jurov: i doubt the algo is useful for gpus

evoorhees: not sure if they'll list on the asset markets though
evoorhees: gesell - hard to match s.dice today, but for sure over the next year there will be some amazing bitcoin companies that emerge
gesell: evoorhees: do you see any other significant business in the market that could provide more s.dice like diversity of investment and activity?

truffles: to me seems like a lil niche for the nerd crowd to swap
gesell: maybe i mix up words. hard to describe where i feel there is a difference in how one deals with s.dice on mpex, but there is
gesell: i mean a lot of the s.dice drop got picked up by people that just plan to resell it. this is investment in relation to supply and demand in the market, not investment in s.dice long term, imho
gesell: truffles: well not day trade, but to look at the stock as something to trade just on its value alone
truffles: finish the thought
truffles: day trade on but what
gesell: which reminds me, im gonna take my dividends and reinvest now ;)
gesell: but that is just the difference between being a mpex player, and being a normal long term investor
gesell: just sad that i wasnt a mpex whale that could scoop up another 20000k shares at 0044
gesell: im not upset at all that i bought at 0078
truffles: im curious why they was any rumblings, they knew the risks
gesell: the angst is in relation to people treating mpex stocks like a real stock market. and the volume isnt there for that. if this were a real stock market s.dice drop would have been closer to the market price because there would have been enough volume to eat it up. with where the volume is, it made sense where he put it. ON TOP of that, the whole idea of forcing his investors to think of s.dice stock different, not as a stock to quickly day trade on but ra

ThickAsTh: Posting a portion of the tranches on the passthroughs might also go a long way to keep people quiet. (Could also make things worse too I guess. Havelock price didn't fluctuate much during all this, oddly)

ThickAsTh: I take it Bob likes Mircea a lot
Anduck: u cant be afk and typing
evoorhees: well unfortunately there is no way to tell the whole market at once

ThickAsTh: because i was awake and saw erik post the news
gesell: the point is that you are not really solving anything truffles
truffles: i dunno who likes that kind of surprise..
ThickAsTh: for the big players, announcing is ideal, for the small guys, a surprise might be better
pigeons: set a future date when more shares are available, and say the price will be X % of X-day moving average
gesell: people arent happy because they didnt get "their" share of the opportunity. but it doesnt matter if they are announced in advance or not, its going to be dificult
gesell: truffles: but there really isnt a better way
truffles: so i wonder if there is a fixed amount that can be done
