truffles: at current prices
i prob should look into ltc
fiat500:
i am investing in a virtual currency and that is a risk in and of itself,
i dont need a babysitter :P
kakobrekla:
i guess shorthand for it would be b4x then
fiat500: furuknap:
i pulled out of bfx after their protection fiasco
Chaaang-Noi: <fiat500> you guys let emotion get
i nthe way of money? at times yes,
i use money as a tool for power....
fiat500: you guys let emotion get
i nthe way of money?
truffles:
i think that since mp doesnt like me, u decide not to like me also
fiat500: Chaaang-Noi: right, hence why
i was wondering
kakobrekla:
i think you dont see putting yourself 1 mil into anything cause you dont have 1 mil
fiat500:
i dont see myself putting 1mil USD into btct for instance (definitely not mpex)
furuknap: OK, guys,
I'm back. Overslept this morning. How are everyone doing?
Chaaang-Noi:
i only hold AM and a bit of cognitive, about 5% of cog
furuknap:
I have more than
I started with, and beyond that it's none of your business :-P
Chaaang-Noi:
i have over a million usd in btc securtities
ThickAsThieves:
i'd say if youre smart enough to find this room, you might be worth having in here, except that now mp is tweeting it
truffles: great then
i can finally get some playmoney
furuknap: It was just that
I poked a bit of fun at the sell-off that lead to drop from 122ish to 119ish.
fiat500: if that turns out to be a scam
i have no way to get any of my investment back
fiat500: furuknap: this is a lot less risky than the ~$5k
i sunk into single SCs
Chaaang-Noi:
i am trusting, im also about to give him 100k usd :)
fiat500: furuknap:
i just bought 8 shares lol
ThickAsThieves: The first person
I ever talked to in bitcoin was evoorhees,
ThickAsThieves:
i also hear that the sdice "whale" has magically reappeared
Chaaang-Noi: fiat500 if
i were you
i could buy cognitive as a hedge on your AM
fiat500:
i have about 2btc left over on btct after buying those AM shares, what would be a good satoshi stock to buy?
Chaaang-Noi:
i dont know if
i would but into bitinstant or not
Chaaang-Noi:
i think even that is too high but want proof to show mp and all the other retards
Chaaang-Noi:
i want to buy at .001 just to lulz on the forum
fiat500: Chaaang-Noi:
i would wait and see how this purported blocking of US plays out
BitHub: ahh
i see fiat, be hard for someone to order 100th worth of BFL?
BitHub: that's why
i want to buy a batch of hardware wallets
fiat500: BitHub:
i mean someone with a bfl farm
furuknap: In scale, it seems that 100TH is the only thing currently lined up to match AM.
I threw a few coins there to see what stuck. Either it goes to zero or it works. As far as
I know, neither Avalon, BFL, or the swedes have anything public.
BitHub:
i'm looking for the next asicminer to get into :)
fiat500: but
i have no evidence to back it
Chaaang-Noi:
i forget some people got involved to make fiat :)
fiat500:
i bought some single SCs but
i find this virtual AM share business pretty enticing
furuknap: In that case,
I'd do more research, fiat :-)
Chaaang-Noi:
i dont want to evaluate, you guys forget that we invested in the idea ages ago... we no longer need investors.. we dont care, we dont need money....
furuknap: That's why one of the things
I asked friedcat to start publishing is financial reports. Once a quarter is fine, more frequent isn't really necessary.
furuknap:
I've tried to understand that, but
I haven't found anything. It's mostly "we retain some money" but nothing solid about expenses, running or expected.
Chaaang-Noi:
i asked him in a board meeting, might not have been a rule but he said tehy wont sell the 200k
Chaaang-Noi:
i dont think they can even sell the shares
Chaaang-Noi:
i have a lot of stock and im slowly cashing out cuz
i want hookers and coke money... but AM is pretty damn solid
furuknap:
I probably would hold at 1.5 and possibly higher too if
I knew more about the future plans, progress in 2nd gen chips, and if they were to hold back more of the dividends to secure themselves against future opporyunity loss.
ThickAsThieves:
I believe that the only reason we havent seen 200TH yet
Chaaang-Noi: well to be honest, im selling a bit at 2 and 2.5, not buying, but
i would hold at 1.5 to 2
furuknap:
I just don't see the value that everyone else wants to pay.
furuknap: They will have to be, and
I really think they will be, but the picture isn't as one-sided as everyone thinks. Right now, we're cheering that AM wins the race every week, but nobody seems to notice there is only one horse.
furuknap: Yeah,
I saw that. Don't think it's that much of an effect, though.
furuknap: TAT: Very simple, there's no way
I can get more reward from the dividends than
I can from selling the shares.
Chaaang-Noi: furuknap
i think you undervalue it,
i think we will see 3 btc before 1.5 btc
furuknap: Chaang, it depends on how you evaluate risk. In my striclty personal opinion,
I would evaluate a price between 1.3 and 1.5 to support my risk profile with a reasonable yield and expecting a network hash rate between 10 and 15% on overage over five years.
furuknap:
I assume BFL or someone will ship in the next three years, yes.
truffles: furuknap if u wrote like this on the website
i might read at least 50% of it!!
ThickAsThieves: if
i buy AM at 2, and it pays 10% yield, and
I sell it at 1.95,
I have profited
Chaaang-Noi:
i was IRL once, but it was boring and too slow, so BTC
furuknap: Let's make a simple example. You can give me 10 coins now in escrow, and every year
I will give you 1 coin in interest, thus yielding 10% per year. However, after 4 years, your initial 10 coins will be reduced to 5 coins. Thus, the yield is not 10%, it is negative 2.5% because over four years, you're left with 9 coins.
furuknap: No,
I'm trying to say that the amount of coin a mining operation yields will need to be taken into account now, knowing that the value of a share is likely to drop of revenue from dividends drop.
Chaaang-Noi: yeah
i kinda only value this stuf up to 2 eyars
furuknap: Nope.
I care for price only to the extent it affects cost of halving effect.
furuknap:
I'm not trying to predict price, only value.
truffles:
i thought it was a forgone conclusion that we would have RFID chips and that digital money would be the norm
furuknap:
I'm not trying to do so, only find a way to evaluate what the fundamental value of a mining asset is.
ThickAsThieves: because
i am fairly confident that no theory could dismantle shareholder speculation and an unpredictable future
furuknap: To the extent of my abilities, it will be. It's not as much a report as a description of the method used to come to the analysis
I mentioned previously.
