I think enabling these kinds of bets would bring in more betters, at the cost of holding onto their btc for a long time, and dealing with a potentially large book of unresolved bets.

bgupta: I'll add a +1 on the bet escrow idea, but I really want the feature to have bets close to new bets further out than 7 days before the resolution date. (Consider it a feature request, that I would use if implemented.)

bgupta: Yeah you'd have the issue of a bunch of unresolved bets, but I think that could be dealt with on the UX side. (Custom weighting could help, but it doesn't solve the issue, it just means late bettors would have to bet even more, which could work I guess, but makes the math required, more conplex for users.)
