Chaang-Noi: sorry.. dont mean to rub it in...
Chaang-Noi: jro taking the money and running? if only saw that coming...
mircea_popescu: maybe he's going to bed a gorgeous blonde.
Diablo-D3: Im going to bed
mircea_popescu: usagi you're prolly on solid ground to mark the respective lines as a complete loss in your book
DeaDTerra: In case of a JRO default I will post all relevent logs on the forums so you can see for yourself if not then, I am very happy that things could work out.
DeaDTerra: anyways, I think I am just going to stop talking about this xD, half of the time I remember incorectly and the other half I don't remember at all :P
DeaDTerra: he just needs time to raise capital, but then again why has he not responded to Nefario
DeaDTerra: i think hes planning on buying back
usagi: Ahh so the money is gone.
mircea_popescu: his debt with the zip etc you mean ?
DeaDTerra: To everyone who's affected: I'm incredibly embarassed, and I'm deeply sorry. I still have hope for the future. I can't be certain that it will work out for the best, but I'm going to continue to try until my last breath.
DeaDTerra: In the meantime, I've been working hard to make a real world retail digital currency exchange happen in San Francisco, which would be a prime customer of the ZipConf back end - i.e. multi market, unified orderbook and best price discovery, for the purpose of buying and selling bitcoin, with an eye toward providing other digital currencies (Linden Dollars, In game currencies) in the
DeaDTerra: I'm actively seeking the assistance of a few friends and past associates to raise the money needed to retire the BitcoinRebate debacle, and retire all GLBSE obligations. Since Alberto (Bit Day Trade) has no assets remaining, or intent to pay, I'm on the hook entirely to retire all GLBSE obligations. I accept this, and I will sell my good kidney (if need be) to make that happen.
DeaDTerra: to summarize, he explains the situation out of his eyes, what happened etc. Then he says he has been busy working on some other projects which I am not sure if I can mention and 20Misisons. To be able to settle his debt.
Diablo-D3: theres less than 20k shares to go for asicminer
DeaDTerra: hm that was probably the night I was up to 4am trying to fic this whole thing. Can't post this online unfortunatly, though if Nefario doesn't have it I should send it to him
DeaDTerra: Dude this is scary i remember reading this, but I can't remember when, I must have been so fuckign tired xD
EskimoBob: DeaDTerra: what did he tell you?
kakobrekla: DeaDTerra and the msg is?
mircea_popescu: seems more like a free to play mmo.
DeaDTerra: hm, why has this not been posted online. And does Nefario have this hmm
EskimoBob: mircea_popescu: was that a surprise to you?
EskimoBob: any news from nefario? When will he fix the exchange?
usagi: Well I am not connected to this really
usagi: Well that's life
mircea_popescu: it still won't fix the company. so you get a car. big deal. you weren't into this to get a car.
usagi: and we take his car
mircea_popescu: usagi : point is, so you go after them. so ?
usagi: I guarantee you I would go after someone that did that to me if they signed a contract like that
usagi: be entered thereon.
usagi: with the judge.me arbitration agreement. The arbitrator's
usagi: contract, or the breach of this contract, shall be settled
usagi: 1. Any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to this
usagi: check this one out http://www.tsukino.ca/cpa/customers/account-16/
DeaDTerra: Though first I want Nefario to call him repeated times, so it's obvious he's not planning on taking responsibility
usagi: Oh yes they do
DeaDTerra: If JRO doesn't respond soon then I will go through all skype convo I have ever been in with him and release all the relevant info
mircea_popescu: that doesn't look too good ?
mircea_popescu: You tried to access the address http://kronos.io/, which is currently unavailable.
mircea_popescu: Could not connect to remote server
mircea_popescu: usagi just saying, if people have a falling out contracts don't help at this level.
paladon: in about 2,5 hours dividend is paid. Still some shares to sell https://glbse.com/asset/view/PGM
mircea_popescu: they're like marriage contracts. start-ups work when the people are having not sex-sex, but start-up sex.
usagi: I hope you have learned to do the same from now on, DT :)
DeaDTerra: Now the question is wheres the rest of the money from the IPO
DeaDTerra: JRO planned to help Alberto develop it and he planned to make sure it was profitable and went sucessful. But after the IPO he and alberto had a conflict and JRO dissapread for a long time. A couple of weeks in fact. Then he comes back he has moved on to 20Misisons and Kronos, and now avoids Rebate etc. So I think he originally planned to run it but hen jumped off after the fight with
DeaDTerra: Tbh this is how I think the whole rebate thing went down
DeaDTerra: nvm I am going to stop name dropping it was months ago, I can't remember
DeaDTerra: I might be wrong xD this is all from my memory, let me check the skype log
DeaDTerra: Well having that said it's not like I had a tin foil hat on me saying he's going to do this and this because he said so. I questioned him and tried to get him on the correct path several times.
mircea_popescu: Vladimir Alexandrovich Marchenko, the physicist ?!
DeaDTerra: Vlad worked on kronos, and I think he was on the development team
mircea_popescu: and this misplaced loyalty creating a fog around things is very detrimental to business and the btc.
mircea_popescu: DeaDTerra that's exactly how people get burned.
DeaDTerra: Yes it was stupid to believe him, but he's very convincing plus when you have a lot at stake your brain wants to believe whats being promised.
mircea_popescu: usagi many of hte better services were in fact a single man endeavour or close thereby, like say bitcoincharts.
DeaDTerra: Eric, vlad, alberto is those I know of that has worked on his projects.
usagi: I don't see the need for a team
usagi: If you have a team you are probably incompetent hehe
mircea_popescu: everyone has a team.
mircea_popescu: "his development team". sigh. there's not five developers half competent into bitcoin atm, what "team" ?
DeaDTerra: I have tried to get contact with him, as he plans to run Bitcoin related projects in the future. It will not work out unless he cleans this mess up
DeaDTerra: since then I have been pushing for a wrap up/buy back of this whole thing but as he's very very slow at getting back if he gets back to you at all that is, it's very hard to negotiate.
usagi: JRO will not be very happy if his info gets posted on the bitcoin credit agency
EskimoBob: did I say I'll write the code?
DeaDTerra: He said that he has investors coming into 20Missions and that he would set his development team on fixing the project. I believed him for the first couple of weeks.
usagi: I have a way of knowing such things.
mircea_popescu: why'd you buy him time ?
DeaDTerra: I am quite pissed at JRO, as he promised me that he would fix this, all of this. Both ZIP.A and Rebate were to be paid back or the service were to go up and start generating profit. So I bought him time and what does he give me, more silence and bullshit. sigh...
EskimoBob: DeaDTerra: if the code is worth anything and you guys wan someone else to finish it up, I can probably help (I am not a programmer) to get it cleaned up
mircea_popescu: 2. everyone's involvement is unclear especialyl as to limits till the point something goes wrong.
mircea_popescu: 1. everyone is friends with everyone, covers up for people, then we end up shakaru'd.
mircea_popescu: i think it's maybe time this soupy chummyness comes to an end.
DeaDTerra: I had nothing to do with the development team
mircea_popescu: lmao the forums are such a lulzy goldmine.
EskimoBob: DeaDTerra: to you know what language they used to write ZipConf?
mircea_popescu: did tradehill pay out everyone in the end ?
mircea_popescu: well srsly, if this guy is short like 5k btc = 50k usd and jared kenna contributed about the same that'd be all their working capital involed there.
DeaDTerra: That's why I don't think he will make a run or something silly like that.
DeaDTerra: it's his new Project that he has been spending time on instead of cleaning up Rebate and ZipConf.
mircea_popescu: http://www.thebitcointrader.com/2012/05/bitcoins-hogwarts-san-francisco-tech.html this would be related maybe ?
DeaDTerra: Some say he's currently sick, I don't know I just want this solved and get back my BTC
DeaDTerra: when rebate couldn't show the results the shareholders wanted I pushed for a buy back and as JRO didn't respond and I haven't talked to him in a week Nefario decided to shut down the accounts, to investigate what was going on.
mircea_popescu: this on the other hand sounds extremely shakaru-esque.
DeaDTerra: JRO is moving on to other projects and is becoming hard to communcate with.
mircea_popescu: "From what I've learned, those around him (not going to drop names here) have been covering for him for some time. To resolve a situation requires at the least basic communication, of which we've not seen for months."
mircea_popescu: something like that ?
mircea_popescu: DeaDTerra so then as conjecture, the problem they were trying to solve solved them, people got disheatened, took a nervous break-down, will in principle be back to unwind soonish
DeaDTerra: My opinion is to reach a deal with JRO of a slow payback to the investors.
DeaDTerra: Rebate is up and running but is not as profitable as it needs to be and I doubt it will be as profitable, as long as it's not integrated to ZipConf and it doesn't have a proper development team behind it.
DeaDTerra: ZipConf has a major flaw/bug in the system, it's unknown when or if it will ever be fixed, JRO has said that it might not be able to be launched publically but it can instead run as a network with only trusted parties on it. Note that I am parafrasing
Diablo-D3: DeaDTerra: how close are they to their goal?
DeaDTerra: <mircea_popescu> DeaDTerra what do you know about the entire ownes/zip thing ? In what sense what do I know?, I know most things about it.
DeaDTerra: let me read the log
mircea_popescu: what the fuck.
mircea_popescu: dude, it boggles. "i had an asset made in my name on my website and then i got like 1k btc of i dunno how many raised cause i didn't care and nao i shall give people whatever i have left ty all for being pros"
mircea_popescu: ok, this is possibly the most unprofessional thing i ever read in my life. WHAT ?!
Diablo-D3: DeaDTerra: are they close to being done?
mircea_popescu: i'm asking because "Hello, I am sorry that there has been no official thread so far JRO the owner of Rebate has not had time to post one as he has a lot to do with other projects, Kronor etc."
