Scrat: if you go with the trifecta (node/mongo/redis) YC will refuse NOT to accept you
pigeons: you're allowed to use Go now if you don't want to use rails
pigeons: you have to use mongodb to be picked up by ycombinator
Scrat: this is a textbook example of 2 multistatement queries arriving at the same time on a database that can't do transactional locking
Scrat: are they for fucking real
Scrat: lol, they're using mongodb
[\\\]: what you do with shares has nothing to do with company 'value'
ThickAsThieves: i still have room to arb low-cost shares
[\\\]: the more risky something is, generally the less valuable it is due ot the negative EV
ThickAsThieves: you are jumping from me saying somehting has more value you than you think, to saying i think it has no risk

[\\\]: they're gonna have to do a bunch of R&D
[\\\]: Yes, they'll sell hardware but its an older tech
[\\\]: I think .5 is very optimistic
ThickAsThieves: yes, all things considered
[\\\]: while withholding dividends to buy more
[\\\]: meanwhile difficulty continues to go up and they continue to roll ou the original batch

[\\\]: considering they paid out the IPO price already
[\\\]: hardware that is
[\\\]: I do find it interesting how they swung from "We're gonna sell" at the beginning to "We're not gonna sell" in the middle to "We're gonna sell"

mircea_popescu: and to think the entire kraken bs was born out of mpoe-pr's early pirate mockery.
pigeons: i think that one deserves the mpoe-pr link to the how to start a biz post
Scrat: because it is something that you release often
kakobrekla: why is that name so popular

thestrin1puller: Bugpowder: the bondholders want their money back
cole_albon: a couple of months ago I fat fingered an entry to buy s.dice when i meant to buy mpoe. with the huge spreads, I couldn't justify fixing my mistake immediately. I still regret that decision daily.
mircea_popescu: as long as there's X btc in circulation, cX will need to be hedged one way or another.
mircea_popescu: cole_albon seems improbable. mpoe does btc hedging, that need scales with btc and has little to do with anyone's paycheck.
cole_albon: Does everything on mpex end up being a bitcoin denominated hedge against the price of bitcoin going up?
cole_albon: looking for how to turn off spell checker...
cole_albon: bit hub - I suspect s.dice revenue is x% of someone's fiat based paycheck. If the price of bitcoin skyrockets, then then number of btc going to s.dice goes down. Same thing with mope I suspect.
