Obsi: The money is being used, that might not even be possible.
Obsi: I am not that kind of person.
dust-otc: yeah you can pay 0% forever and take everyone's money!
Obsi: I know that. I never said it is 1% a day forever, contract states such
Obsi: Well I can't say 100% it is not a scam, I am not there in the business seeing all. But they have made returns for a long time now. The chance it might be scam or lose money is why I called it high-risk.
Obsi: The rates are employee rates... incentives to make it work.
dust-otc: it would be much more profitable in the long run
dust-otc: why not reinvest the profits instead of borrowing at absurd rates?
Obsi: it is up to the employees to help make the location successful.
Obsi: They allow employees to scout new locations and pitch them from what I understand. They start new ones a few times a year.
Obsi: I doubt they will fold unless the economy gets very bad, rates may reduce, but they made it through 2008-2009
mircea_popescu: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=110350.msg1200842#msg1200842 o this is delicious
Obsi: I prefer not to say. I have already received a personal threat regarding this.
Obsi: As far as bank loans they do use some funding that way, but there are limits with new locations and lack of funding can keep one from being successful
Obsi: The allow employees to do that. Many max credit cards even to invest. Too much risk to do those things for my taste.
Obsi: I would say it is legit, maybe not best for the people who take such loans, but there are many such businesses
Obsi: Are you saying they should just go get bank loans?
Obsi: It's worked so far, but I am not sure how great an investment it will be using BTC if the price continues to climb
Obsi: exactly, once the location is fully funded they take a portion of earnings and pay back initial investment capital.
Obsi: Basically they let their employees bootstrap a new location with their money in exchange for a chance at sharing earnings.
Obsi: They take the money and use it to fund debt purchases and loans, the pay out interest/bonus payments each week. Once they have enough earnings of their own to fully fund that location the begin capital repayment
Obsi: Me too if that happens. They hold a decent chunk of my own money as well.
Obsi: I'm not sure what you're asking EskimoBob... the money is paid back over time

BTC-Mining: Preferably it would pop an error telling you you're trying to input a bid over your own ask...
mircea_popescu: not sure why it'd work that way but anyway
BTC-Mining: It's a bit stupid but you can't trade with yourself, apparently
BTC-Mining: But yeah, if I have an ask at 1, then want to put another at 1.1 and input 1.1 in the bids instead, it will eat the asks past my 1 ask.
mircea_popescu: wow, > 5 minutes old ? that makes it darn useless wtf.
BTC-Mining: I guess the bot has outdated info
BTC-Mining: Actually the ask on GLBSE is at 40 @ 0.12449989
BTC-Mining: It does not indeed. But if you place multiple asks... and by error input a higher value in the bid box
mircea_popescu: o, so someone has an ask and then buys for more than they sell at ?
BTC-Mining: I did that once actually.
BTC-Mining: Assuming the wanted another ask in but inputed in the bid section?
BTC-Mining: Unless the ask is by the person who bought the bonds
mircea_popescu: now how exactly is the last trade that happened a second ago about 15% over the ask ?
