thestringpuller: we should call this unit the shapoopi
jurov: eskimobob, i wrote my pionts/questions to btctalk
mircea_popescu: thestringpuller don't really intend to update it, maybe make another dec 2013
thestringpuller: mircea_popescu: are you going to add this to the drama timeline?
mircea_popescu: and i'm not terribly enchanted with piuk either, he won't list it but he sells stakes to random asshats ?
mircea_popescu: he's getting hanged for this one.
mircea_popescu: he can freak out till he's blue in the face.
mircea_popescu: i don't care that he freaked out.
pigeons: then its not so cool that he abused his pull with a seperate company to check on the dude's address
pigeons: my biggest problem is that he freaked out over 4 btc
mircea_popescu: is he even in the wot ?
mircea_popescu: not only is he dishonest, but he wants to lie about it.
smickles: i can be part of this occupy mpex for 29.06 more months
mircea_popescu: tbh ver goes on my personal shitlist after this.
mircea_popescu: pigeons i find that the most objectionable of all.
mircea_popescu: jurov yeah well, he thinks he knows stuff.
jurov: nothing about eskimo. just that he despises IPOs with tiered pricing that enable trading, cause what if the first investors resell, blabla... he's funny
mircea_popescu: what the fucking hell is this.
mircea_popescu: so basically that idiot ver just sunk blockchain.info ?
smickles: er, nix that =, replace with a +

smickles: thestringpuller: damn man it's worse than one percent, mircea_popescu is the 5%!
mircea_popescu: noway. it says clearly on the return slips, i am the 94%
mircea_popescu: thestringpuller it makes pretty decent web stuff afaik. what can i tell ya.
thestringpuller: mircea_popescu is the one percent
mircea_popescu: smickles i was just quoting. i could make that list five meters long
smickles: mircea_popescu: you forgot the 'waaah, mpex regularly makes people hundreds of btc, but I think derivitives are evil for no good reason and I didn't take the time to understand that bond thingy, so i'm jelly'
thestringpuller: on the mpex site
thestringpuller: mircea_popescu: that was a funny comment
pigeons: i just learned EskimoBob doesn't have tourrette's ;)
mircea_popescu: jesus this bitcoinstuff is ocmplex. anyone with the tipping set up want to send one for me ?
thestringpuller: mircea_popescu: what reddit post are you talking about?
mircea_popescu: ok, that guy made my day. how do you tip people on reddit ?
mircea_popescu: waaah, mpex is charging a fee for signup as if it was a real business but I want to slop 0.05 btc back and forth on options and 30 btc to open account is ridicuous....
mircea_popescu: waaah, bitcoin should be taken seriously as currency...
mircea_popescu: waaah, mpex uses proven encryption but gpg is hard and the submit screen is plain...
mircea_popescu: waaah, slick-xchange got 0day'd via cornerrounder.js and all the accounts are locked/stolen...
mircea_popescu: I don't understand why people rag on mpex. They complain about btc related businesses getting compromised. They complain about bots manipulating the pricing and "fake" walls on mtgox. mpex doesn't have any of that crap and people bitch about it - I don't get it.
jcpham: sorry i only skimmed the headline
thestringpuller: how long shall they kill our prophets
pigeons: have no fear for atomic energy none of dem canna stoppa da time
EskimoBob: really? this is new

mircea_popescu: for the record, that twitter is run by a webhost for whom I was providing a honeypot address.
mircea_popescu: smickles but more's the point, were you aware of the sales plan for s.mpoe ?
smickles: dammit mircea_popescu be more subtle, the whole 'freeing ourselves a bit more' can go on indefinitely, we'd never actually get to the point of freeing koreans :P
mircea_popescu: depends. if they're half-white or half-black i do
mircea_popescu: i ain't pissing for anyone else and neither am i freeing them.
thestringpuller: they made starcraft a science tho...
mircea_popescu: how about they free themselves ?
smickles: thestringpuller: we ought to free ourselves a bit more before we get too concerned about koreans
pigeons: freed them to buy ipods?
mircea_popescu: in relative terms
mircea_popescu: smickles you know, it was driving the romanians insane cause romanian incomes are really small and i was making a ton with the blog
thestringpuller: even if it freed the north koreans?
smickles: i'd rather there wasn't a war
thestringpuller: i want to see btc fund a war
smickles: as if i'd know tho
mircea_popescu: by getting the biggest guns, aiming them well and sticking to it.
thestringpuller: srsly though howd you build your wealth?
EskimoBob: thestringpuller: who told you he is rich?
mircea_popescu: <smickles> because of the control you _can_ exert on the price <<< if I have 500k btc i CAN exert the same exact control on the price as if I had 1bn shares.
smickles: what is that 2weiX going on about anyway? 5% cut? 10% cut? do they not realize you essentiall have a 95% cut?
smickles: oh, and mircea_popescu even considering the quality of the source (investopedia): "
smickles: mircea_popescu: unless, of course, you have made a statemtent that you don't intend to ever sell some of that available 50% (the remaining 45% iirc)
smickles: so there you have free float market cap followed by implied valuation
smickles: yeah, taking a strict definition, only 50% of shares are 'locked in'
smickles: one could consider the free float to be 50% of shares tho
smickles: for example, the S&P 500 only considers free float market cap
mircea_popescu: but the presumption is false, which is why im writing. brb.
smickles: but considering that you own (and presumably won't sell) ~95% of shares, those 95% wouldn't be considered for a lot of market cap valuation purposes
smickles: I think that both forms of valuation are important
smickles: because of the control you _can_ exert on the price
mircea_popescu: rather than ~10x what you paid ?
mircea_popescu: if i sell you one acre out of a 10 acre plot of land would you propose the value of the plot is based on your acre ?
smickles: mircea_popescu: well, I too think it would be better to value based on the free float
mircea_popescu: and also check out all the love http://trilema.com/2012/why-smpoe-is-worth-more-than-mtgox/#comment-91034
