skinnkavaj: But
tbh sounds stupid
to buy into LTC when it's already high pankkake,
that sounds like a really stupid plan.
pankkake: I am not arguing for it, I am not weathly enough
to make it worthwile anyway
pankkake: why watch
the price all
the
time?
pankkake: I
thought you were not daytrading
pankkake: there was a lot of hype about solidcoin IIRC. actually, it put me off bitcoin at
that
time. where is it now?
kakobrekla: you know what, i
think you should
talk
to ozbot some more.
skinnkavaj: pankkake:
There was like 5-6 altcoins launched before LTC, but none of
them were really good. One was premined, one was scrypt but not premined, LTC was
the one
that won. Now I am only waiting for
the
third coin, but
that will
take a lot of
time
to be decided.
pankkake: is
there an altcoin list by date of introduction?
pankkake: changes have
to be approved by
the majority of
the p2p network and even harder,
the network
benkay: but pankkake
that doesn't prevent
to corrupt innovate
pankkake: but bitcoin is even harder
to corrupt
pankkake: open source is already a protection against developers being corrupt. you don't have
to have a fork of every open source software
to keep
the developers in check.
that would be insane
skinnkavaj: OH yes I do, but I still see it's possible
to infiltrate and
try
to destroy innovation even when it's open sourced.
pankkake: I hope your ltc "investment" decision has better foundations
than
that "everyone know"
skinnkavaj: It's important for
the development
to not become
to corrupt,
to have
two strong open source currencies.
skinnkavaj: pankkake: LTC is
the first good copy cat of BTC. And like everyone know
the first copycat always succeeds, while
the others fail. Look at feathercoin, I don't see any future
there.
pankkake: and feelings shouldn't have anything
to do with
that
pankkake: but perhaps you should look at
the history of altcoins
benkay: and 1 year an arbitrary
timeframe
pankkake: it's bitcoin for people who want
to be early adopter or want
to use
their gaming pcs, which is bad enough. but even ignoring
that, I don't see anything compelling
skinnkavaj: pankkake: If you
think LTC will be dead in one year you must be blind. I feel sorry for you.
benkay: haven't you heard, it has mining for
the undercapitalized
pankkake: come on, stop with
the empty "here
to say" and "not going away",
this means nothing
skinnkavaj: It's not like LTC is going away anytime soon. LTC is here
to stay as long as BTC is here
to stay.
Then we might have another competing coin
that
take over in
the future, but
that will
take a lot of
time even if its better
than BTC/LTC.
skinnkavaj: pankkake: Armory and
Trezor is coming with LTC support
benkay: from
the ceaseless litecoin hype frothing from your face?
skinnkavaj: The secret is not
that I am launching a litecoin service
pankkake: I mean it looks like
there isn't even a web wallet
skinnkavaj: pankkake:
Trust me you are gonna buy in when it's
too high already
pankkake: I have plenty of
time
to buy back if
there ever is a reason. and here you're just bragging about daily little changes
pankkake: and now you're all day wishful
thinking
pankkake: who cares. it was still better
to sell earlier, which you should have done instead of getting all butthurt
benkay: skinnkavaj: what do
these percents imply?
jurov: mhm, satoshidice has hefty
Terms&Conditions nao. Of course:" Persons located in or residents of
the United States and
the United States
Territories (the âProhibited Jurisdictionsâ) are not permitted make use of
the Service."
benkay: -ass has a points/karma
thing now?
mircea_popescu: kakobrekla make it so you can only vote
through assbot,
kakobrekla: so feel free
to recast your points ktnxbai
kakobrekla: bash just been flushed, i nuked
the current points stats cause some idiot decided
to write a bot
to fuck with
that, so i changed
the system a bit and well,
truncated
teh
table.
KRS1: what did you program nubbins? IT can be hard
to get back into if you are out for a while
☟︎ KRS1: but
thats my opinion =D
_mjoiii: Later man, some
trippy shit
nubbins`: you kinda have
to commit if you want
to make something
nubbins`: of course,
that probably
took decades of hard work, self doubt, and eating from food banks
nubbins`: but
to be fair
that jonathan meese guy is also world famous
nubbins`: and i haven't even had
to skip a meal yet
nubbins`: i walked away from a stable, high-paying programmer/analyst job
this past february
to print full-time
nubbins`: you'd be surprised how little money you can get by on if you
try
_mjoiii: So it made me wonder how he can afford
to just buzz like
that every day.
nubbins`: no need
to be jealous, it's 100% within your grasp
_mjoiii: That dude makes me so jealous.
To just
trip out all day... But
the
toilet
thing..
nubbins`: although you'd be surprised
to know how much $$ people spend on stacked
test prints
nubbins`: there are no mistakes, watch
the first video i posted ;p
_mjoiii: They sell prints of
their mistakes?
_mjoiii: 65 euro? What's
that in real money? How much in bitcoin?
nubbins`: they're in
the museum of modern art
nubbins`: at one point marlboro asked
them
to design cigarette packs
nubbins`: _mjoiii:
those
two are world famous
_mjoiii: Do people like
this support
themselves???
nubbins`: they're called Re:Surgo!
these days
nubbins`: amazing art, very inspiring
to me
_mjoiii: Pretty sure I just had a flashback with
that second one.
nubbins`: this "art
talks" series is great
_mjoiii: And if you read
the subs he admits it
KRS1: can someone answer
this question- why is
the FTC and BTC pair on BTC-E so heavily
traded? Big volume has been exchanging
there for quite some
time.
nubbins`: ^
this guy is almost completely, perfectly fucked in
the head, but i had a moment of epiphany while watching
this interview
benkay: put a big enough engine on a brick and *presto* i guess you have an orbital insertion vehicle
too
benkay: (it's an orange juicer, for
those not in
the know)
benkay: better you
than me. i stopped writing about
this highly subjective stuff back when i decided
to stop convincing people of
things.
benkay: is
this art or design?
mircea_popescu: benkay okay, but something has
to be something or not be something at some point. otherwise we can't have a conversation at all, outside of ∀ = ∀
benkay: some mainstream rap may even be art
to some people
benkay: mainstream american rap is product.
there are rap artists.
there are rap producers.
there are humans in between.
deadweasel: they would probably describe
themselves as businessmen.
benkay: some may
think
they are, in
the same way
that some americans
think
they're ceo's when funded by idiots
benkay: my point is
that rap isn't art. it's a product manufactured for americans.
mircea_popescu: lol. ok,
the point here is
that while it'd be hard
to argue dali wasn't an artist, it's well established he was a capitalist whore
benkay: you can't expect me
to have opinions about real art like dali
benkay: what does
that have
to do with rap?
mircea_popescu: i
thought rapper guys did it for
the principle of
the
thing.
