mod6: This is a good thing though, because if these guys get wholly onboard, bye-bye fake-economy job, hello bitcoin land!
mod6: I should have just started a live auction for 'em. Maybe next time.
mod6: I brought 3 .1 BTC paper wallets with me to pass around, so that gave them something to hold and concider while the discussion was going on... after I left I wanted to kick myself.
mod6: im sure if they could get something like that going so that people could play their slots from their couch as opposed to driving 40 miles to the casino they'd be happy.
mod6: they're getting less and less business from what I understand,.. the money is drying up quite a bit so gaming has been light
mod6: right now when you go into the casino, you can put cash onto your players card -- and when you walk up to a machine you just put your card in.
mod6: I think they'd be better off funding some iPad-bitcoin-slotmachines
mod6: i explained the BFL and avalon stuff to them. I think they're pretty sweet on mining. But the online-poker site is something they'd like to see get built. they own a full legal casino here, so I'm trying to get them to see how this would be awesome for gaming, mainly.
mod6: but he said he's gonna contact them etc to see what he can find out lol
mod6: one of the dudes over there has been blowing me up for a few weeks about these avalons.. he wants to buy a few to start to do some mining.. and that turned into a lengthy discussion.
mod6: get him on bit4x kakobrekla
mod6: one dude outright called me "Crazy" and "a crackhead" lol
mod6: then they start to see....
mod6: *STARE INTO SPACE*
mod6: my whole thing is, "if you think that platnium is $1tn because they need it to hypothicate some new money, what does that say about the price of gold, silver or bitcoin?"
mod6: there was even talk about the Trillion Dollar Coin for like 20 minutes lol
mod6: haha, the discussion was HEATED at first... "WHAT IS IT BACKED BY???!!!11" that kinda thing.
mod6: but after talking about this for like 3 or 4 hours... they started to understand btc a bit more and what its important
mod6: haha. not exactly. but at first the guys who are long paper had some FEAR that they're paper is going to 0. and rightly so....
mod6: cool beans
mod6: very lengthy and lively discussion on all things money/econ/bitcoin
mod6: yeah, so that ended up going pretty well lastnight.
mod6: just do like `find / -name "bitcoin.conf"`
mod6: hmm
mod6: its not ~/.bitcoin ?
mod6: oh sorry.
mod6: this is turning out pretty well.
mod6: they love what MPEx is, and we talked about bitbet for a while and how that works...
mod6: maybe so. but after talking to 'em and answering questions for 2 hours they're getting it.
mod6: (18:54) < kakobrekla> prolly the last ppl you want to mention btc to
mod6: more in a bit...
mod6: talk about all-time complacentcy
mod6: alot of these guys in here are very wealthy, and haha, bitcoin and this discussion is scaring the shit out of them
mod6: bbl
mod6: i gotta get back to it.
mod6: lol stop trollin me
mod6: The United States of Amerika
mod6: dude.
mod6: wat
mod6: so we're talkin about what's really taking place.
mod6: or more directly, the us.
mod6: if you mean who, i mean the world
mod6: or do you mean who's fucked aethero?
mod6: some homies
mod6: brb, these guys are having a full argument about cash and what the fed does and how in debt/fucked we are...
mod6: that'd be sweet!
mod6: i passed around .1 BTC on a paper wallet, that was the basic reaction ;)
mod6: haha, nice mircea_popescu
mod6: kakobrekla: these are the guys who are involved with the legalized casino gaming in minnesota.
mod6: i'll tell you guys more later. but this is pretty cool conversation over here. people are really receptive to btc -- and these people totally non-technical.
mod6: has caused quite the discussion on currency and dollars.
mod6: heheh, telling this whole room of people about bitcoin...
mod6: :D
mod6: ahh werd
mod6: 7.62x39 to the ball bag != good day
mod6: yikes
mod6: ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US
mod6: http://video.cnbc.com/gallery/?play=1&video=3000150533
mod6: o rly?
mod6: <bernakazi> We're not engaged in a currency war.
mod6: :]
mod6: topace: yeah, seems like it would be some good arbitrage oppertunities -- im sure with this automated demand would pick up over time.
mod6: this seems like it could work pretty good with some testing
mod6: yeah, i see.
mod6: so much for returning FALSE
mod6: http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.gnupg-verify.php#89192
mod6: If verification fails, the gnupg_verify() returns the key's id instead of fingerprint . It does not return FALSE as stated above (PHP4, have not tested PHP5). You can compare it with result of keyinfo:
mod6: hahaha
mod6: i'd be nice to know what {1,2,3,4...} are for! lol
mod6: back to the first statement: On success, this function returns information about the signature. On failure, this function returns FALSE.
mod6: at least not easily found or whatever :/
mod6: its shitty when neat-o libraries don't define their return statements, nor can they be correlated to a given spec.
mod6: yeah it seems like it could work out decent. doing it manually in tandom for a while would be good to ensure that the correct values get to the correct accounts, etc.
mod6: yeah, seems like if you could know for certain about 1-6 it could work pretty good. could reek havoc though if there was any problems.
mod6: good luck :)
mod6: yeah, this could get hairy dude.
mod6: ok... so with the receipt you just parse that on the remote end and use that to verify.
mod6: OH
mod6: how do you specify a destination?
mod6: but how? i mean, on mpex its just like "PUSH|MPSIC|LONGKEYFINGERPRINT|QTY"
mod6: s/i'd/it'd/
mod6: i would think that i'd have to be different to discern who person A is on the remote system and just dump the 1 XYZ in there, while keeping the 1 XYZ in holdings on MPEx
mod6: i don't know how one does that. In my mind, person A owns 1 share of XYZ and he can push to another key on the MPEx keyring (weather it exists on the keyring or not) ... but how does one push this to a remote keyring?
mod6: i remember you saying this before.
mod6: fair enough
mod6: hmm. so if validity is > 0 you're ok?
mod6: what does it say if you make it fail
mod6: ahh, well too bad its not like perl where you can just look in the PM to find what's what.
mod6: http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.gnupg-verify.php
mod6: so maybe any integer returned is ok
mod6: On success, this function returns information about the signature. On failure, this function returns FALSE.
mod6: *grin*
mod6: haha
mod6: yeah!
mod6: how's it goin today :]
mod6: !ticker m s.mpoe
mod6: night
mod6: im trying to remember who it was...
mod6: haha, i want to say that I remember that.
