smickles: earlier,
the close was marked at 10.11897
smickles: my settlement numbers just changed
today
jurov: i
think if btcusd goes above 13, someone will make a dump again
jurov: lol,playing satoshidice is easier
than
to guess
this
thestringpuller: i might recover my mpoe losses if it continues
to increase
smickles: thestringpuller: you say we may do
this when you get home from work? what
time is
that?
smickles: jurov:
thanks for
the info. We'll see what
the puller wants
to do

smickles: thestringpuller: i'm sure i could borrow a few btc
to cover it while we wait for
the deposit
to go
thru
thestringpuller: lemme move some cash around after work i dont
think wav is gonna hit past 11
tonight
smickles: any more
than
that and we'd need
to work a deposit
thru
smickles: but I don't have
too many of
those
smickles: and you could also use options
that I have surety for if you like
their strikes
smickles: I have a little over 9 btc free in
the account now,
smickles: you want
to sell o.btcusd.p120t where
the breakeven is a spot of 14 usd?
smickles: if you
think it's going over 14 soon, buy
the call i'm selling
smickles: thestringpuller: my bad joke aside, did you really mean
those 3 blank lines as some kind of significant communication?
smickles: with a volume of 3 contracts
to be sold out
smickles: the orderbook is down
to 9.5 best bid
jurov: if
they have problems
to find orders... and
they didn't even close yet
jurov: smickles, i'd suggest
to sell
that account
to someone and forget icbit
jurov: okay, let it be mokeys with
typewriters
jurov: like, wtf?
they're using monkeys with excel for database?
smickles: essentially, "thanks for playing, good luck next
time"
smickles: what i posted here was
the last communication I've had from
them
jurov: so
they did not figure out
to
this moment whether you did place an order or not?
smickles: but if
they are completly legit, and
this was just some aweful error, and btc is anything above 10.6 at settlement, it ends well for me
smickles: jurov: well, i'm in a bit of a pickle, 'cause i can't get my btc off of
there without
taking such a huge loss on
the contracts
that I may as well just keep it
there
jurov: what if he has
the key only in memory?
Diablo-D3: some people just want
to watch
the world lulz.
Diablo-D3: [03:02:52] <smickles> Diablo-D3: so your imaginary would-be-murderer's plan is
to kill him in his sleep and what? steal an encrypted private key?
smickles: potentially would've nearly doubled my btc
there :(
jurov: smickles, really, if he hasn't any evidence
that you
tried
to place an order,
that is inexcusable

smickles: but it would've been nice
to have my 50 btc woth of BUZ2 quoted at 10.01 right now
smickles: yeah, i'm not actually sure what
to make of it all anyway
jurov: as
the saying goes, don't assume malice in something
that can be explained by incompetence
kakobrekla: it makes little sense
to scam like
that while he runs deepbit
jurov: and if such is
true
that is criminal negligence
smickles: heh, kakobrekla, well,
the cynical me
took it as "heh, well, keep
trying, we'll keep
taking your btc"
smickles: In responce

smickles: Ok, please use
the service as usual, however if you notice problems again - let me know, and
then we will
try
to investigate it
thoroughly.
smickles: Hm, we did not get any more such reports. Sometimes a problem with updating data happens, but it's
the first
time I hear about "updating is good, but order placement does not work".
smickles: Diablo-D3: so your imaginary would-be-murderer's plan is
to kill him in his sleep and what? steal an encrypted private key?
Diablo-D3: dude, everyone was an assassin in
the revolution
smickles: Diablo-D3: well, i dunno, i had heard rumors
that he was an assasian in
the revolution
smickles: Although I like mpex, and
think it is worthwhile,
the implied valuation of it boggles my mind
smickles: it's being rolled out
to my larger clients first
smickles: heh,
thestringpuller if we do an otc option,
then I can give you a 0.2% discount :)
smickles: the
that's how much you have with me
smickles: thestringpuller: yeah, it would be off
the mpex books
tho
BTCHero: funny
thing is, he paid me more
than I originally gave him before he quit paying
smickles: i'll post
the link if you want
smickles: thestringpuller: on
the options? I've listed
them on mpex
smickles: < BTCHero> harnett made an announcement? << well, you don't need
to make an announcement
to default, you just need
to not fullfill a contract
smickles: most of my positions are entered into at
the beginning of
the month
pigeons: actually mircea_popescu predicted
that harnett would not default, so mircea deposited coins with patrick. mircea was wrong, patrick did default, and mircea did not get
the coins harnett owed him
smickles: *that's 'World of
Tanks' btw ;)
smickles: did 'the girl' point out
that post
to bitcoininv who claimed
to rely on
the forum for reputation and shun
the WoT?
mircea_popescu: Use your brain and
third-party reputation services
to determine who
to
trust. Do not rely on
the forum itself.
The forum staff doesn't spend much
time on scam accusations, so
the forum does a very poor job of keeping up with scammers. A for-profit company should deal with
this stuff. Or at least a non-profit organization of people who are actually interested in spending a lot of
time
to fight scams (unlike me).
smickles: heh, it sounded like a good point as i read it, it was jut very humorous
too :)

that srgexpert site, and
the very
top of
the page is a line of
text
that says "FAIL..."
jurov: whole
thing is ridiculous
smickles: they have 'otc reputation: xxx' next

mircea_popescu: smickles aren't you sorry you didn't buy all
those btc at 10.02 nao :p
