mircea_popescu: im not entirely sure what'd appease them. maybe one of those go-pro cams attached to an employee's head
Korbman: BFL pulled the same empty case stunt, and I don't really care that it's empty to begin with. It's just there to try and appease some of the people looking for pics
mircea_popescu: maybe it's just the cover
Korbman: the case doesn't seem to have a backing
Korbman: but look at how the light reflects in on the furthest fan as well
jcpham: i bet a pre-order one in the next round
jurov: at least why there is so much light? looks like whole rear side isn't there
Diablo-D3: that could be the spot for a psu
Diablo-D3: jurov: btw, that might not be empty
Diablo-D3: well, it depends how well packed they make that
kakobrekla: if micon is in the wiki, fab process will be too.
Diablo-D3: wikipedia has an entire article on the fab process
Diablo-D3: I didnt know this
Korbman: don't thank me, thank google haha
Diablo-D3: I thought you meant an empty fan slot
Diablo-D3: oh, is that what you ment?
jurov: okay, now calibrate youe eyes and try to look between its blades
Diablo-D3: I can see all three fans clearly
jurov: lol, when looking closely on the rightmost fan on http://launch.avalon-asics.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/DSC00517.jpg
Diablo-D3: probably one of a thousand clones
Diablo-D3: went from 10 in 71 to 3 in 75
Diablo-D3: there seems to be no size of 4.
mircea_popescu: a hey. hattip to Korbman
Diablo-D3: which means orginal z80s and 6502s and whatnot would have been that size
jurov: so, asics scams may burst the upcoming bubble
mircea_popescu: i wonder if bfl next step, after tackling the android miner market, is to make z80 miner software.
Diablo-D3: mircea_popescu: btw, I think they still make 6502s too
mircea_popescu: anyway, this was like 1988 and shit, not the early zilogs
mircea_popescu: well at least that's what thye claimed
Diablo-D3: its a 8080 clone with 8086ish features tacked on
Diablo-D3: 400nm seems too high
Korbman: 4000nm I think
Diablo-D3: 110nm is too low for original ones though
mircea_popescu: back in the late 80s
mircea_popescu: that box actually looks like the custom power unit i had for my old z80
Korbman: Ha, for the sake of argument let's pretend everyone ships
Korbman: I suppose that's the result of 110nm processes
jurov: also, one would say for 1.5k they'll find a better case than this: http://launch.avalon-asics.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/DSC00517-1024x680.jpg
mircea_popescu: this is a deliberate attempt to drive people nuts.
jurov: not even tracking numbers available
Korbman: Not yet...I figured people would start getting them next week, though it depends on how they shipped
pigeons: Now I withdrew from mtgox a long time ago \ Don't you see how late they're reactin' \ They only come and they come when they wanna

mircea_popescu: smickles https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=137923.0 there, that may be it.
mircea_popescu: then calls sold as the drop happened and puts covered/going long
mircea_popescu: days/week before the drop
smickles: what was the final precursor last time? a bunch of puts bought, calls sold?
smickles: but i bring it up because that was a bad news event on a significant (relatively) quick rise
smickles: a bunch of the 'technicals' are different tho
mircea_popescu: well i guess we have bfl as a potential... tho i doubt they'll announce anything.
mircea_popescu: was that mid rally ?
smickles: it's close to an identical rise on the chart too
mircea_popescu: smickles what was that ?
smickles: the last time this happened, there was some horrible news brewing that crashed the rally
jcpham: 24 hour gox volume seems to hold from day to day too

turbo_ac100: kakobrekla, thanks a lot!
kakobrekla: ill add it to to-do then turbo_ac100
turbo_ac100: Well, where I normally read news is RSS and to a lesser degree twitter. So for me it would add one extra source of news inlet.
kakobrekla: would you use that?
kakobrekla: and thanks
turbo_ac100: right now I use page2rss for the feed.
kakobrekla: im the developer of it yeah also
kakobrekla: turbo_ac100, me and mircea_popescu are the owners, in case you missed you can buy shares of it and stuff http://mpex.co/?mpsic=S.BBET
turbo_ac100: anyway I really like bbet. and more so than betsofbitco.in ;)
kakobrekla: no rss feed at the moment
turbo_ac100: hi there. Is there a RSS feed for bbet?
Korbman: seems to be pretty on par so far
assbot: The vision of Christ that thou dost see ... is my vision's greatest enemy.

mircea_popescu: midnightmagic because i'm the sort of idiot who tries to build people and institutions.
mircea_popescu: anyway, i'm off to bed. laters all.
midnightmagic: mircea_popescu: Why was there even a "suit"? Why couldn't you just settle prior to the case and give him back his money?
dub: welcome to justice
mircea_popescu: well if passive = losing then you have an extraction engine going
mircea_popescu: passive party can never be held to pay more than it received.
midnightmagic: dub: That's pretty much it.
dub: well yeah teh judges can game it
mircea_popescu: dub passive party pays more than it receives.
dub: explain again how they get more than they put in?
mircea_popescu: that doesn't change the fact that if i let things stand i can wake up tomorrow to 5000 fresh cases.
mircea_popescu: im pretty sure there wasn't, in this case.
midnightmagic: mircea_popescu: Awww.. :-( So what makes you think there was collaboration going on?
mircea_popescu: Namworld https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=81939.0 that sort of stuff.
Namworld: I'll assume MtGox did that too considering the context
Namworld: or MtGox did that too?
Namworld: IDs? The giga.etf thing?
mircea_popescu: well... there's limits to being an idiot. it's actually much cheaper to be mtgox.
mircea_popescu: they piss on the public and guess what ? i'm the one idiot discussing it, so im the only idiot getting it in the teeth.
mircea_popescu: dudes rewrite contracts to include ids and whatnot,
mircea_popescu: i'd have liked it too, but it's just not practical. mtgox keeps people's money fgor months/takes whatever out of it/etc,
Namworld: We're pretty much done for today @ BitVPS
Namworld: I'll have to find something else to spend my idle time.
Namworld: I like discussing such things tho
mircea_popescu: i'm really not open to publicly discussing mpex policies anymore. they are what they are and that's that.
Namworld: It seems to me misplaced/mis-sent funds would apply.
Namworld: But the fact the usual can hardly not be legally enforced is no reason to not try to apply them. So long as the legislation in question makes sense.
mircea_popescu: but yes, this IS horrible news for bitcoin in general.
mircea_popescu: myeah. absent the possibility of a legal system it'll be interesting how that'll work.
Namworld: Irreversible? Maybe. Technically if someone hands you six 20 bills instead of 5 for a 100 payment, it's also irreversible if the other person doesn't hand it over. Both would require forcing the other party to give it back.
