firedrops: So where are the cardonos sold?
firedrops: as long as there is government..
mircea_popescu: whatever they're called.
mircea_popescu: i suspect there's always going to be a pair of those
kakobrekla: unless the nsa shuts down.
mircea_popescu: anyway, i'm persuaded there won't be such a thing as long term btc without such a thing as nsa.
firedrops: that's something I can get behind. time for reading http://mpex.co/?mpsic=S.NSA
mircea_popescu: all the tools one needs to make 100% systems, stuff no mob and no government can crack.
mircea_popescu: anyway, the20year1, there's good fundamental reasons for the lift. i wouldn't call it a bubble. that's not to say it may not bubble yet. hopefully it won't, but 300 ain't it at anuy rate.
firedrops: could someone give me the elevator speech for S.NSA?
mircea_popescu: but yes, without some very expert tacking, the fx issue is a big problem for all btc corps.
bubbalicious: ok, so you have the converse issue. only an advantage if it keeps skyrocketing.
mircea_popescu: this is like sega's wet dream come true
bubbalicious: and then drop it :)
mircea_popescu: and then slash it by preorder open
mircea_popescu: bubbalicious amusingly, we have the converse advantage : only corp in the world tio be able to announce a price,
bubbalicious: mircea_popescu: doesn't s.nsa have some of the same issues? cardano at 0.35 btc is getting more expensive by the minute.
mircea_popescu: well what many people say is not likelier to be true by even more saying it.
the20year1: Is BTC at current value a bubble or a long term thing? I was told by many, many, many people when we hit $250/btc that it would only go higher
mircea_popescu: kakobrekla well, they'll outperform 777.com at any rate.
mircea_popescu: anyway, don't get me wrong, i'm not the enemy here.
mircea_popescu: other people believed their life doesn't depend on btc fluctuations.
the20year1: My life doesn't depend on BTC fluxuations, nor does the business. If BTC outperforms the company, then the investors get less of a return, if the company outperforms BTC then they're even happier. Regardless for non-cryptos, we'll be outperforming just about everything
mircea_popescu: because it is tough to make 100% returns on your work only to have -50% returns in your accounting unit
mircea_popescu: in that you're a brave man. see you survive a coupla years somehow.
mircea_popescu: i discouraged various similar ventures with the simple fx argument. imo it's yet too soon, even if the business is in principle sound.
the20year1: Sure, and that's the currency risk as always
the20year1: Some people want USD denominated projects to hedge against BTC voatility
mircea_popescu: but you can appreciate the point, yes ?
firedrops: so you convert all to fiat iimmediately?
firedrops: hard to redo a house in btc
the20year1: Pitch - We buy property, fix it up and rent it out. Then we refinance via low interest loans and move onto new properties. All properties have to have 20% ROI prior to leverage.
mircea_popescu: ok. tell me what it is in 100 words sort of thing
bubbalicious: elevator speech: he is renting out houses in the midwest..
the20year1: Not familiar with the term
mircea_popescu: what's the elevator speech of it /
the20year1: moreso if we want to take on more investments
the20year1: I like it, granted with BF closing i'm not sure what we're going to do
firedrops: okay ppl. I have a coinbr account, HIM account, and finally I have 2btc. yes TWO! <--ballin'.
mircea_popescu: it's too weird not to work.
mircea_popescu: anyway, this has been useful in that next time i'm in a bar going to approach a chick it'll be all "hey, roundeyes! fancy a drink ?"
the20year1: because baring investors works like that
mircea_popescu: so they went to the trouble of making a us version just for nyah-nyah ? that's comedy.
Rts: No, I think it bars USers in the Prospectus
Rts: I believe so, that _Chinese_ wannabe

joecool: didn't think that was distinctly chinese
Rts: my apologies. I mean, is it possible for westerners to acquire shares of 796.com?
