parseval: Yeah, true.
ThickAsThieves: it would be even better if there was good ltc stock that was actually denominated inltc
parseval: The lower price of LTC compared to the fractional ownership of Asicminer would be a good match, pricewise.. Plus, there are not a lot of LTC assets that I really like
parseval: It would be interesting to have another worthwhile stock to put LTC into. I have a couple of work machines slowly crunching out LTC for me

ThickAsThieves: yeah but you cant sneak that onto an airplane
asciilifeform: ThickAsThieves: plastic single-shot zip gun. ho-hum. steel pipes from the hardware store, one inside another, an end cap plus a nail, still work better.

KRS-1: you are right about the boiling pot thing..folks probably need to make the investment and forget about it..the day traders are the ones with all the effort
mircea_popescu: i suspect entirely too much energy is dedicated to watching the pot boil.
KRS-1: i think there are other patterns but i also may be wrong, im still learning quite a bit
KRS-1: from what i learned markets can boom and tulip..or bouncing cat rising then coming up lower each time to a low low...then somehow reinvestment kindles another boom and then market price settles..this is from what i understand the evolution pattern an investment takes if it doesnt die
Jambo__: KRS, why you think nothingness?

Namworld: What's with the "you will be bankrupt" comment... arf
ezdiy: favourite tunneling technique of capital markets
ezdiy: another favourite scam is to issue new shares, under new company which asset strips the old one
Tritonio: I thought the idea of the 40% reinvestement was to avoid issuing more shares if not needed..
ezdiy: Tritonio: in that case it equals to non-voting class of shares
Tritonio: Namworld, the second case is btc-mining's case?
Namworld: Or a preset issued amount, like x million total. Issuer can sell any portion he wants. That's usually for pre-established businesses that don't need to fund acquisitions or whatever.
Tritonio: Namworld, that's my understanding too. The shared already existed in this case and were held by the issuer/operator and he sold more of them in the second pass. I suppose this also means that the operator was getting a bigger portion of the profits of the company before the second pass.
Namworld: IDK, usually it's either ask for issuing more shares (like mining companies to buy more stuff)
Tritonio: So if the operator is the one with the right to issue more shares, he could issue them without asking, and possibly decide to keep them all to himself if the contract doesn't prohibit that. Of course he would fuck up the company and everyone would probably sell their shares and leave but I mean if the contract doesn't stop him, he would be basically running away with the shareholders' money.
