bgupta: These new IPOs are all late to the party.. the mining war is in full force… it's gonna get ugly.
Namworld: 2000 per TH
bobbabad: you dont think $2 per GH has appeal (if you were to belive in it)
Namworld: It doesn't have half the appeal ASICMINER had. And ASICMINER was one heck of a lucky shot for everyone who had some of that.
bgupta: dreaming of these whatifs are making people make bad investing decisions today.
Namworld: I didn't have coins there. Well so I thought. But apparently I had indirect exposure left and right.
bobbabad: hey guys, don't cry over spilled milk... you still got a chance to be a bitcoin millionare... all-in for labcoin is all I got to say
Namworld: I could have had thousands more if I put everything in it, eheh.
Namworld: If I'd put all my money in it. I had thousands I sold back a bit over 0.10 and 696 I sold at 0.4
Namworld: Pretty much the same here. I should have gone all in. I'd be millionaire. Multiple times.
dub: just the tip
bobbabad: did you actually get in on the IPO?
bobbabad: imagine dub you would have gotten that puppy when you were supposed to.. you would be rich son
gribble: Next difficulty estimate | None based on data since last change | 57392504.6501 based on data for last three days
bgupta: so how long did you wait for that?
dub: were, this is the asic
dub: spent sunday making a nice little mining space in the attic, the single is looking lonely
dub: I'll jump in when the price is right too
bgupta: AM hardware prices will soon be getting to the point I might actually buy some USB sticks for gifts and/or novelty factor.
dub: granted it is in my interest that they have not already run away
bgupta: Yes seems they have been pricing there hardware at the point to maximize revenue.. and oddly people have been buying since they have consistently been the only provider than can ship without a huge delay.
dub: im not sure how you take that away
bgupta: dub: Yes.. pretty much all mining assets at this point carry great risk, including ASICMINER. However, looking over the assets trading on the exchanges, AM appears to be the only one where the shareholders' interests are almost completely aligned with management's.
dub: other than the farm obv
dub: i havn't looked in detail but I'd be surprised if any AM hardware in the wild will actually make money
dub: they let the the infected set the price
dub: to date AM have been open about pricing in the asic fever
bobbabad: it would not be out of the question for them to compete at reatil with HashFast, KNC at around 15 bucks per GH to costumer
bobbabad: the big question is... the block eruptor blade from AM will set you back $84 per GH in hardware, retail... Labcoin hope their chip will be $2-3 per GH in manufacture cost.. now Im sure ASIC miner has insane profit margins, since theyre the only ones with a track record of shipping.. but still, if labcoin can produce even close to what they project
dub: bgupta: scam is probably a stretch yes, I think its important that people understand that buying in now carries significant risk
Ogedei_: interesting that they only raised 400k$, while btcgarden wanted to raise 3.2million?
Namworld: 0.46 at a high price per BTC compared to IPO prices
bgupta: sadly I was not one of them
bgupta: yeah.. I have a feeling that there were people who did that.
bgupta: what was btc at when they IPOed?
bobbabad: I wonder where they would have been if they rather then paying out such large amount in dividens every week used more agressivly to expand the companies growth after the inital IPO was paid back in div
Ogedei_: 0.5ish btc per share i think
bgupta: Almost all other mining assets seem to pit the interests of the issuers against those of the shareholders.
bobbabad: whats the total paid out in div from AM since IPO?
afrotec: while not a scam at it's inception, or even today, something unknown event could cause those runnung the company to act in a manner contrary to their public perception
bgupta: err meant to say "paid out a lot more divs than they have collected from IPO"
afrotec: things do change though
bgupta: but just saying, scam is unlikely at this point.)
bgupta: Dub: ASICMINER could disappear tomorrow, but if they were a scam, why would they keep it going this long? They have paid out a lot of divs compared to what they have collected, if they were gonna bail it would have been way more profitable to do so months ago. To me AM seems the one mining asset where the interests of management are aligned with those of shareholders. (That doesn't mean they are a good investm
bobbabad: if we only could get some fucking good news from labcoin... my gut feeling tells me they will fail to deliver on their promises though
dub: but they have delivered more than an awful lot of words (activeminer) and the suggestion that reputable people are involved (labcoin)
dub: the fact that they refuse to create more of a footprint than a forum account suggests they are leaving themselves that option
dub: they could vanish without a trace tomorrow as well
Namworld: ASICMINER could probably roll out a next gen ASIC miner in the time it would take for the others out there to realize they won't have their stuff ready until 2 years later. That is, if they weren't scams.
dub: I said noting of the sort
bobbabad: well you just said that it was better to invest in them compared to the pipe dreams out there?
Ogedei_: also labcoin is based in HK wich is prolly a good thing aswell
bobbabad: Im not sure they fully know what theyre doing, but I dont think labcoin is a scam
Ogedei_: prolly a good thing now though, with these extortions etc
bobbabad: the guys names, photos of them, adress, etc.. still dont even know friedcasts name
Ogedei_: yeah labcoin seems the least "scammy" but dunno if that says alot lol
bobbabad: will, if you look at labcoin and activemining, we have one thousand times more background details compared to what we had on asicminer when they did their ipo.. thats investing, part gambling, no?
dub: or in DT's case a history of delivering investors BTC into the pocket of various thieves
dub: but its perfectly sane to invest in a 'company' that is nothing more than a forum post by people with no history of delivering anything
bobbabad: I think its a crazy bet to think that all new asic companies will fail as well
bobbabad: if BFL were able to deliver on inital estimates there wouldnt be an asicminer today
bobbabad: sure, but they are pretty late to the party in regards to releasing next gen miners, right? theyre only hope is that everyone else is failing it seems?
dub: well they are an actual asic producer rather than a pipe dream, might count for something
bobbabad: Im supprised how much of the btcgarden coins got funnelled into asicminer... did I miss any news since price details on the blades?
dub: "I have locked some of this scam - Love burnside"
Ogedei_: 75% of their shares at least?
Ogedei_: pretty sure burnside confirmed that they are locked if thats what you mean
afrotec: did labcoin prove the locked shares yet?
afrotec: did labcoin prove the locked shares yet?
Urushiol: seems that maybe the btcgarden funds are finding their way to other homes
dub: can't email something out of there
thestringpuller: and pay for it that way
thestringpuller: then go to a store and give a moneygram vendor money
thestringpuller: oh they transferred money for bitinstant via money gram
dub: thestringpuller: the supoena list
dub: deadterra waiting a full nanosecond to start raping icedrill marks
Graet: dont see gavin on the list - he'd be a pretty important btc person i think ;)
ozbot: Title: Translation Romanian -> English. 330 words, 1 BTC.
mircea_popescu: should be a few months, hold tight
gecko_x2: such are the wonders of bitcoinland
gecko_x2: crispy green dollar bills growing on trees
gecko_x2: where the money at?
Hollywood: I am not sure, tranche 1 sold err did something on bitfunder, and now there is a listing locked on btct.co
Hollywood: So, btct.co rejected listing Icedril so far? Am I reading that correctly 1/4?
Namworld: Any canadian in here in need of a large supply of BTC to purchase? Not having much luck with OTC.
ozbot: Electrical signatures of consciousness in the dying brain | University of Michigan Health System
jurov: don't shot the balloons
mircea_popescu: aww, my trolling.
mircea_popescu: so basically... the btc garden refund flew into s.mpoe ?
jurov: in fact they started at 0.0049 but sold poorly... so i chickened out
ThickAsThieves: i think i bought most of all of em
mircea_popescu: but roughly speaking 14/9 is the proportion, so like 50%
mircea_popescu: to get TWO changes crammed in 9 days means the blocks need to fly.
mircea_popescu: hhrlot there's a change going off in less than a day
jurov: you need to shorten the time from 14 to 8 days .. so 75% jump
thestringpuller: jurov: ThickAsThieves bought a bunch of -E diffs at ~.0045
ThickAsThieves: youd have to do the math
ThickAsThieves: befor ethe 22nd? because it would take like a 40% diff change or something
hhrlot: why wouldn't there be a change?
mircea_popescu: if there is another change before 22nd tho... it will be pretty massive.
