i suspect the thing with js is like so : it has two eigenstates. js.1 is "well, kinda useful to do some tasks browsewr side". as exemplified by say the trilema text select thing. way cheaper to do that client side than server side. js.2 however is "deploy code you can update yourself". ie, no need to ask people to update it for you.
