ThickAsThieves: then a lower % yield will be acceptable
Chaaang-Noi: a value of a mac is like $700 but peole pay $2200
ThickAsThieves: like get this, it's only been like a month since the Great Bubble of 2013
furuknap: No, I'm trying to say that the amount of coin a mining operation yields will need to be taken into account now, knowing that the value of a share is likely to drop of revenue from dividends drop.
ThickAsThieves: but even a year is eternity in bitcoin
ThickAsThieves: 3. If the asset can maintain a leading position, and also sells hardware, only chance of stability and profit
truffles: i thought it was a forgone conclusion that we would have RFID chips and that digital money would be the norm
furuknap: I'm not trying to do so, only find a way to evaluate what the fundamental value of a mining asset is.
furuknap: To the extent of my abilities, it will be. It's not as much a report as a description of the method used to come to the analysis I mentioned previously.
furuknap: truffles: Well, everything you perceive and thus can think creates such a bubble. The difference is whether you are aware of that bubble and whether you have the ability to manipulate it.
truffles: gotta livein a bubble to have everything fit ur will imo
furuknap: Magick is far more than daily routine. It is about shaping yourself, your mind, and the environment around you to create a reality that matches what you will.
ThickAsThieves: magick equates to, if you want something to be a certain way, then take action to make it that way
furuknap: The "Magick" that most people think about involves mysterious and secret rituals with sacrificing goats and whatnot. However, in reality, Magick is much simpler. You wake up and your breath smells like wet dog. Your desired goal is to have a nice breath. Your ritual is to go to the bathroom, but some potion on a brush and rub on your teeth. If you do, your breath smells nice.
ThickAsThieves: just a matter of time and effort
truffles: saw a doc, didnt read it
furuknap: "The Secret" as far as I've understood, is mostly based on thelemic principles, yes. It's a bastardization as far as my peers have determined it, but I have not read it so I don't know.
furuknap: In Magick, it is actually the same thing. You have a desired goal and you perform some ritual to achieve that goal. If the ritual is done correctly and is the correct ritual, your achieve your goal.
truffles: furuknap buttsex is a topic in here so nothing is offlimits
furuknap: Two monitors, two hands, two eyes, two halves of a brain... I was built for dual-tasking :-)
furuknap: truffles, like I said, this isn't really a philosophy forum. Feel free to PM me, though, unless of course everyone is fine with the conversation.
ThickAsThieves: not a real portuguee!
furuknap: Paulo Choelly is a Thelemite :-)
Scrat: Firecoin2 initially began as a Feathercoin2, a joke coin created to poke fun at all the recent altcoin releases. However, after a surprisingly smooth launch, and some community support, it has been decided that this coin will relaunch as Firecoin2.
truffles: yea none wants to jump out of an airplane without a parachute
saulimus: "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." <- solution right there (disclaimer: I'm a christian)
ThickAsThieves: saulimus, it was a youth thing
furuknap: truffles, by what you probably mean by "believe in a God", no I don't.
saulimus: what's the point of adopting a philosophy your lifestyle fits the best with? isn't that just doing what you'd like anyway?
furuknap: That's also a good start :-)
ThickAsThieves: i searched for the philosophy that fit my lifestyle a few times when I was younger
furuknap: There's a difference between "whatever the fuck you please" and "what you will".
mircea_popescu: i have no idea why the notion of doing whatever the fuck you please needs a name
furuknap: This isn't a philosophical channel, but if you want to learn, read up on it. It's a pretty fascinating philosphy.
truffles: do they believe in a God furuknap?
furuknap: That's a good start.
furuknap: You're allowed to do whatever you will, but hating seems somewhat counter productive and thus wouldn't make you much of a Thelemite.
furuknap: I'm talking to you because my statements about AM was a matter of discussion and part of that discussion was the analysis I had made that showed AM had no chance in hell to make back investments at these levels. I said I would publish those numbers but decided as a matter of fairness to instead publish a simplified method for determining it yourself.
furuknap: However, I care about my pride, and I want to be proud of what I do because it is the best I can do. If I do not accomplish that, I have not done my best, which is a strike on my abilities. It's a long, long conversation, though, and whether someone understands that is irrelevant, and I have no need to explain.
ThickAsThieves: it is my opinion that if you seek out a name for yourself and subscribe to a belief, you are already failing to be what you say you are
furuknap: What is unlikely? That I'm a Thelemite?
furuknap: truffles, I care for myself and myself only. I am a Thelemite, so it is in my nature. I care not for what others think of me, not even what my immediate family thinks of me, much less some random strangers on the interwebs.
Chaaang-Noi: want to smoke a cuban cigar, yet has no knife to cut it.... 1st world problemz :(
ThickAsThieves: the only way to have a chance of being received as neutral
furuknap: This is a personal thing, but to me, my integrity is extremely important to me. Even the suggestion from someone that I may be 'talking AM down (or up)' is a taint on my perception of that integrity, which is why I've been quiet in the forums the past few days.
ThickAsThieves: 3. If they are a market leader and also sell hardware, only chance
ThickAsThieves: if it's not, anyone that says it is, is a turd
furuknap: I'll explain a slightly simplified method of the one I'm using, because it is easier to understand and doesn't require too much speculation.
furuknap: I've decided that rather than publish my numbers on ASICMiner, I'm going to write a guide on how to evaluate mining companies and their shares. This seems more fair because it will not speak directly to AM (which could be argued is an attempt at price manipulation) while at the same time applies to any mining operation, past, present, or future.
ThickAsThieves: aww i thought i invented a word
