MisterE: gonna go so low and I;m a buy them all
MisterE: I'm glad they failed like a cancer fallen off
Namworld: I could bounce the price back to 900 by closing the short.
MisterE: I'm all in fiat
kakobrekla: kraken: Hi Everyone - we are working on a major re-design for the site (no, I don't know when it will come out).
Duffer1_: i mean, why do people believe getting fiat out of Gox will be easier than getting BTC out of gox (thus causing the price of BTC to increase)
r3wt: ;;later tell Vexual i imported that private key. lets arrange a time to chat
r3wt: i'm still a nub and not familiar with all the commands
r3wt: if you see him, let him know i imported that key finally
pankkake: I signed the request with my gpg key for good measure, but…
ThickAsThieves: i do think auto-locking accounts is an odd move
ThickAsThieves: i suppose they would quite literally be amateurs, and we all know that already
ThickAsThieves: then i got mpex
ThickAsThieves: <nubbins`> i wonder are they going to keep the same setup for s.mg (run through a coinbr account) or if they have/will have a direct mpex account /// it already is
nubbins`: i wonder are they going to keep the same setup for s.mg (run through a coinbr account) or if they have/will have a direct mpex account
jurov: no i recall something about mp saying he can't do anything useful and safe with the bitcoins anyway
jurov: *i could
jurov: fortunately, before i can i pull my hair about it, it was canceled
mike_c: ah, i did not know that. well, it is accurate now at least. could be improved for usefulness. my interest was mostly looking for extended downtime stretches.
mike_c: ;;later tell mircea_popescu you were right, graph was clumping data points. here it is fixed: http://i.imgur.com/LgHsdOq.png
kakobrekla: i dont even notice since i disabled joins and quits
Bugpowder: oh i followed the chain... comes back to 1LNW...
Bugpowder: I am downloading the transaction history of that address
jborkl: davout, the person scanned for all transactions that uses op_pushdata, from what I understand that should be very limited to a certain problem being fixed- normally about 40 a day- it was 19 I think on Feb 7th and did not rise until the 10th
mircea_popescu: i'm off for now, but we continue this tomorro.
mircea_popescu: so then shouldn't i be seeing averaging ?
ThickAsThieves: namworld you lost me, i'll i'm saying is i bet if the right people spend the right amount of time looking at orders placed and filled, you'd see gox tzking everyone for a ride
Namworld: TaT, how would that help? I didn't say manipulate through fake orders. Just through haltings, bad news, etc.
mike_c: kk, disregard, i did some spot checking on downtimes but maybe not enough. i'll verify.
mike_c: yeah, seem nuts? i can check data.
mike_c: little blips of up/down time i guess.
ThickAsThieves: i bet it could be forensicly proven gox is manipulating
mike_c: MPOE market maker uptime since Jan 3: http://i.imgur.com/lwu9eMs.png
jborkl: and I read the report about the txn problems, someone did a blockchain analysis of the Push_whatever attack- the attack started 2 days after Gox got hit
ThickAsThieves: i assume gox committed every crime possible in regards to exploiting their system
Apocalyptic: but I may be wrong
Bugpowder: I think they lost 10k BTC tops
Bugpowder: but I guess the market thinks differently
Bugpowder: I just don't think its plausible for them to be that stupid
Bugpowder: yeah, that's all I saw too
Apocalyptic: so do I
ThickAsThieves: i recall linking charts for at least a week or two before
Bugpowder: I'm not implying
Bugpowder: The test where you are like... Hey my accounting says I need to pay out 100,000BTC from the wallet and oh hey we have been manually resending 100,000BTC in transactions... And oh hey people have been telling us for months that our specific implementation is vulnerable to a malleability attack... I wonder if something is funky
kakobrekla: davout i think he is trying to imply tux has one
Namworld: I mean if you sell it for actual, guaranteed BTC
Bugpowder: I have no account tho
Bugpowder: wish I had account.
kakobrekla: davout i was agreeing on you re internet sucks after i saw TwinWinNerDs line.
Apocalyptic: I saw a trade at 35%
Namworld: I still see people offering 40% at a minimum.
Namworld: The only thing I regret is moving funds out of MtGox before the issues.
ThickAsThieves: nope, but reddit says i can add it to my resume
kakobrekla: i dunno i just find the lappys funny on a protest
kakobrekla: i dunno whats with the middle guys face, the jacket cleary says "THE NORTH FACE"
jayk: with it being so low, once the exchanges resume, i wonder if people will cash out or just let it ride till it climbs back up
dignork: mircea_popescu: I read trilema, like your writing style and general mindset, it just doesn't mean I have to agree with everything you say
dignork: asciilifeform: pulled disk etc. This is a directed attack. I can imagine this picture, patyvans travels all over us,chaina,w/e and pull disks from all tor users. Srsly?
Apocalyptic: "<m7a> actually, I think right now the entire mtgox issue is pretty relevant to bitcoin as a whole"
davout: i'm out, this internet sux
mircea_popescu: i don't think anyone actually pulls disks anymore do they ?
mircea_popescu: Mallstromm i hope you're taking notes.
mircea_popescu: dignork i think the answer is contained in your question.
dignork: mircea_popescu: what's wrong with tor providing anonimity? I understand it's not absolute, but still better than nothing, and cheap.
mircea_popescu: may i live to forget it.
mircea_popescu: asciilifeform i guess I HAVE TO RECALL IT
mircea_popescu: i guess, but srsly...
nubbins`: i really wasn't paying attention
mircea_popescu: i dunno where this "closed bets as tumblr" thing started, but it's not so clever.
nubbins`: i was discussing closed ones :(
mircea_popescu: dignork i was discussing open bets.
nubbins`: i do say
mircea_popescu: i still don't get it.
mircea_popescu: i can use bitstamp's b
mircea_popescu: i can use YOUR b.
Mallstromm: I'm sure not logging on my personal POP3, non-SSL email account through Tor
mircea_popescu: nubbins` i'd tell you but i'm trying being polite ot the noobs.
nubbins`: maybe i'm just being obtuse, but i'm not sure where the confusion is here
mircea_popescu: get in the wot, come back in a year, i might care. probably i won't, but anywya.
mircea_popescu: Mallstromm may i point out that the firm guarantees of nobody are worth nothing ?
Mallstromm: dignork: I've used bitcoinfog many times. It works just fine. They've been in business for more than a year now. It's as safe as it gets. Just do not send hundreds of coins but a few dozens at a time
dignork: Mallstromm, I assume LE sniffing bitbet traffic
dignork: mircea_popescu: i do not mean script kiddie intercepting plaintext http traffic to bitbet, I mean trivial for law enforcement for example
Apocalyptic: i'm pretty sure they are selectively scamming
nubbins`: but i don't trust bitcoinfog
dignork: mircea_popescu: I don't care if it's called tumbler, the idea is that person A sends funds to person B in untraceable way. Placing bet over public channel is not so untraceable.
nubbins`: "i am the solvent"
mircea_popescu: i don't think you
dignork: mircea_popescu: yep, I meant onion addr, the point is to encrypt the traffic, not identity of the player
dignork: mircea_popescu: I meant it does not implement hidden service, or at least I couldn't find the interface
dignork: mircea_popescu, sorry I had to jump offline for a bit, back to the using bitbet as a tumbler, private bets do provide this function, but bitbet.us is not accessible over tor and does not work over https...
pLambert: nah, I dont like to bet on idiots
mircea_popescu: i tell you i dun see governor.
benkay: and i *like* the place.
benkay: i don't want it.
mircea_popescu: i think he may be trying for a job in the actual institutions
mircea_popescu: i wonder if this ends up in a coinlab-esque trial.
Bugpowder: I stopped the terrorists and created 2.5 million jobs with my bit license
ThickAsThieves: first one i've ever followed live
ThickAsThieves: i got .1 at 3169 weight, not great, but not bad
