davout: 1. i'd never sell out to mtgox, i'd rather die. (unless their offer is reasonable of course)
davout: kakobrekla: well, there's three things
kakobrekla: first of all you want to kill gox not save it and second of all for fucks sake, theres a bunch of wheels you could use
davout: kakobrekla: tell me more
kakobrekla: davout dont do that.
davout: i'm developing this redis-based in-memory trading engine, gonna sell it to markie karpie and kill his lag
kakobrekla: Sierra Chart Engineering : Interesting. Never heard of such a concept when it comes to trading. We would think that immediate execution should always be achieved as much as possible.
kakobrekla: You can retrieve the engine lag from https://data.mtgox.com/api/1/generic/order/lag . Sometimes this grows to couple of minutes, and every order you send (or quotes) are delayed by this amount. So it's nice to know about this value when doing trades.
kakobrekla: That's great news. Keep up the good work.
BitHub: what's that thing that everyone uses? goxtool or something
kakobrekla: anyway you will be able to trade from it somehow apparently
davout: relying on the mtgox ws feed sounds like folly
kakobrekla: i mean if they will proxy it or no, im guessing they will
kakobrekla: not sure what their implementation will be exactly
davout: interesting, so it's sierracharts itself that collects the feed from mtgox
kakobrekla: this is fun: We see that the MTGox data feed is not entirely reliable and also from an engineering perspective, its technical implementation really is very confusing and not well structured. They are using what is called a web socket and then on top of that Socket I/O . This is unnecessary and the method by which this is implemented is not technically correct. So we are not very impressed with the MTGox data feed. This is just a comment.
BitHub: there are heaps of peeps working on software like that tho for cryptos
kakobrekla: you missed this? https://www.sierrachart.com/SupportBoard.php?ThreadID=527
kakobrekla: but lots of ppl use it to chart only
kakobrekla: yes you can trade from it
davout: like a client you connect to your broker ? (or directly to an exchange? i'd imagine not)
BitHub: very cool, i'll come back to it oneday
kakobrekla: if you use this socket
BitHub: i just had to pay for a subscription
kakobrekla: unless you want to use their servers
BitHub: sierra subscription only .8 for the year :)
kakobrekla: its opensouce, the client and protocol
BitHub: so this sierra mpex feed costs 1btc a year?
BitHub: you mean for all of them or just mpex?
kakobrekla: well pm me bithub when and if you want to set it up.
BitHub: i really need all of them
ThickAsThieves: NOTE: TAT Investments is currently the only passthrough provider that shares this level of transparency. It is our mission to set a new standard in bitcoin investments.
