mjr___: So this is a rough draft first start
mjr___: personal views on bitcoin related things, i guess to summarize
mjr___: as far as content, it WILL be stuff related to bitcoin, my views on the current news of bitcoin, my ideas about future projects...
mjr___: truff1es: harsh is fine
mjr___: can't get comments to work right yet
mjr___: check out my new blog post at blog.btcshares.com
mjr___: hey all, if you are interested
mjr___: so...back to work, feel free to play around, you should see new features popping up
mjr___: i built that first example but it didn't have all the backend functionality i wanted
mjr___: rough idea is, people show up and can easily update their orders pretty much in real time
mjr___: to have this up by monday
mjr___: well, i am trying to do a hackathon attempt
mjr___: and i also need to add an entire user system...geez, this is kinda a long process
mjr___: feel free to check out the github
mjr___: but finding out where the error is will take more time i think
mjr___: i've got a lot of stuff working pretty quickly
mjr___: this is the blessing and curse of using other peoples shit
mjr___: so all my changes auto update
mjr___: yeah, but it doesn't make a difference
mjr___: and then put in an angular front end
mjr___: so that all changes happen in real time
mjr___: next i split into bids and asks
mjr___: this is the most basic version
mjr___: right now i am getting basic functionality up and running
mjr___: feel free to play around
mjr___: thanks for helping me test
mjr___: if anyone else is looking, order updates don't work yet
mjr___: and not in the best way yet
mjr___: this so far only has mongo and nodejs working
mjr___: well, some progress made
mjr___: adrian childers comment
mjr___: though i think toddlers understand it quite well
mjr___: free market apparently is like phd level stuff or something
mjr___: why bother trying to control everyone?
mjr___: since anyone can simply jump in front anyway
mjr___: that is a retarded idea
mjr___: i was like i completely disagree with you
mjr___: the guy was like, we should all coordinate a fixed price
mjr___: mircea_popescu: by the way, the facebook comment i directed you too was very sad
mjr___: i am going to start by setting up the node.js server
mjr___: benkay: i just pushed out an updated readme
mjr___: i think version 1 will be rough, but then we can add geolocation, so if someone isn't there, their orders will be grayed out (as they couldn't be acted upon anywy)
mjr___: simply a tool, to help facilitate real life transactions
mjr___: but i think i can have it up by monday
mjr___: not one line of code written yet
mjr___: should be very easy to implement, so if philadelphians or chicagoans want to duplicate it, they could easily
mjr___: mongodb, express, angularjs, nodejs
mjr___: going to use what is called a MEAN stack
mjr___: basically it is trying to maintain a level 2 book in real time synched across 20 mobile devices
mjr___: so we will have market data
mjr___: hopefully then, when people update their order to show that they have closed a sale, it will generate a print on our tape
mjr___: since change is a hassle in fiat
mjr___: it will also convert all orders into denomminations of $10 or $20
mjr___: i might place a "hold" feature on the site, so you can show that someone is taking an offer or a bid
mjr___: but if you find someone, you "match" in real life
mjr___: and they can place an order in front of it if they want
mjr___: so as people join us in the park, they know our local best bid and ask
mjr___: as well as update those prices in basically real time
mjr___: i want to give them a site where they can advertise their prices
mjr___: i have maybe 20 people meeting in union square on monday at 4pm
mjr___: we are not clearing or settling
mjr___: so bots can't really do well
mjr___: should have API, but at the same time...it is cash settled immediateely
mjr___: basically, a website optimized for a mobile device, where you can update your orders quickly
mjr___: an easy way of all keeping track of what orders you have out etc
mjr___: this is meant for a group of people in the same location at the same time
mjr___: so, it basically assumes that you will coordinate amongst yourself
mjr___: localbitcoin is for finding people
mjr___: well, yes, similar but in some ways completely different
mjr___: any comments or suggestions?
mjr___: i hope that we can get distributed and decentralized exchanges that will be easy to use
mjr___: so 2 day hackathon lol
mjr___: i'm going to hopefully try it out in a park in new york on monday
mjr___: so hopefully anyone anywhere can just say "me meet at location x at time y" and then they have an order book for advertising prices
mjr___: easy to use level 2 book, maybe geolocation features
mjr___: basically a website which will try to facilitate IRL bitcoin exchanges
