dub: its not all bad, the old job
I worked from home 90% of the time and since home is near the beach
I 'worked' from the beach a fair bit
dub: so
I left and got hired immediately by a customer for a shitload more
dub: they said ok and did nothing for another couple of months, so
I calmly resigned. They shat brix, offered a decent retention package but no real improvement
dub:
I just calmly told old employer they didnt value me enough
mircea_popescu: But please understand
I tried the best at the best of my ability and
I can't take any of this anymore.
I am not the right man for this job. Your new ASIAN benefactors will be online soon to greet you all
mircea_popescu: just how many of these original idiots are left
i wonder.
mircea_popescu: yes
I had a few drinks before
I posted that post (last night) -
I was fucking heart broken, some of you look at my like im a fucking scammer and it kills me -
I helped start some of the infrastructure Bitcoin runs on today, and have set many Bitcoin firsts
mircea_popescu: "please leave your number with Dave so
I can call you because those other numbers are no longer working"
mod6: good things will happen.
I'm pretty good at getting this stuff figured out, its just a matter of time.
mod6: but anyway,
I'm just gonna keep working at it.
mod6:
I'm working through them, but lack of time has slowed me down a lot.
mod6:
I thought it would be /way/ easier to do this.
mod6: well, maybe
I don't exactly care what the community says exactly.
I do care that the users have a good experience and it doesn't fuck up their account at MPEx or allow for loss of private key.
jurov:
i knew for certain coinbr pricing won't be "well received by the community"
mod6:
I really care about how well it works, and if it is well received by the community.
I just gotta get these loose ends wrapped up.
mod6: "
I SENT IN .1 BTC 3 MONTHS AGO, WHERE IS MY APP!!!"
mod6: But
I'm not sure about that...
I don't like the idea of someone bitching about it here or on the boards or whatever.
mod6: Well, there is a model, kind of, that
I've been kicking around.
I've thought about the donation thing -- if donations were accepted, they could go straight to the developers who help.
mod6: Now its just hard because
I get like 69 minutes here and there to dive into it. Makes it tough.
mod6:
I really just want to do BitOTTer full time. Hopefully that'll be sooner rather than later.
mod6: Anyway,
I think
I'll just have to switch it up this year perhaps. If
I can find the right fit, that would be nice.
mod6: Well aside from not wanting to be a cog in the wheel of Google,
I never want to live in California.
jurov: now
i won't consider it, too. they missed their chances :P
jurov: looool, if google did call me,
i'd move there. on my own expense
mod6:
I've spent more time talking about what DNS is and how it works ... omg
mod6: its just hard because
I've got no help. And
I've got two 65+ year old guys who are supposed to help with "support", but lol.
mod6: Yeah, but after 18 months of trying to get them to the table, all
I've received is some Warrents.
mod6:
I dont think they could easily replace me.
jurov:
i don't get it. if you really do the work of 3 seniors, it's not like they can find a replacement in a week
mod6: no one likes to be ripped off, yet,
I'm being ripped off with out much to do about it.
mod6: jurov: well, its not desperation really. its that im stubborn when
I feel like
I'm being taken for a ride.
mod6:
i mainly walk every where
I go these days.
mod6:
I guess you're not missing anything.
mod6: omg thats such a long story.
i haven't owned a car since 2007
mod6: which is why
I cant drive or even own a car.
mod6:
I'm neary back on my feet, but the amt of $ is small, and it hardly covers the rising costs of shit.
mod6:
i dunno. its a big problem.
mod6: but
I'd rather revolt than work there another single day.
mod6: which
i did, for 9 months after the crash.
mod6: well, im describing it poorly. its my problem.
i've told these people off a lot, but the money keeps coming in, and there arn't a lot of other options for a guy like me.
jurov: between screaming and calmly announcing
i'm outta here is big difference
mod6: yeah,
i screamed at these guys... for 18 months.
mod6: but.. in the mean time,
I still gotta generate worthless $$ so
I can pay the rent and the power and the internet
mod6: and now
i'm pissed off, so here
i am :)
jurov: can't you tell you are leaving? it worked for me (except
i was leaving regardless of money)
mod6: see,
i get a base, but
I'm supposed to make some more off the sale of the equity or whatever.
mod6:
I dont drive... but thats where the idea came from.
mod6: and
I've already been there, done that, so ... whatever
mod6: and... its nuts, can't catch a break on anything.
I want to do bitotter full time, but if
I did that,
I'd be out on the street.
mircea_popescu: This is an ironclad guaranteed shipping date and
I give my personal word and reputation on this date.
mircea_popescu: "march seems like a long way away but its really not and besides
i was not going to set another possibly uni obtainable date and than fall short."
mod6:
I want it to get finished,
I just wish
I could get it done.
mod6:

I needed to
I couldn't
jurov: so you are trading on mpex while driving?
i should ban you before mircea does :)
jurov: but
i'm uncool dork sticking to phones with qwerty keyboard anyway
mircea_popescu: other than that,
i expect spreads to also be wider, obviously, and volatilty higher.
FabianB: it was 48 on bitfunder though before it got there on mpex
i think
mircea_popescu: Bugpowder
i expect them to be underpriced on all the pt's because of the cost of getting shares sent to mpex accts
mircea_popescu: "Not yet :-) Maybe we can save bASIC somehow ... we still work on that :-)
I hope in 1 week we will know how we stand in this project."
markedathome:
I'm in chrome, and
I don't see the view market link. however in the source to /assetlist
I can see a href=/market (line 92)
dub:
I select all'd and don't see a hidden element, nor is firebug showing any failed calls

kakobrekla: last block on blockchain info
i see is 901
smickles: wow,
i've made roughly a 50% gain on s.dice
Bugpowder: If they were a stock
I would panic sell
smickles: kakobrekla: cool, just thought
i'd let you know :)
mircea_popescu: o wait,
i guess that bitfinex stolen code thing also ?
mircea_popescu: here it's important,
i think, because otherwise the flavour of the entire thing slowly turns to shit.
dub: but
I can only find news|asset list|t&c
dub: pretty sure
I looked at it last night
dub:
I must be mistaking it with another site
dub: all
