mircea_popescu: "- The matters we discuss are quite important, as I don't know how operative the Bitcoin Foundation is in the middle of this lawsuit, MP is for some reason still ridiculing me despite my attempts to establish contact, also it should be obvious that the USD/BTC exchanges in their current form cannot support millibitcoin's price going much past $1, and therefore need to be overridden as soon as possible."

mircea_popescu: "This fiasco happened in the atmosphere of relaxedness without the lightest malice from my part - quite the contrary - everybody who was there can prove my dedication towards making this thing the best in their lives. I don't think the organizations of evil can do any better, if even the organizations of good (such as Vuoristo-Yhtiöt and their Haikko Manor) fail to remain operative when the reality hits them too hard."
mircea_popescu: have billed my credit card unauthorized to the value of 3,000 EUR, and the several silk suits in Manor Hotel Suite #30 act as a countertestimony to their wishful thinking that nothing would ever have happened.
mircea_popescu: Now they are holding hostage to some of my and my family's personal items, causing a great annoyance to us (with no offsetting gain to them), and reducing our ability to proceed with the investigation (as I need to buy new suits to keep me supplied, and constantly write here, both with the time I could more profitably use for my bitcoin accounting)

Willdude123: Is a hooker the same as a prostitute?
bgupta: My take on Gox news, is that gox was a grey currency market for USD -> BTC. Predicting as a result of DHS trying to stop currency conversion, that the market will bifurcate, into regulated exchanges and balck exchange. My sense if history is anything to go on, that prices will be better on black exchanges.. and will eventually make up much of the volume.

asciilifeform: as it should be. but if a PC is involved, you might run into strange one day
asciilifeform: feel free to interpret my silence as proof that I'm full of shit, but personally I'm rather fond of living.
asciilifeform: my other point is that btc ups the ante for working on hard targets as well as soft ones. you can do some very nice MITM with a compromised router, for instance.
asciilifeform: as far as the world could tell (even if you log all the packets coming out of your home) it will look like you voluntarily donated your stash to X.
asciilifeform: my only argument, really, is that btc as we know it is a soft target, and that life will become considerably more interesting once the truly competent people take an interest in playing.
mircea_popescu: nope. it'll do exactly the same thing as mtgox lieing about "hacks"
asciilifeform: this is like saying that a bullet hole is no big problem so long as the wound mostly closes back up after the bullet exits.
asciilifeform: I described several "easy" recipes as to how, at one point.
