RBecker: i'm idented :P hi
shovel_boss: so i named it shovel_boss :D
shovel_boss: i want to rename it sometime soon
mircea_popescu: they had a ta chan but i don't recall what it was atm
shovel_boss: i do TA(technical analysis, tell you when to buy or sell) on coins, i do it for anyone and any coin.you can join me at #shovel_boss crypto related and un related chat everyone is welcome :)
shovel_boss: mircea_popescu, mate can i post a channel name here
mircea_popescu: i can see it.
los_pantalones: perhaps i'll merge them as it becomes clearer to me but it seemed like a cheap option to do it this way
los_pantalones: ok well there are very well defined IP ownership clauses in my contract and i just thought this made sense as a starting point
los_pantalones: yes yes, but when i'm acting on their behalf am i acting as a sovereign entity?
shovel_boss: why do i get voice but not the other 200 peoples
los_pantalones: i think would be the argument they would make
los_pantalones: i don't technically own the trust i earn working for this company
mircea_popescu: maybe that's the right way to go and i'm just seeing the particular effects of my very peculiar personality, where i have no problem receiving slut selfies on office@
los_pantalones: i have a personal one, attached to my activities outside of work
mircea_popescu: BigBitz i didn't mean the power ranger derpage. i just meant, one having multiple gpg signatures.
los_pantalones: well, not if i'm the biggest fool of the bunch!
los_pantalones: but i started a new one connected to this company
los_pantalones: so i thought you were the best place to start
los_pantalones: no, i signed your gpg outside of this, got the company i'm working with to start to come around on the idea of everyone having one
los_pantalones: i just signed your gpg too
justusranvier: I did. Thanks. Do I get a castle or something now? Vassals?
los_pantalones: i send, i risk today to aug, you deliver ether then
los_pantalones: yeah, this is what i had in mind
justusranvier: I heard a theory about Ethereum which I'm not sure has been floated here before.
mircea_popescu: i made a model, it's been linked a few times, lemme find it
los_pantalones: and i'll decide if we are going to trade
mircea_popescu: if you're not going to go into some version of "but why do i have to actually take some risk on, isn't this one of those deals where people just get free resources for being people, like from the government ?"
los_pantalones: i have to work out the details on our side but i wanted to check you first
los_pantalones: mircea_popescu, i think we are going to trade some ether with you
mircea_popescu: ;;later tell RagnarDanneskjol had you reg'd with a gpg address like respectable folk i would now have everything I need to send you an email. wtf am i going to do with a bitcoin address ?
mircea_popescu: I guess it beats "i trickle"
mircea_popescu: que "i'm such a jerk, and history coming to bite one in the ass is so unfair, and what sort of usg democracy is this where responsibility exists!!1"
BingoBoingo: lol, I'll let him wonder. Some lessons sting more with a few years of hindsight.
kdomanski__: HeySteve: I read an article once about registrars who preemtively register domains that people check for availability
HeySteve: I believe they pre-register a lot of commercially desirable names, like for medicines, vehicles and probably other stuff
HeySteve: yeah I wouldn't pay those domain squatters, they're like lazy thieves
kdomanski: I read that one
HeySteve: kdomanski I remember an MP article on that stuff, conclusion being that a unique address is better
TomServo: asciilifeform: I think I've read that twice now... I must be too dense to see the connection?
BingoBoingo: I think kako_Number_5 will stick on the forum
kakobrekla: the third or fourth time. i think i get the message now.
punkman: ben_vulpes: no I don't forum
pankkake: I follow this blog, but that article was pretty weak
TomServo: I'm sure you guys will love this one: http://blog.cryptographyengineering.com/2014/08/whats-matter-with-pgp.html
wyrdmantis: i cant form an opinion but his version sounds more accurate
wywialm: asciilifeform, Orlov seems to be one of the best informed people I read on the Ukrainian affair
RagnarDanneskjol: I guess I should be asking this in otc
RagnarDanneskjol: Sure, but I think there are approval times, limits, etc. They want to send me a large retainer fee [10k] like yesterday, and I want to have them to learn it the right way
RagnarDanneskjol: yea - Im sure they have some go-to network that most folks use - All i know of is Bobby Lee. I have a client who needs to pay me a retainer and they are new to all this so need to figure it out for them, show them the ropes, but I got no clue
wyrdmantis: seems that i have to learn doing something useful for the WoT. I think what i know is not enough. I'm thinking to open a blog in Italian about my first steps in b-a, so people in italy can understand what is happening. Do you think it's a good idea?
wyrdmantis: "I see manipulation" <<<--- seems legit
wyrdmantis: thanks chetty, i can voice myself now
RagnarDanneskjol: Yes, I still rock a CRT 2nd screen for nostalgia & to help accelerate global warming
RagnarDanneskjol: I'm on the other end, everytime I do something with software, there is blood and gnashing of teeth
pankkake: :o never got to that point, though I often hurt
jurov: almost every time i do something with hardware, there is blood
mircea_popescu: http://i.imgur.com/LRQOrEX.jpg
mircea_popescu: ultima ? well... like a ultima i imagine.,
RagnarDanneskjol: http://oai.dtic.mil/oai/oai?verb=getRecord&metadataPrefix=html&identifier=ADA597771 please consider whatever trojan horsery might be hiding is pdf from this source. looks safe to be, but what do I know
MolokoDeck: I'll stay in touch with ragnar about this.
MolokoDeck: ok, I'm not a big fan of races and bounties, but understood.
RagnarDanneskjol: Molo, please try to work on it some this weekend... I am actively recruiting until it gets done- first to finish line wins
MolokoDeck: heh. I know the feeling.
RagnarDanneskjol: I got server space coming outta my ears
MolokoDeck: ok. not sure what my timeframe to completion on this would be presuming I would be doing it. My development resources are limited right now (one virtual host)
MolokoDeck: anyway, I think you've settled my question about the feasibility/non-feasibility of spoofing a single hash.
MolokoDeck: I was considering just adding an arbirary number of bits to the bogus message.
MolokoDeck: I was wondering about that. I'm not clear on how much influence a nonce has on hash outcomes. so that explains that question.
MolokoDeck: I've done it that way.
BingoBoingo: I just met you, this is crazy. Here's my weiner. So blow me baby.
BigBitz: I just you.
MolokoDeck: I'm not sure there's a quantum algorith for SHA256 that's particularly leveraged, but there are supposedly turing-complete quantum gate computers that could accellerate that. Let's not go into that.
MolokoDeck: oh nevermind. It would have to match the ENTIRE hash. megayears. ok. i get it.
BigBitz: heh, I may be clueless, but I don't think a miner can influence the hash value of the clock.
MolokoDeck: ok. am I clueless?
MolokoDeck: since the hash is inserted as a comment in the blockchain, I think one might be able to create bogus blocks that have the same has by inserting a salt and mining a single hash here.
MolokoDeck: so I overloade the term "validate".
BigBitz: mircea_popescu you know I am lazy. :(
MolokoDeck: automated contract notarization I would think.
MolokoDeck: only the validating hash goes on the blockchain, not the entire block of documents, I take it?
RagnarDanneskjol: and not necessarily running bitcoind / wallet. i will let mircea elaborate
MolokoDeck: am I reading the same thing you are?
BigBitz: mircea_popescu I like LastPass, actually :)
MolokoDeck: so, I'm still reviewing the bitcoin-assets log related to a bot project involving posting and cryptosigning cryptodocuments.. or something to that effect.
RagnarDanneskjol: mircea_popescu - I have my bot dev on the other line - he is reading the logs right now. This guy runs the bot for my room. lemme know if you're around to chat it up w/ him
BingoBoingo: Oh, I went from having under 10k Meat in merchandise in my mall store to...
mircea_popescu: ben_vulpes nope. i'm willing to pay a pittance to take over code already written and not making a penny.
mike_c: ah. 30 people right now. i wonder what the right # is.
mike_c: i was too lazy to look. did anybody get kicked out of assbot L1?
mike_c: I saw :) i disagree with a couple points, but a counter-rebuttal.. too meta
dreamstring: word, thanks for the reads. Im gonna cash out for the night while i delve into some of theses. thanks guys.
BingoBoingo: dreamstring: I'm kind of expecting that if you read you can have a few thousand words on why it was broken
dreamstring: I'll be much more willing to discuss the details of what i have planned once i know how this place operates though, thanks.
dreamstring: Oh that was a sad sad attempt at what I thought would be a two second plug
gribble: Requiem for a Dream (Strings) - YouTube: <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clvSQc0bNC0>; "Angels Watch Us While We're Sleeping-A Dream"...strings, choral ...: <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4Xb_Ok4GXE>; Kalafina - I have a dream(strings version) - YouTube: <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5DUYq5Mn-D4>
kakobrekla: i guess the real question is - they have a logo yet?
BingoBoingo: kakobrekla: I tried but he seemed more interested in polishing bullet points.
BingoBoingo: <dreamstring> umad << Why would I be mad?
BingoBoingo: <dreamstring> the reality is everyone has a smart phone, thats how the gov wants it. well use that and give everyone a smart phone a new start to a currency connected to everyone with a smart phone... which is everyone in the world. << I haven't had one in years
