topace_: mircea_popescu: thanks
thestringpuller: It was sarcasm foo. When you make sound effects in a game you either make foley or synth that shit. Given you AREN'T paying for studio sound I don't see how foley artists would even begin to do their job. So I assume the latter. Or perhaps you're going to buy a pack of prepackaged sound clips.
mircea_popescu: one needs a particular sort of retard hat to go from here's an ogg to there won't be sound.
mircea_popescu: okay that's good enough.
thestringpuller: (for an MMO that is)
thestringpuller: fitting since it's more appealing to just turn off the sound of the game and blast vampire weekend
thestringpuller: so there won't be any sound?
mircea_popescu: thestringpuller im not concerned with any of that nonsense and poppycock. i'm making a game.
mircea_popescu: that threa'ds pretty lulzy
thestringpuller: and most foley artists you know, come with a studio most of the time since they have a mini-one in their home...
thestringpuller: The foley artists kinda need a studio for sound effects unless you're going to use chiptunes...
thestringpuller: "yeah. i'm not springing for studio time."
thestringpuller: what exactly is the threshold between "what I will spend/what I won't spend"
mircea_popescu: "According to the Daily Treasury Statement for July 12, which the U.S. Treasury released this afternoon, the federal debt that is currently subject to a legal limit of $16,699,421,095,673.60 has stood at exactly $16,699,396,000,000.00 for 56 straight days. "
Rulother: what do you guys think cog will peak at?
Rulother: I guess I'll send money over to havelock now
thestringpuller: go the route of banjo kazooie
ThickAsThieves: or sending equipment around the world
ThickAsThieves: but this means having people come to you
ThickAsThieves: not too expensive to set something decent up
mircea_popescu: yeah. i'm not springing for studio time.
ThickAsThieves: it's cute, but the actual recording needs work
mircea_popescu: ThickAsThieves so what did you think ?
mircea_popescu: it does till you try it.
ThickAsThieves: i thought chrome supported ogg?
mircea_popescu: nothing is left to chance!
ThickAsThieves: i can't play the ogg :(

ThickAsThieves: like TAT.AM can't be exported
ThickAsThieves: of course people may be using other factors too
pankkake: interesting - I di dn't factor it that way but it turns out I'm already doing it right :p
ThickAsThieves: if you are trying to get as many AM for as long as possible, the whole-shares are usually the best bet
Rulother: O I really don't and I think it's reasonable either way
ThickAsThieves: and thus should not factor the mgmt fee much
ThickAsThieves: so that shows you are a trader
Rulother: I do try to get in for divs on Wednesday, but its a gamble for when people sell off their shares and drop the price of am
ThickAsThieves: generally I think people treat the 5% mgmt fee too strongly
mjr_: makes it hard to calc
ThickAsThieves: well AM divs vary, and only have like 5mos of history, and future share price is pretty hard to predict
Rulother: True, but for someone like whose buying and selling them over and over again everyday, Divs are not a big deal
mjr_: isn't it a NPV calculation ThickAsThieves
ThickAsThieves: and run the projected div fees
ThickAsThieves: I'm just saying it's worth thinking about how long you plan to hold the stock, to help determine which one to buy
Rulother: I was just saying there was a big difference in the price for TAT vs pt, when I said that, TAT was 4.17 and pt was 4.42
Rulother: Right right and I got that
ThickAsThieves: if the dividend is .02 per week for 2 months
ThickAsThieves: the math doesn't work like that
ThickAsThieves: the 5% of dividend mgmt fee should not be thought of as a 5% less valuable stock outright
Rulother: It just comes down to the demand
Rulother: yes yes but sometimes it's a bit more than 5%
ThickAsThieves: [09:29] <pankkake> Rulother: actually on btct it's not that lower if you account for the 5% fee on dividends <<< Yes, but note that 5% of dividends is something much different than 5% of price
Rulother: Well I guess it's a good thing I convinced myself I was just throwing away money when I made my purchase lol

ozbot: Soon - WoWWiki - Your guide to the World of Warcraft
Vbs: mircea_popescu: "soon" is already trademarked, dunno how they expect to get away using it carelessly like that
mjr_: imagine if that happened at a restaurant every morning lol

mjr_: I really wish I had a business where everyone clapped every time I opened for business
mjr_: so, the opening bell is about to ring...
mjr_: i thought we were at 223TH
pankkake: Rulother: actually on btct it's not that lower if you account for the 5% fee on dividends
mjr_: isn't the current hash rate like 223,000 GH?
mircea_popescu: not the same people obviously.
mircea_popescu: i have logs from like septemer saying the same thing
mjr_: what is TAT vs PT?
mircea_popescu: <Vbs> "Our hashrate after the BFL units are delivered (soon): 573 gh/s" <<< epic.
pankkake: makes me want to sell the PTs for TATs… though my objective was the reverse
Rulother: Damn why is the tat-am so much lower than the am-pt :|
