jcpham:

i'm persistant
jcpham: you mean
i have leave for ayear?
Chaaaang-Noi: could be a hedge aginst a large all otehr asic investment, but
i think most are crazy
jcpham:
i'm not criticizing any asset but kids are debating whether to drop 3btc on a usb erupter like it will ever mine it back
Neil:
I'm convinced that psychologically people see it as free money, regardless of what they're paying for it.
mircea_popescu: jcpham no argument, but
i'd rather friedcat capitalise on that failure than the forum fauna.
Neil:
I've never understood the mining obsession.
optimator: jcpham: no doubt the 50btc is crazy... but
I'm hard pressed to believe a mass dump of gpus will occur on ebay
jcpham:
i plan to flip my gpus soon yes
jcpham:
i've never visited the litecoin website that
i know of
Chaaaang-Noi: fuck, there are girls down stairs and all

Neil: Though
I decided to blow a lot of $ and time and go to porcfest next wk.
Neil:
I would be, but
I'm stuck in Japan :(
aknap3: after that
I'm off to buy a new one
mircea_popescu:
i can't quite pin it for certain it's so small, but with reasonable confidence we're talking < 100 btc lifetime.
Chaaaang-Noi: but that 100th stock had a lot of volume
i was told
Neil: Block creation has really slowed;
I guess
I'm gonna lose my difficulty bet :(
Neil:
I think you mean "have too much brains"
Bunnyh:
i have no idea how they are valued. not saying that it's much different with btc :)
Bunnyh: Neil: sold,
i don't have the balls to hold altcoins
Chaaaang-Noi: yeah thats fine,
i dont feel
i lost anything:)
Neil:
I guess they've been pegging the giveaway size to the market price of XRP
Bunnyh: started at 50k, though
i only got 40k myself too
Neil: Not sure
I believe in it; and there seems to be billions waiting to be dumped in the future.
Neil: Chaaaang-Noi: Got any RIPple?
I've sold almost all mine now; got 6 BTC out of it; still have a couple of k RIPple left.
Neil: Oh dear,
I've just found this thread:
Chaaaang-Noi: let me know what cones he comes out with,
i want to short it right away;)
Neil:
I'm going to put my price up next time.
Neil:
I charged him another 0.1 BTC to tell him why his coin won't confirm... he doesn't know the 100 confirm rule. Sheesh. And he's trying to do his own!
furuknap: "
I have given the orders to probe the complaints" <- Bad choice of words...
Chaaaang-Noi: <Neil> Chaaaang-Noi: Thx for the 500 link.
I own one of those addresses! Not gonna say which though. nice :)
mircea_popescu: Neil anyway,
i imagine 1dice addies would be more interesting if indeed that;s vulnerable
Neil: mircea_popescu: Ah
I see, that's a weakness in the signatures. Yeah.
I'm not a fan of spending an address other than all in one go.
dub:
I get bit by a wild monkey in indochina
Neil: Oh
I see, please, that'd be interesting. You mean the G point?
mircea_popescu: tbh
i think it's convincing proof as it is. most agencies wouldn't sneer at a few mn extra budget.
Neil: If BTC ever gets to $1k or $5k, and those remain unstolen,
I think it's pretty convincing proof that ECDSA hasn't been cracked by any intelligence agency.
mircea_popescu: Neil
i remember someone showing an easy exploit for addresses which made two spends on the same seed for ecdsa
Neil:
I wonder if $100m is stealable money is incentivizing anyone to try and crack ECDSA (the old coinbases are stealable, as are addresses with non-zero balance that have been spent from at least once).
Neil: Chaaaang-Noi: Thx for the 500 link.
I own one of those addresses! Not gonna say which though.
Neil:
I'd have some too :)
mircea_popescu: well, if you figure out how to do it
i got some btc too :D
truff1es:
i dont understand the parasitic nature of some humans either
Neil: Does he think
I'm Satoshi or sthg? Or that the whole network has upgraded?
I don't understand some people.
Neil: Well
I finally got the genesis block coins to be spendable. Now the problem is, they never confirm!
Ukto: [19:43] <jborkl>
i got a disease last time

jborkl:
i got a disease last time
i went in there
truff1es:
i suppose if ure in btc one should
dub: and
I shall smoketh it
mircea_popescu: "So,
I start mining only to realise that there's a minimum withdrawal of 0.05 BTC which took me about a week to mine."
optimator: yes -
i thought the ipo was still open?
ThickAsThieves: he's asking if you will be selling more S.MG into the bids again,
i think
ThickAsThieves: "Update: Hi everyone, just to let you guys know that
I hacked this account and removed all the negative trust,
I've dealt with that scumbag hacker-wannabe extortionist
I rooted his fucking machine and stole every last bitcent.
I will be in contact with those that he has defrauded and you will be reimbursed fully BM-2D8oHJRsGqH82FDAC2eTEtVmeN7TAVmNBP the1 trojan"
ThickAsThieves:
i don't uderstand how moderators aren't moderating this at all
ThickAsThieves:
I'm back from a few days in Asheville, NC, did
I miss anything fun?
furuknap: Unlike a lot of people,
I don't have a problem with PMBs. Sure, in difficulty rises it loses value, but so does owning mining equipment and you don't see people run arond screming "MINING IS A SCAM!" for that reason.
furuknap: Sure,
I got that. It can turn both ways, though. It will certainly bring more 'fairness' to PMBs but it can also kill a lot of assets and make some investors extremely angry.
furuknap:
I'm thinking that the asset issuers won't be very happy since it turns their bonds into a mere numbers game. Also the exchanges may not be that keen because it will put load on their servers directly (for transparency).
furuknap:
I'm contemplating building a page that shows what the 'best' PMBs are (rated by price/hash only). Right now,
I'm fairly certain 100TH is way up there, followed by upgraded PAJKA and TAT.VM.
jborkl:
I missed this part, is it after his mental breakdown or before
furuknap: It's only a single account that was hacked, and by hacked
I mean someone guessed or found a password. The site itself is still safe based on what they have said.
furuknap: Yeah,
I saw that and posted on Reddit too. It's not as serioius as it may look, though.
furuknap: 100th second most wanted...
I feel a bit responsibel for that.
usagi: Yeah
I guess thats enough now lol, sorry
usagi: "Usagi has been paying me back and keeping me informed when
I ask. Shit goes wrong in life" -jborkl
usagi:
I wonder what got stuck in your ass
usagi: It will be paying daily divs forever on it's current portfolio even if it never resumes trading, and
I'll see to it personally
usagi: Now that
I am restarting BMF you will get a nice long look at that too
jborkl:
I can make a list off memory
jborkl:
I disagree , maybe you have not seen enough history of his/er trainwreck past?
usagi: TU.SILVER is so successful that
I have to make massive distribution payments just to keep leverage close to silver
usagi:
I'm a little tired to argue it again, just pointing out people who say that are usually full of shit:)
Chaaaang-Noi: <usagi> s.mg will be a trainwreck
i would have thought it to be a scam
