mircea_popescu: ;;later tell mike_c the idea being that paid bombs will likely be a constant thing, with most games prolly over 90ish paid bombs, and both these will encourage a little bridging (ie, say it's .9 for the pool. now there's incentive for an extra .1). also #1 will give the losing side in the bomb pool tugwar a sneaky way to disrupt the winning bomb (by donating against their actual interest, to make it sum up to a differe
mircea_popescu: ;;later tell mike_c here's an idea : 1) if the bomb total pool goes over 1 btc, the first five digits past the decimal are used as a bomb location; and 2) if the bomb pool is over 5% of the total shares pool, the bomb is guaranteed to be big.

punkman: mircea_popescu: turns out I fucked up some math there, expected gain on pending bets is around 40%

asciilifeform: mircea_popescu: the famous 'itanic' used an approach called 'vliw' - 'very long instruction word' - where the compiler was expected to fill up the pipeline manually, avoiding 'hazards' (instructions fighting over a resource, e.g. register or memory)
mircea_popescu: ;;later tell punkman: mike_c would be nice if WoL could track bets on GoWs, since I already have an account for the minigame << actually, it'd be prolly good to have a YOU: summary on either side of GoW as long as the person is actually logged in. in case they bought multiple bids etc.
hanbot: ;;later tell mike_c hey "There is an infinitesimal chance none of the numbers will be < 1,000,000. BayAreaCoins: mircea_popescu Ok, I'll read into it and get it taken care of.
BayAreaCoins: mircea_popescu ya I'll get on that this week. I have a Thompson 1927-A1 coming in next week I can probably get listed and sold ASAP.
benkay: mircea_popescu: of course it *can*. *does*, though.
BayAreaCoins: No breaks please. Bust my balls with full force. It is all good. mircea_popescu. Decimation I think there are a number of places that middle class americans already exchange BTC. I'm also not 100% convinced that is why I'm interested in what you guys have to say.
mircea_popescu: mike_c agreed.
BayAreaCoins: mike_c I grew up on Battle.net (Blizzard Entertainment games) and I've always hung around successful people... so I don't mind getting my balls busted. It is good for me
BayAreaCoins: mircea_popescu I mean I ship my guns using FFL's and require permits to transfer snails across state lines :)
BayAreaCoins: mike_c Which stake are you talking about though, I generally have a number of them poking me :P

BayAreaCoins: mircea_popescu I've already contacted a few firms and they of course want to be involved for the same reason as any other law firms wants to be involved with anything.. Money. I think that group B would want to privately be involved with group A because it is better than having some FEDs come grab your lap top while you are reading in the Sci-Fi section

BayAreaCoins: mircea_popescu No inventor and no employees that is always a plus. It'll be interesting needless to say. Our ebay lister is stacked with 24,000 items, but getting ebay to up our limits is a bit of a pain in the ass.
BayAreaCoins: mircea_popescu I never go into anything expecting to fail, but if I do that is why I have the LLC up :P
BayAreaCoins: mike_c not yet, still working on the code. Drop shipping Amazon from Ebay to start out with. Domain is locked down and I submitted articles of organization last night.
BayAreaCoins: mircea_popescu at a automated drop shipping company? Yes it is
BayAreaCoins: mike_c No need for warehouses or partnerships to start out with. Basically what the company is going to do is relist items with a very small price bump and automate everything. We have been testing with 200 items for the past little bit and are seeing a good chunk of volume moving. I guess my main concern is that the shippers do their job because refunds are going to be a total and complete pain in the ass.
BayAreaCoins: mircea_popescu haha hell ya
BayAreaCoins: mircea_popescu ah very nice. I think if I was going to live in South America I'd be looking at Belize (ambergris caye.) Any reason why you chose Argentina over the other countries?
BayAreaCoins: mike_c A automated drop shipping company and then a alt that I think is semi interesting (Huntercoin)
