the20year1: Technically i
think we're live now, but not listed on
the sidebar
the20year1: mike_c:
that's what
the rep i was
talking
to said
mircea_popescu: lol
ThickAsThieves you should have ofered 404 satoshi :D
nubbins`: mircea_popescu: actually, i don't
think i can even qualify my
treatment as sexual harassment, let alone rape
mircea_popescu: fun fact :
the marginal cost for an extra girl is about 4k/yr for me atm.
nubbins`: i
think you just wanted
to say OVER 9000
nubbins`: "oh shit,
this is
the guy who only good
things happen
to"
nubbins`: honestly
the worst part is
the hold music
nubbins`: i'll get what i want, just annoying because it
takes so long
nubbins`: in fairness,
they did say i could order a replacement for only $269.99999999
mircea_popescu: my
ten year old non-gps phone without special sounds or bs charges just fine
mircea_popescu: and
this is why i buy old models intended for
the african market.
wao-ender: next
time u will buy extended warranty
nubbins`: smh. phone is NINE DAYS out of warranty and won't charge, carrier
tells me
to PFO
wao-ender: I was always
thinking about it like, if computer catn decipher it, humans need
to use inteligence
mircea_popescu: so
turn
the privkey into a diced novella, print it, keep it around. w/e.
mircea_popescu: two machines connecting is no
threat
to either's airgap, provided
the other's not going online
jurov: and
that machine
to safe?
jurov: can be. plenty karosa buses here,
too
mike_c: that's not a bad backup
too. sign
those and bury
them in
the garden
jurov: but orders must be
taken from stat anyway
jurov: and apply
them from highest one
mircea_popescu: afaik if you don't have
the right qty it
tells you
to fuck off.
davout: can't you say a bazillion and it
takes
the min from
the qty and your holdings?
davout: just make a stat per asset, and add pushes as assets are added
to mpex
mircea_popescu: davout well
that's
the point where you find what assets you have.
mircea_popescu: like you now use key a, and spare is key b. after each stat for each asset push x
to b signed and stored.
mike_c: hm,
that's interesting. i'll have
to build
that into pympex v2
mircea_popescu: and it's better in
that i don't even need
to verify anything.
jurov: they give you antibitics not cuz you need
them, but
to make you happy
mircea_popescu: well ideally i should hope not, or else wtf, "which pill would you like
to
take
today, mr j"
mircea_popescu: imagine if hospitals were run on
the principle of whether
the customer was happy.
mike_c: i would like
to be able
to use mpex with keys
that i sign from my master key
that i've registered with you.
then i could use cardano with it.
mircea_popescu: happens
to be
the correct line
to hold, so... whatever,
they'll have
to get it out of my cold dead hands.
mike_c: that's a
tough line
to hold. it will be interesting if you can keep
that up.
mike_c: mircea_popescu: have you ever helped someone who lost
their mpex key?
Duffer1: companies need
to start investing in MPOE-PR brand customer relations
jurov: as if normaln gmail would be harder
to pwn
ThickAsThieves: also good advice
to not use your custom google apps domain email for registrations
mircea_popescu: rs cloud services
that many startups rely on
to host
their data. My startup, Droplr, is completely based on Amazons stack, from using EC2 servers where we host all of our
technology
to S3, which we use for file storage.
This attacker had access
to all of it. I was extremely lucky
that in his rush
to gain access
to @jb, he didnt
think
to check if my account had anything under AWS.
mircea_popescu: The scary
thing was
that I only
thought of
the
true implications of
this attack days later. As I was contemplating what had happened and how I could prevent it in
the future, a very frightening
thought occurred
to me.
This attacker started with Amazon because he knew
that a commerce shopping sites customer support would be relatively easy
to convince and use
to gain access
to my account. However,
that same site offe
mircea_popescu: i dun recall who originally posted
that coupla days back
mircea_popescu: "could we have
the last 4 digits of your address which is also your private key ? don't worry, we'll keep
the rest secret nothing could possibly go wrong"
BingoBoingo: Transactions from addresses are also signed by private keys which are also
the addresses. Basically
the same way credit cards work in
the US, what could go wrong?
mike_c: i
thought listing was yesterday?
BingoBoingo: jurov: Sure Rot13 where
the alphabet consists entirely of Zeros might be prefect.
jurov: what about using rot13
then?
jurov: i.e.
to make exact hash for
the block
jurov: wouldn't you hit
the maximal possible difficulty quickly with md4?
pankkake: though of course it's scammers scamming scammers, and might not matter in
the end
mircea_popescu: then go "o oops, what you mean we said we'll
turn off miners ?!?!"
pankkake: which is
the case for coingen, btw :)
pankkake: you can instamine anything as long as
the difficulty is low, or diff adjustment is bad
BingoBoingo: pankkake: A plus of MD4 coin is you can pretty much instamine and
them market make. Click post on
the forum
to make
the
thread.
Then start your miner
then... Profit! Chain mined before
the
thread gets a reply.
jurov: i mean, ukyo hints
to some btc
transactions corrupted by bitcoind
pankkake: BingoBoingo: quite annoying as you have
to manage
the pools
too
ThickAsThieves: if it helps, Altcoin should be 512 Block Rate, 512 block value, 262144 halving, 268435456
total coins
pankkake: ok well, either I'll have
the source
tonight or in a few days
ThickAsThieves: i didnt mind HTML class, but once i got
to javascript class, i was like fuck
this bullshit
pankkake: oh good at least I see
that
the pzsTimestamp is
the same as Bitcoin
jurov: did you make a picture css of neobee building
too?
mircea_popescu: instead of ppl ordering ?

ThickAsThieves: i dont actually make
the CSS, just pictures of what it should look like
