
the point of conferences
mjrIII: saw some of
the nyc guys
truffles: seemed
to have
toned it down a
tad bit
parseval: I mean, using only
the bitcoin network is great and all, but
they left a bunch of money on
the
table
there. At
the least
they should have been collecting some user data for return calls
to action
optimator: de-U.S.-ing has it's short
term costs
ThickAsThieves: SDICE Profit
This Month: -1298.65012061 BTC (so far) :/
KRS1: wtf he cant go

jurov: sorry, gribble went
to san jose
KRS1: wtf did someone say it was okay for gribble
to
take off on a friday like
this? he doesnt even know whats going on in
the market
Namworld: I'll wait
till all cards are microcomputers and show live balances directly on
them lol
Namworld: live balances is a cool feature
tho...
Namworld: Plus cards are easier
to manage I say... nothing wrong in a physical wallet
Namworld: But I find it annoying
to have so many apps/options
jurov: ofc: Will Bitcoin be able
to scale in
the face of exponential growth? Mike answered "yes" and without
the need for "Bitcoin banks" or supernodes.
KRS1: mtgox has namecoin in
their api
too i did not know
this..they must be at least slightly interested in
the alt coins
jcpham: so
the bitcoin conference started
today?
jcpham: it's probably beeter
that i don't know who people are or give a shit
jcpham: i spend so much
time in
the dark in
the cold.
optimator: it's funny
the
things
the state
tries
to regulate
optimator: i'm searching for
the perfect porter -
that balances hops and sweetness
optimator: jcpham: homemade rye is nice as long as
the rye is in moderation
taub: We see
that
the MTGox data feed is not entirely reliable and also from an engineering perspective, its
technical implementation really is very confusing and not well structured.
They are using what is called a web socket and
then on
top of
that Socket I/O .
This is unnecessary and
the method by which
this is implemented is not
technically correct. So we are not very impressed with
the MTGox data feed.
This is just a comment.
taub: and
that other one regarding socket io
taub: regarding
the goxlag
taub: >Interesting. Never heard of such a concept when it comes
to
trading. We would
think
that immediate execution should always be achieved as much as possible.
taub: i love
the sierrachart jabs at mtgox
truffles: my partner would not like
that i dont
think
truffles: <Namworld> I'd
totally invest in your booze,
truffles >>> no wai lol
jurov: maybe
ThickAsThieves could figure passthrough :DDDD
Namworld: I'd
totally invest in your booze,
truffles
jurov: should appreciate over
time... but delivery of dividends would be problematic
jurov: truffles IPO your booze
then
truffles: sitting in
the vault collecting dust meh
KRS1: i would buy
them all and
tell you all
to go find something else
to do..like a boss
KRS1: imagine being able
to buy all of
the bitcoins and still having more
than anyone would know what
to do with
truffles: <taub> not a fan of
the booze>> why not?
taub: not a fan of
the booze
jurov: ic, i can create any options i want and sell
to myself. all solved.
furuknap: I need
to get
to bed, I'm seeing wafer designs on
the inside of my eyelids.
furuknap: If
there was a forced buy-back... By whose authority would
that happen? It would be according
to Chinese law, I would presume. However, since
the PT-holder don't hold shares,
the buyback would be against
the PT operator.
furuknap: That's my point. I'm sure
the buyer would want
to know whether
they could buy...
furuknap: BTW, out of curiosity, if
there came a
tender offer on AM, how would
the PTs handle
that? Vote?
furuknap: Well, it's really moot. I'll have my models in a year
too, and even longer :-)
furuknap: I know
that has been said. I haven't been able
to figure out how much.
furuknap: They wouldn't have
to pay half
that. People don't seem
to realize
that not paying dividends doesn't mean
the money is burned in a forge.
furuknap: From pouring out as much dividend as possible. I'm not saying "No"
to dividends, I'm saying a pile of cash in
the hands of friedcat is better at ensuring sustainability
than a
ton of dimes in
the hands of
thousands of investors.
