Diablo-D3: yes, and now
I think he may actually BE an NSA employee
nubbins`: anyway, next year,
i'll hopefully remember this fiasco, and switch providers
nubbins`: but
i mean, seriously. it's an insurance company -- they generally only deal with large payments
nubbins`: then
i said "so why don't you guys take credit cards, anyway?"
nubbins`:
i paid my home insurance ($1200) with fives
nubbins`: so
i couldn't pay for a case of beer with a couple of those $20 coins
dexX7: "Your zenpad was delivered, albeit with some delay.
I don't think it's fair to call us scammers. Could you please take down this report ? we would sincerely appreciate it"
Namworld: ah,
I see its in speculation, none in investment tho
Namworld:
I don't see it on bitcointalk.org
dexX7: actm is getting more and more solid imho. basically not much has changed, but from time to time
i'm almost surprised how solid ken handles stuff
dexX7: oh did
i already miss the ken interview?
thestringpuller:
I think a bitcoin bank in detroit would be perfect, the feds wouldn't care
Kleeck__: Not sure if
I'd rather have more hashing power later or half of my money back, ala Terrahash.
pankkake: no,
I'm missed the interview too
smickles: ;;later tell mircea_popescu jurov tell me
i'm being useless today
smickles: jurov:
i thought
i was pointing out that the opensource stuff was fixed back in 2008, if he used the proprietary stuff it'd be no good
nubbins`: anyway
i have tenants moving in tomorrow, gotta clean up a bit
pankkake:
I hope someone does My Little Pony coins
truffles: not a big deal for us, some of us wont make it that far
i guess
nubbins`: and
i don't forsee any problems with exchanging them as face value
nubbins`: anyway, point being,
i think these coins are great
Diablo-D3: nubbins`:
I have, some of them are exceedingly clever
nubbins`: so
i go to the bank instead. problem solved
Diablo-D3:
I dont care if the coin says $100 CDN
Diablo-D3: so if you show up with an oz of silver,
I am paying you $2x for it.
Diablo-D3: nubbins`:
I think you misunderstood
Namworld: They're purely collector coins/souvenir/memorabilia.
I don't think they're meant for investment nor circulation.
Namworld: like 100-200 models yearly
I guess.
nubbins`: anyway, the point
i was making is
Diablo-D3: because
I'd totally show up with a ton
Namworld: As
I said, face value and metal contents are always completly unrelated with canadian mint coins.
truffles: time machine
i wouldnt chose that ..
Diablo-D3: nubbins`:
I become one of the richest men alive
Diablo-D3: nubbins`: if
I build a time machine, shovel a million dollars into it, go back in time to the day the Fed was opened
Diablo-D3: nubbins`: well, this is what fiat currency does to you, it makes you think what
I said was odd
nubbins`: pigeons: on what point am
i mistaken?
pankkake: nubbins`: well,
I doubt they would accept it
nubbins`: pankkake: you mean, how can
i exchange my $20 coin for $20?
Diablo-D3: Namworld: well, to be fair,
I _prefer_ the physical currency being worthless
nubbins`: but
i can walk into a store and purchase $20 worth of goods with it
nubbins`: and that's why
i find these coins so interesting
nubbins`:
i guess
i'm mildly confused about the lol
nubbins`: and the $20 for $20 silver coins are,
i think, 1/4oz
Diablo-D3: its why
I'll accept gold and silver from any major mint
nubbins`: play your cards right,
i might sell you one ;)
FabianB_: pigeons:
i guess same url, tomorrow noon gmt
Diablo-D3: Namworld: you own 14% of DMC,
I wonder who the other 86% is
Namworld:
I guess
I'll keep an offline list.
Namworld: "[07:07] <Namworld> ok well
I found what to liquidate.
Apocalyptic: nope that's the link
i was looking for, thanks !
Namworld: ok well
I found what to liquidate.
Namworld: Let's see what
I can cash out... hmm.
mircea_popescu: Namworld
i would say prepare for a freeze in finance. winter's coming.
Namworld: ugh, so many requests to cash out BTC-BOND. Anyone wants to get them or should
I start liquidating a bit of stuff?
mircea_popescu:
i personally think most of its potential hasn't really been unlocked yet.
VanCleef:
i gotta admit
i really enjoy bitbet
mircea_popescu: but yes, it's a weak bet,
i wouldn't risk too much dust on it.
mircea_popescu:
i like that best. 4 btc bet on like... 29/100`000 weight.
mod6: "Suck it Pizza-dick
I will be spending up your sweet sweet btc next weekend :D" << lol
mod6:
i just need it to interact, get a response and display. once that's done. code cleanup + testing on my actual device instead of the emu.
mod6: actually,
i already know it works since
i tested them while enc/dec with my own key without having to leave the local system.
mod6: next week too (after sunday)
i'll be testing to make sure that the RSA enc/dec of the cmds is working as it should.
mod6:
i'll take a deeper look this coming week.
mod6:
i've got all the 1.4.14 src local actually.
i was doing some gdb of the sucker recently.
mircea_popescu: if someone did that
i'd certainly want to see what the maintainer does.
mircea_popescu:
i don't presume to read crypto implementations as if
i understand anything.
mircea_popescu:

i can see it. but it's 2013. we got powah.
mircea_popescu:
i'd really like to be enlightened as to what practical consideration recommends the use of elgamal still.
mod6: yeah.
i think that since elgamal is malleable, using the universal one-way hash to achieve the non-mallebility make cramer-shoup an interesting choice.
mircea_popescu:
i was discussing gpg/pgp/ssh keys/whatever else uses diffie-hellman
[\]:
I don't think it was supposed to be
mod6: or
i could just be derp
mod6: so think
i acutally coded myself around it. but now it should be a problem anymore.
mircea_popescu:
i orginally thought elgamal was the correct choice, but seems
i was wrong
mod6: [\\\]: ya, it might.
i know that bitcoinj does
mod6: it was another strange issue that
i ran into a week ago. some of these crypto libs are a bit lacking compared to say what gnupg can do out of the box.
mircea_popescu:
i think we're going to see a famine of good crypto products the coming decade.
mod6: in the mean time
i've been plowing ahead on the android tool. done well with that. gotten RSA clearsign/enc/dec working. so that felt great.
