Bowjob: so
I came in pretty late in the game
Bowjob:
I missed the pirate boatshow, bruce wagner, ASIC announcement
benkay: being of sound mind and body,
i'm converting my fiat as fast as
i can, and spending the rest
Bowjob: hey. in the future,
i'll just end up spendingBTC
Bowjob: at first
i was like.. yeah bitch imma cash out!
mircea_popescu: it's gotten to the point
i can't sleep cause
i miss out
Bowjob: while it is true,
I feel the article is outdated
billg: yes
i meant asicminer
smickles: jborkl:
I put a 'thank you' line into the windows install instructions, is that ok with you?
unbalanced: Ah
I was just looking for more info re: your mention of the ASICMINER above
Namworld:
I don't see hashing having much of an impact.
Namworld:
I thought billg was referring to the [16:53] <@assbot> [BTCTC] [ASICMINER-PT] 2 @ 0.858988 = 1.718 BTC [-] thing
jborkl:
I am trying Kivy launcher on Android,
I will let you know how it goes
smickles: jborkl:
I have not. Currently, my goals are to improve the look of the long lists, then get all mpex commands into the gui. That said,
i've looked at what it takes to deploy a kivy app on android and it seems entirely doable
peterl: From what
I read in the AsicMiner thread it sounded like he used a generous line width, which
I think means they will be pretty robust?
deadweasel:
i'd just be afraid of buying a rushed product.
benkay:
i don't play in the space, but
i thought they were like 15k
peterl:
I mean, if you can keep mining on them for years it would lower the capital costs, but if they burn up in a couple months it is a ll a waste
smickles: kakobrekla:
i hadn't seen those charts of yours before. Would it be tough for you to add a 1 month chart?
unbalanced: Thousands of Europeans fleeing tax grabs are probably more of a factor
I guess.
jborkl:
I think we are at a unique point reached in January
jborkl:
I agree overall security does not provide hash double and price double
unbalanced: Namworld: excuse my thickness but how would more hash power (ASICMINER) drive up BTC/USD? It sounds logical but
I'm not sure
I understand the cause/effect steps
unbalanced: benkay: sorry for the delay
I was off reading - good idea!
jborkl: smickles,
I just read Cython is included in Kivy for windows- So no need to download that separate
jborkl: also,
I forgot to add- you need to choose to have Kivy open the mpexgui- right click and assign it to always open this file
smickles: jborkl: Thanks for the instructions. The only thing is that you shouldn't need pympex to get the MPEx gui to work, otherwise
I'd be breaking pympex's license
Namworld:
I've removed ask and will buy back at least a good portion of it.
Namworld: Imagine if price skyrockets to 1k USD a BTC during this which
I expect to be a bubble and all BTC-BOND holders want to cash out right away? Would be expensive to buy and complicated to sell assets to cover them.
MJR_:
I hedged by investing dollars to lend at bitfinex
Namworld:
I was thinking of slowly buying back tho.
Namworld: yeah, not going to drop at 2.5 again
I think...
unbalanced: Namworld:
I agree,
I don't know where it'll be in a year or 5 but
I can't see it back at 2.50.
Namworld:
I'm waiting for the price to go down. Even if it doesn't... well
I have a fair amount of BTC even if not much.
unbalanced: OTOH, if this keeps up for 100 more years,
I may eventually be rich.
Namworld: Well
I'm sure Bitcoin is raising in value, regardless of this exponential price rise.
Namworld: 100 oz giant gold coins
I keep collecting everywhere.
unbalanced:
I hear he invented Bitcoin. Or was it the internet?
jborkl: ok, cool-
I just got it working- took a break from yesterday.
smickles: jborkl: btw,
i'm working on improving the appearance of the 'long list' sort of things like bids/asks and the overall market view
smickles: jborkl:
I'd love to have them :)
jborkl: smickles,
I have some windows user install instructions
jurov: if today someone on the street asked me what bitcoin costs,
i'll be liek
topace:
i should figure out how to auth myself with gribble again
pigeons:
i cant even succintly explain all the stupid involved for a rating
pigeons: and
i did do business with him ,
i bought his cdos from mpex and he proceeded to sell all the C out from the DOs and then told me it was impossible for cpa to go bankrupt when
i asked him about it
smickles: also, people have been scammed b/c
i didn't rate people
pigeons:
i used to hold back more, but people have been scammed and
i never said anything
pigeons: benkay:
i disagree as does the founder of the web of trust
benkay: but *
I think* that it's bad form...
benkay: pigeons, correct me if
i'm wrong, but it's bad form to rate someone without having performed a transaction with them
benkay:
i trust your read on the thing
smickles: benkay: basically, shit was hitting the fan with glbse,
I asked him if he'd be able to pay. he said yes, then vanished for a while, defaulted and then said
i was heartless
pigeons:
i just let them think im stuoid
benkay: (also it turns out
i do need a vpn, for efficiency. the thing about using irony online is that you have to explain it to people. hence, "coathanger".)
benkay: but while we're on the topic, what was the actual point you were trying to make?
i can't read it through all the funny.
benkay:
i need a vpn to do my stuff
XRPTrader2:
i think the real question is "how many russian mobsters do we need to get to buy bitcoin?" :D
benkay:

jcpham:
i bet you'll never guess
jcpham: hey pigeons guess who

pigeons: and he claims
I sent derived an edited copy, which
I did not
pigeons: usagi is offline now but he sent me a query that he's upset because he claimed
i lied to him because he told me not to post the spreadsheet to a public web page or post it to the forum
jurov: kako
