HeySteve: ah
that's bad form, a man honours his debts
BingoBoingo: numerisTrade: My waking hours as well as my online hours can be rather unpredictable even for myself. If you can find and event and we can agree
to it before it plays I'd be amenable.
joecool: Matthew N. Wright is a former Republican member of
the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
HeySteve: another scammer from old
times?
numerisTrade: ok, I'll prepare something. If you aren't on
the channel
then, I'll leave you a message, I'll be on
the channel up
till 21:00 GMT, or we'll meet
tomorrow same
time as
today
BingoBoingo: I'd also be open
to considering sports where you might have
the knowledge advantage provided you can specify a decent resolution source.
BingoBoingo: numerisTrade: We are all small,
this space is still small. I mean +m only happened Friday.
BingoBoingo: Since
this is a kind of novel
thing it may be best if we keep
the stakes low at 0.01 BTC simply because unescrowed bets have such a poor history in BTC so far
thanks
to MNW
BingoBoingo: numerisTrade: I may not be awake
then, but if I am I would still be amenable.
numerisTrade: ok, would you agree if we conducted
this later on
today? e.g. 2 p.m. GMT?
BingoBoingo: 5) If you win
the bet you get coins and lended
trust, or you lose and pay for
trust for being a person of word in
this matter
BingoBoingo: numerisTrade: Well I was going
to suppose something along
the lines of:
BingoBoingo: A number of students were shaken
the rest of
the morning after I broke
the news
fluffypony: BingoBoingo: yeah
this was in early 2010
BingoBoingo: fluffypony:
The best place
to get baseball knowledge
BingoBoingo: numerisTrade: Well, since lending is about pricing risk I was going
to suppose a challenge where you might price risk for
trust
fluffypony: my knowledge of baseball comes from
two weeks in St. Louis
fluffypony: BingoBoingo: borrowing when
tipsy...? :-P
BingoBoingo: numerisTrade: Pick a baseball game happening
tomorrow
BingoBoingo: numerisTrade: You're welcome. Since
the channel's quiet I'm
trying
to
think about ways
to give you level 2 with Assbot by
trusting you
that involve risk incurred on your part.
BingoBoingo: Well I guess since
the second life
thing
they
trade has been around,
they probably function. It's just like
they added support for crypto currencies while neglecting any sort of outreach. Also
their limits seemed kind of crap when I
tried
them.
numerisTrade: I had some
technical issues once,
the support reacted quickly
numerisTrade: well, I don't
trust
them with a lot of money, but everything seemed ok
BingoBoingo: Wait
TheRock is a
thing? I made an account
there once hoping
to dump freexrp without a colonoscopy, but... seemed sketch
BingoBoingo: I'm a bit
tipsy, but I'll
take a look at it.
numerisTrade: gradually paving my way
to bitcoin finance, currently starting with secured loans / repo
transactions on small scale
mircea_popescu: kako did
the hard work which is why i should be getting all
the praise
bloctoc: for
the record I don't know what secular means in
this context.
bloctoc: does
that mean it's a secular
thing? I've seen some NMC services.
bloctoc: whoever set it up
thanks. Have my prize.
Apocalyptic: I haven't said
this, but I
think
the new policy is a good idea,
ty mircea
bloctoc: seems like
the price of bitcoin went up quite a bit with
this new voice policy
Apocalyptic: <the20year1> gribble keeps giving me an error when i do
the pastebin
thing // what's
the error
then ?
Apocalyptic: the20year1, have you submitted
the keys
to GPG servers ?
the20year1: That's what i did, and it seemed like I still needed
to register
the20year1: does
that work for original registration?
BingoBoingo: I always just eauth and do
the decrypt
thing
the20year1: gribble keeps giving me an error when i do
the pastebin
thing
the20year1: spent like 30m
today
trying
to figure out how
to authenticate via gpg and couldn't do it
assbot: Voicing
the20year1 for 30 minutes.
bloctoc: I don't know what
that means
joecool: there's a process
to go
through
to appeal a fine in
this sort of situation
joecool: hired a better firm
this year,
they went over it and warned us we had
to file, paid
the filing fees from last year, and warned us
to expect a letter from
the IRS asking for damages
mircea_popescu: kinda stupid, why not use
the year
to create a
tax liability
joecool: i'm in
this situation from
the last company i started, initial accountant gave us horrible advice for 2012 since we formed
the LLC in november and
turned *very* small revenue, said it would be under limit
to file
joecool: for
the
tax liability yes, fines (not interest)
though i believe would get waived
joecool: the individual signs off
to say
they are reporting
their income and such
to
the best of
their knowledge
joecool: well i mean if you actually look at
the returns,
the accountant is signing off
to say
they believe
the return
to be
true
to
the best of
their knowledge under penalty of perjury
mircea_popescu: so
they re-allocated all
teh customers
to
the shortlist of competent accountants all around
town
mircea_popescu: turns out, an accountant handling
the accounts of ~200 small businesses had been found by
the
tax authority
to not have filed anything for months
mircea_popescu: actually a VERY similar
thing happened here last year. i arrive at my accountant's office, usually a quiet place with maybe 1-2 other people present, cause
the gal is nuts abour scheduling,
to find it in complete
turmoil, bunches of evidently panicked people.
joecool: accountant pocketed his
tax payments, didn't file for 7 years,
then kicked
the bucket, no idea about
the
truth of it all
mike_c: what does 'held negligent' mean? you have
to pay
the penalties..
mircea_popescu: basically, as a us citizen you're better off if your accountant runs off with your money
than if your accountant misfiles your
taxes.
joecool: i'm assuming
tax accountants carry insurance for
this sort of
thing
joecool: mike_c: for
the amounts paid, but can't be held negligent if accountant fucks up
joecool: not sure how
that works if
the
tax accounting firm fucks it up badly, does fed go after
them or
the individual?
gribble: Rating entry successful. Your rating of 1 for user
TomServo has been recorded.
assbot: Voice for
TomServo extended
to 30 minutes.
TestingUnoDosTre: just make sure it's from a person on
the Wot,
then
they'll give you a rate
mircea_popescu: once
the Level 2: reads > 0 you can pm assbot !up and it'll voice you
TomServo: Ah, so even being in wot I still need
to ask for voice?
mircea_popescu: maybe we'll hold a yearly vote at
the conference
to add more
to
the l1 list
mircea_popescu: i suppose each of
the 29 will publish
their own personal criteria, if/when
they get around
to it
mircea_popescu: more's
the point...
to
this day
there are people running around claiming
they're... "journalists"
TomServo: I'm sure it's been done
to death, but could someone point me
to instructions on getting into assbots wot?
